Sunsets absolutely beautiful! That alone made the place worth it! Quiet and lots to do. Being right on the beach is awesome. The house is spacious and nicely decorated. The host is proactive and friendly.

This house was the perfect place for me to meet up with my son, daughter in law and grandchildren. We loved the house, we enjoyed the hot tub. We enjoyed watching ships come in a long the jetty. There are nice places to eat that are close by. It was a beautiful place to make precious memories.

The location is amazing!!! I can't say that enough. I have never had a closer house to the beach. the hosts are super responsive and always kind and clear in they messages. The house was very clean when we first arrived.

979 Crew was quick to answer any questions we had prior to our arrival. The place was just as pictured and described. We wish there were just a couple more deck chairs for everyone to be out on the deck in the evening to enjoy the view. Overall, great stay and we’ll use 979 again!

When we arrived there were neighbors parked in our spot that we had to ask to move, and people literally right in front of our property, almost under the house, touching the front piers of the home. The entire trip people were either under the house or trying to put their tents up right in front of our house. It was just a very frustrating experience if you plan on being at the beach every day. The inside was clean & updated, but the house is very small & you can hear EVERYTHING through the walls. Also there was a cat tree in the house & my son is allergic to cats. If you need extra toilet paper, paper towels, or trash bags they expect you to pay $35. We were also told to provide a list with names & ages & if anyone else came, it would be a $500 fee & eviction. (Told to me the day of check in,after I had paid already) Honestly, I would suggest NOT renting at this location & going farther down the beach to rent.

We appreciate you staying with us Melissa and are disappointed you were not happier with your selection in location and home. This beautiful home is literally right on the beach, and while beachgoers are not permitted to be under this home or in the driveway, all Texas beaches are public under the Texas Open Beaches Act. We agree, perhaps a less popular beach location away from the local activities and restaurants would be better for you based on your comments. Thank you for the compliments to this home's cleanliness and modern design. As for the supplies, we do fully stock the home in advance with what most guests need and more; however, we just give an option for guests to request more merely as a courtesy. This is shared upfront for any planning purposes, and of course, you as a guest may certainly bring whatever you like at no cost from us. Yes, we do have a guest agreement which stipulates a max number of guests allowed in the home in the terms which is pretty standard. This was shared with you when you booked this home not at check-in (?) just like with all our guests. Again, we're sorry you didn't enjoy your choice more and perhaps doing a bit research on the location in the future would behoove you.

Incredible views. Easy to access the beach right from the steps. Perfect house to share with others. Water was filtered for drinking and didn't have smell in the showers other beach houses have. Comfortable furnishings and a large table for sharing.

Had a great time! Some might not enjoy proximity to the channel and port entry, but I really enjoyed watching the ships go by and watching the crew dredge the canal. You would of thought it would have been noisy, but it was very peaceful. The home was beautiful, comfortable, and I found it to be just what we needed. I enjoyed my stay, and it was a great price! We took a day trip in Galveston, day trip in Houston, spent a day on the beach at the house, and utilized the hot tub. Freeport is close too, and we even had drinks and dinner at Sharkies. It was great!

Great little get away. Wright on the water. Great spot to go for a swim and go fishing. It had amazing views. Great place to see big ships pass by. I would highly recommend this home to anyone.

We really enjoyed our time at the beach house. It was an unusual experience because of the storm that was out in the gulf. We had to time getting to the stairs between waves crashing in. The house was in the water without any beach at all!! We all enjoyed the experience. Inside, t he house was very clean and comfortable with plenty of room for all of us.

Das Innere des Hauses ist sehr ansprechend und gemütlich. Dies kann man jedoch nicht von dem Aussenbereich sagen. Terrasse und Terrassemöbel müssen renoviert oder ersetzt werden. Überall blättert die Farbe ab, das Haus sieht von aussen sehr ungepflegt aus verglichen mit den Häusern in der Nachbarschaft. Da man dieses Haus direkt am Meer bucht um viel Zeit draussen zu verbringen, waren wir sehr enttäuscht. Das Sofa auf der Terrasse war schmutzig und abgenutzt und ein Kissen komplett zerfetzt. Das Wasser im Whirlpool war grün und er funtionierte nicht. Das Kissen wurde ersetzt, aber nur das eine Kissen und in einer anderen Farbe, das Sofa sah nachher nicht viel besser aus. Für den kaputten Whirlpool bekamen wir sofort eine finanzielle Entschädigung zugesichert. Die Verwalter des Hauses waren sehr proaktiv und zuvorkommend aber leider entsprach die Terrasse nicht dem was man auf den Bildern sieht und worauf wir uns gefreut haben.

