I wasn't sure what to expect since this was my first rental experience, but it was well worth it. The house is well-kept and had all the pots, pans, and utensils we needed to cook and enjoy an amazing Thanksgiving dinner. The appliances were up-to-date and in great working order. The restrooms as well as the towels, and linen were clean and well-stocked. We had a great experience and are looking forward to doing this again.

One of the best Airbnb’s our family has stayed in! The home was absolutely perfect for our family of 8! Beds were comfy and bathrooms super clean! We loved watching the ships go by and enjoyed quick walks to the beach! We loved the burgers from the Jetty Shack which was a minute away :) The kitchen and living room was also beautiful and had plenty or room for all of our snacks and plenty of seating. We would definitely stay here again!

We loved watching the ships go out to sea. The hot tub was clean and ready to hop in. You can walk right down to the beach entrance, splash park, and a fishing spot is right across the street. We loved that there was a bathroom for every room. The kitchen was huge to cook in.

This place was nice for my family. They were able to go fishing all around Surfside and my brother in law finally got his biggest fish ever. We enjoyed sitting on at the porch and seeing the scenery and making memories. Thank you very much for such an awesome time.

We enjoyed our stay 100%. Everything was in good working order and up to date. I like how a few starter items were available (pods, trash bags, body wash and shampoo etc.) to make things easier. The views are spectacular it was a beautiful and cozy stay!

Think before you book this place . The house itself seems a bit older and the deck furniture was old and rusty as my daughter found out sitting in it and it broke in half and she was hurt . The area seems adequate for its purpose the beach and several local fishing spots. We had a couple days of rain and had to stay indoors which would have okay had the internet not gone out which apparently happens a lot out there not to mention the power outage . Despite all that we managed to enjoy ourselves but the dirty fridge lining that had mold and the filthy bedroom sinks with build up and hair in it made us a little uncomfortable. The house on the surface was clean but down deep was dusty and was obviously not cleaned as well as the photos make it appear. There was no iron and very few towels to chair for ten people. The house had the bare minimum for you to clean up after yourselves. I don’t think I would do this Airbnb again ever !

We certainly don't wish that for any of our guests. That said, as much as we'd like to, we cannot control Mother Nature and the effect of storms on the power nor internet services. We understand from you directly and from our staff's attempts to help you, this was the real root of your issues. Also, this lovely beach home is located in a natural coastal environment, and while we strive to maintain it to high standards (and take clean very seriously), some elements—like humidity, salty and sandy breezes, and occasional island wildlife—are simply part of the authentic beach experience. These are things that many guests find charming, but we understand they may not be for everyone. We do our best to provide a clean, comfortable, and well-equipped space, and we're sorry if anything fell short of your expectations. Perhaps a seaside home is not the best choice for you in the future especially during an island storm.

We had an exceptional stay at The Sweet & Salty. Plenty of room for our family and very nice home in a nice area. We witnessed big ships coming and going from harbor. Our kiddos enjoyed walking down to the beach area we had family living near by and they also enjoyed the home as well while visiting. Thank You So Much for sharing your home with us and we hope to stay again! Oh… and our experience with The “Jetty Shack” for a phenomenal Jetty Burger! Go by and ask Janet from another planet… and the whole crew with a warm Welcome… Texas Style!

The place is nice but the interior items are not so creat … some of the pillows and mattresses are old with dark brown or yellow stains. There was not enough hygiene items and towels for guests

This is a lovely seaside place Hoan, thank you for noting. The owners have put a lot into their home to make this a great guest place to stay. We haven't had any other guests mention any issue with the pillows nor mattresses, as you can read for all of the reviews, so we are bit confused. However, our field hospitality staff will do a thorough review and appreciate your feedback.

Elizabeth, lamentamos mucho que no hayas disfrutado de tu estadía, pero estamos desconcertados por tu reseña. Esta es una casa encantadora y bien mantenida con críticas consistentemente excelentes. Esta casa ofrece una parrilla de carbón que se anuncia en consecuencia. ¿Quizás esperabas uno de gasolina? En cuanto al fregadero de la cocina, funciona correctamente. Nuevamente, nos decepciona que no esté satisfecho, pero eso no parece justificar una calificación de 1 estrella.

Was a great stay. Overall a very comfortable place. Cool AC, comfortable beds, nice spot to hangout on the upper deck. Again, the bathing/ dishes water is a little funky but bring your own drinking water in and you’re all good! Overall would stay here again. Did not utilize the hot tub but it’s at a great spot. Pier 30 was a good local dive bar close by.

Great location! 5 minute walk from jetty and beach! Splash pad right in front We enjoyed our stay. Hot tub was a nice addition. Shower outside was very helpful. Home was nice and tidy. Plenty room to accommodate us. Huge kitchen! We loved it!