Thank you for allowing us to host your direct seaside stay, Carole, and appreciate the compliments and feedback. We were sorry you were disappointed by this home's exterior condition. This home's photos were taken just 4 1/2 months ago, so they are current. However, this home does sit directly on the beach - sand, surf, sea air and all. It gets sand blasted regularly like all homes on the front row giving it somewhat of a weathered look in this scenic spot. That said, we will pass along your feedback on the outdoor furnishings to the owner. Again, we appreciate you staying with us!

Had a great stay! Location was lovely. Surfside is so fun because every day the water decides to take on a new “personality”. Some mornings the gulf is smooth as glass with fishermen taking advantage of the calm and others it’s a surfers paradise! It’s also fun to watch the big oil rigs come and go. The house had everything we needed and when an item was missing from the description they were quick to remedy the situation. It was spacious and well stocked and a perfect fit for our two families to spend a week relaxing. Definitely recommend.

We found the place wonderfully with the instructions provided and gaining access to the property was perfect. Upon first glance everything was in great shape. The beds were super comfortable and when we had an issue they were responsive. However the property needs updated photos and a thorough cleaning. The couch is white and has many stains all over it. The guest bathroom needs maintenance to the floor in front of the shower. It was so soft to walk over that it felt unsafe. When we arrived the water filtration system was half way submerged under the sand which led to hardly any water flow to the house. We were unable to use the shower and it took the toilet about an hour to fill up to be able to flush. 979 was responsive and had maintenance on site rather quickly. The hot tub also lacks maintenance and was full of green water and floating algae. We also had to leave early due to hurricane Beryl. 979 disregarded our message regarding a resolution due to the issues we had.

We appreciate the compliments to the location, comfortability, instructions and the responsiveness of our field and maintenance team. We (and the owners) want our guests to have nothing short of a wonderful seaside stay. We (and the home's owners) certainly took your feedback to heart with the understanding coastal living is never short of sun, sand, salt, humidity (and an occasional storm) which constantly take their toll. Loved this place, will definitely return. I stayed here a week after a hurricane hit so the fence below the house was completely gone but it did not interfere with our stay at all. The hot tub is amazing, facing the water and relaxing on the patio was the perfect way to end the beach day. Love that this house is right in the beach, we enjoyed the beach all day with quick breaks in the home. It was so clean and beautiful inside, I almost didn’t want to sit anywhere because it felt too clean lol

We've never been so close to the beach, no dunes (and no mosquitos). You are on the beach when you are on the deck and the house provides its own shade underneath and you are still by the waves. Spacious living room and kitchen, great and comfortable bed, and easy communication/check in. Loved our stay!

The beach stay was great! Location was awesome and the house was really great. I had only 2 issues. All of the pictures show a fence, which clearly has been down for a couple of years. You should update that. Also, you did not communicate about the hot tub maintenance and the hot tub guy was cornered by our dog who figured he was an intruder. Other than those it wasa fantastic.

We booked this home for our very first family beach vacation for our 2 and 4 year old. It could not have been better! Everything was well kept and very very clean. We loved the bedrooms and the beds were very comfortable. I have never slept so well at a rental property. The best part of course was the exceptional location and the fact that it was right in the sand on the beach. We felt like we had the whole beach to ourselves most days. We didn’t need a sun tent or even chairs most days because it was so convenient. We loved sitting out on the deck in our downtime and in the hot tub and we loved being so close to the jetty and seeing the ships come in and out. The only issue we had were the grill not working well but the property managers were extremely responsive and came out right away to help. We hope to always stay here for our beach trips! Just perfect! Definitely don’t hesitate to book this home!

My husband and I spent 4 days in the wonderful beach home and the only time we were inside was to sleep! Lounging on the deck over the water watching the waves and the surfers was the most absolutely peaceful stress free 4 days. The house was beautiful and the decor was really pretty. Bed was comfortable. Everything was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked with everything needed to prepare meals. We stopped at the store and shopped for our meals, but everything else needed was stocked in the kitchen. Will definitely be coming back. Great use of space with the 4 bedrooms. The location of the house to the beach was just amazing. Really enjoyed watching the tankers, ships and barges going through the channel that was so close to the house. Great time. Definitely worth the money!!!

We loved the location! Watching the ships come and go, walking the jetty. The beach was gorgeous! The house was beautiful. Beds were so comfortable. Towels were soft. There is nothing better than sitting in a hot tub, looking out at the ocean. We were in contact with the rental company and they were very friendly and helpful. I recommend it!

Loved the location! So convenient to be able to set up on the beach and be so close to the house to run in for lunch without having to pack everything up. Amazing view, instant access to the beach, playground nextdoor for the kids, hot tub for to stay warm and enjoy the view when it gets darker, board games for the family and comfortable beds. What else do you need. Definitely will be back