We absolutely loved our stay at Sweet & Salty. The beds were so comfortable and with the weather being a-bit chili we loved the coziness of the entire house. The hot tub was our favorite part during our stay. The kitchen is spacious and moveable for a big family. This location is perfect for families with little ones all the kid friendly amenities the island has to offer were a short walk or golf cart ride away. We are definitely planning a future trip soon. A big plus was HEB being able to deliver our groceries during our stay. We are huge HEB fans being from Texas and all so that was the icing on the cake for us! Thanks for having us!

The place was amazing. My whole family loved it. We picked the perfect weekend since it was my birthday. They had a St. Patrick’s Day parade on Saturday that was as awesome. We will definitely be going back again!!

We had a very memorable and enjoyable stay at Sweet & Salty Beachouse. We spent 6 days there with 3 generations of our family. Great memories were made! The house was clean and we loved that all 4 bedrooms had a bathroom. The appliances were top notch and just about everything we needed was there. We will definitely be booking another family stay here!

Me and my family and friends loved this house! It was the perfect distance from the beach. We were able to walk there. There’s also a small little beach that’s more private right across the way under the bridge. The beds were extremely comfortable. The street is busy with beach goers on the weekends. Very entertaining. Huge ships traveling through the channel all day and night. They supplied everything you would need for cooking. Even pokers for roasting marshmallows over the fire pit! We absolutely enjoyed our stay and would totally return here! 11/10 recommend!

So many great things to say about this beautiful home! Check in was very easy, home was absolutely spotless. Each room had its own bathroom which made it even more awesome. The location is great! We were able to watch several ships go by. 5 min walk to the water.

Although the pictures are accurate, the place is smaller than it appears; the kitchen refrigerator had mold/mildew in the gaskets; there were only a couple of kitchen towels to use in cleaning counters & island, the listing states that there is a water filtration system but in the paperwork that has to be signed before arrival, there’s a statement that you have to bring your own water for drinking/cooking; not sure what exactly the water filtration system’s purpose is when you have to bring your own water.

Thank you for allowing us to host your stay Bobbie and appreciate your feedback. We haven't had anyone mention the place being smaller than expected, in fact quite the contrary. However, the square footage is publicized. As for the water filtration system, yes, this home has robust one, but we recommend all guests staying in the Village of Surfside homes to use bottled water for drinking purposes. Always better to err on the side of caution. Thanks again for staying with us!

This home was exactly what my friends and I were looking for when booking our relaxing girls weekend. The home is just as the pictures show, if not better. We really loved our time at this AirBnb. The hot tub was great and the views were very peaceful. It was my first time to the area and I really enjoyed it. The only reason I didn't give it a complete 5 star rating across the board is that we needed to sign additional paperwork through the 979 Vacation Rental company on top of the AirBnb booking. While it technically all was within the rights and guidance from Airbnb, it would have been helpful if that had been made clearer or if we would've been able to review it ahead of booking. Overall I'd recommend this property for a group or family. It could easily accommodate the listed max number of individuals making for a great vacation.

We were a little wary of booking without reviews, but we are so happy we did. The house and decor was so ADORABLE. It was very spacious for our family with four bedrooms and four bathrooms. One of the four rooms has four bunks. The common area was perfect with plenty of room and a huge table. We didn’t end up cooking in the kitchen. Bathrooms were a good size (all walk in showers). AC worked great but it was cool enough to open it up for ocean breeze. It was a short walk to the beach area, which has a parking area, but you can easily walk. The porch faces an inlet area where kids can watch ships go through. It’s a huge fishing spot. The vibe is very chill. No crazy partying people. The neighbors were very quiet too. It’s a short drive to lake Jackson for shopping and restaurants. The only thing I can say is it smelled like pest control spray when we got there. We just aired it out and it was fine. The text number for the booking was quick to respond. I would definitely recommend the beach house to anyone I know and I would stay here again.

The vacation home was mostly as good as advertised. The only problems were that the grill was missing and the hot tub was not clean. When the hot tub was turned on, it shot out a bunch of algae and gunk. Otherwise, the house was very nice and offers a good view from the balcony.

My family and I enjoyed this property so much, it was a short walk to both the water and a walking trail. We did drive about 10 minutes from the house to access the beach with more sand. The home is very well equipped we were very happy with our choice to stay at this home.

The house was so beautiful! We all admired the decoration and how clean and well organized the place was. Kitchen was fully equipped to cook a big feast for the group with plenty of serving plates and utensils. A wine fridge and separate bar area was a nice touch to stock up on drinks for the weekend. Bedding was very comfortable. Location was ideal with a few minutes walk to the beach and it was interesting to be able to see huge ships coming in and out. We would stay here again if we come back to Surfside beach. Highly recommended!
