SeaScape Haven Right on the sandy BEACH Hot Tub

Information about our rental was sent several times to be sure we had all the information we needed. Upon arrival, the first thing I noticed was the view of the beach. The house was “on” the beach! Excellent!! Upon entering the house, it was very clean, no damp smell like some beach houses have. The place was basically immaculate! Beds were clean and comfortable. The only thing I didn’t like was the running water in the house. Now this is NO FAULT on the property owners, it’s just the way the water is on the island here. I wish the water department could somehow change this. So be sure to bring bottle water with you.I want to say there were no plumbing issues, hot water was hot and every faucet worked properly.Now the deck over the Gulf of Mexico was breathtaking! Morning sunrises with a cup of coffee is not something to miss!We also enjoyed watching the huge tanker ships coming and going. They are a sight to see!

Inside of house was pretty clean but there were areas that needed attention. The stairs leading up to house were shaky, some deck boards were rotten and you could see through them. The hotub water was cloudy, not clean. Every nail and bolt in deck was rusty and stained the paint. The parking area has a pvc pipe leading down from house and human feces dropped out of it while we were there. The smell was horrible. We couldn’t really hang out below due to smell.

Thank you for allowing us to host you. We’re glad to hear you found the interior of the home clean, though we’re sorry some of the exterior conditions impacted your stay. We do want to provide a little context for future guests. This home is truly directly on the beach, and the salt air and coastal environment are particularly tough on exterior metal, so rust on nails, bolts, and other hardware is unfortunately a common part of beachfront living. We continually monitor and address exterior wear as needed. Regarding the hot tub, our maintenance team was working throughout the Labor Day holiday weekend, but we were not contacted during your stay about an issue with the hot tub. Had we known, we certainly would have been happy to have our team take a look. The sewer issue was unfortunately outside of our control. As was shared, we contacted the city multiple times during your stay and continued following up, but because it was a holiday, they were working through a heavy service load and advised that they would get to it as soon as they could. We completely understand how unpleasant the situation was, and we wish we had been able to resolve a city infrastructure issue more quickly ourselves. We always want our guests to have a comfortable and safe stay, and we’ll continue addressing the things we can control while recognizing that beachfront homes come with some unique coastal challenges.

View & deck with hot tub were great! Rooms were very comfortable—great beds & bed pillows—everybody commented. Kitchen was great & well supplied. Fishing was close & pier was great! I brought our own towels & washcloths & was very glad I did. I also brought muddy mat rugs as they kept most of the sand out. I’d highly recommend some matching runner rugs for the bedrooms as I kept slipping on the floor getting in bed. I bought their runners at home as the color & size selection is great & they don’t slip.Entry stairs were very daunting, very steep with no landing. Bathroom fixtures are old, out of date & hard water/calcium stained. Bathtub is old w/cheap surround & rattling shower doors & no way to use the hand shower sprayer. Toilet water is yellow no matter how many times you flushed. The owners’ manual provided said not to call because it would take a few minutes for fridge to cool down. 24 hrs later my milk turned too sour to use. It finally got cool-2 days later. Fridge icemaker is there but does NOT work. We went out for ice bags & shared w/our bait.Overall we had a great time at our family & friends reunion! We loved the house but not the stairs as we are in our 70s & they should either add an elevator or re-do the stairs so they aren’t so steep for seniors. My kids want to come back. My knees say I’ll pass.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at SeaScape Haven. The location allowed us easy access to beach, jetty, and surfing, as well as our dogs. We set up a kids pool under the house to keep the dogs cool and comfortable. The house was clean and as pictured. Interaction with other beachgoers is to be expected when the property sits right on the beach. It was not a problem for us. We are frequent visitors to Surfside and love this location. The hot tub was clean and easy to operate. We regretted not enjoying it until our last night. Appliances were good working order. The beds and linens were comfortable. We highly recommend SeaScape Haven!

This is a beautiful beachfront property with easy access to the water. My family had an amazing time, and we really enjoyed our stay.There are a couple of things that could be improved. First, the kitchen was short on silverware—we only found three forks, which wasn’t enough for our family of seven. Second, the water had a noticeable sulfur smell, and at times it had a brown tint.We also had a few instances where other beachgoers tried to set up chairs, coolers, and other beach gear underneath the house to get out of the sun. Since that area is part of the rental, we had to ask them to move.Overall, we had a wonderful vacation, and despite these minor issues, we really enjoyed the property and its excellent beachfront location.

SeaScape Haven was exactly what we needed for a wedding weekend; big enough place for several couples, ample bedrooms and bathrooms, great kitchen and right on the beach! Was great to sit out on the deck and watch the ocean, surfers and ships headed out into the Gulf. Living room, kitchen and bedrooms were well suited and nice having two ensuite bathrooms. Standard kitchen equipment was available and couches were comfortable. Deck had ample seating and while we didn't use the hot tub it was available. Parking at the house is a little dicey if you don't have four-wheel drive vehicle due to the depth of the sand, however the Jetty parking lot is only 50 yards away so not too much of an issue. As any beach front property, there's always going to be a few small issues but nothing that strongly detracted from the stay. Overall, great place and the 979 Crew was very communicative prior to arrival. Highly recommend!

The beach stay was great! Location was awesome and the house was really great. I had only 2 issues. All of the pictures show a fence, which clearly has been down for a couple of years. You should update that. Also, you did not communicate about the hot tub maintenance and the hot tub guy was cornered by our dog who figured he was an intruder. Other than those it wasa fantastic.

We've never been so close to the beach, no dunes (and no mosquitos). You are on the beach when you are on the deck and the house provides its own shade underneath and you are still by the waves. Spacious living room and kitchen, great and comfortable bed, and easy communication/check in. Loved our stay!

Sunsets absolutely beautiful! That alone made the place worth it! Quiet and lots to do. Being right on the beach is awesome. The house is spacious and nicely decorated. The host is proactive and friendly.

When we arrived there were neighbors parked in our spot that we had to ask to move, and people literally right in front of our property, almost under the house, touching the front piers of the home. The entire trip people were either under the house or trying to put their tents up right in front of our house. It was just a very frustrating experience if you plan on being at the beach every day. The inside was clean & updated, but the house is very small & you can hear EVERYTHING through the walls. Also there was a cat tree in the house & my son is allergic to cats. If you need extra toilet paper, paper towels, or trash bags they expect you to pay $35. We were also told to provide a list with names & ages & if anyone else came, it would be a $500 fee & eviction. (Told to me the day of check in,after I had paid already) Honestly, I would suggest NOT renting at this location & going farther down the beach to rent.

This beautiful home is literally right on the beach, and while beachgoers are not permitted to be under this home or in the driveway, all Texas beaches are public under the Texas Open Beaches Act. We agree, perhaps a less popular beach location away from the local activities and restaurants would be better for you based on your comments. As for the supplies, we do fully stock the home in advance with what most guests need and more; however, we just give an option for guests to request more merely as a courtesy. This is shared upfront for any planning purposes, and of course, you as a guest may certainly bring whatever you like at no cost from us. Yes, we do have a guest agreement which stipulates a max number of guests allowed in the home in the terms which is pretty standard. This was shared with you when you booked this home not at check-in (?) just like with all our guests. Again, we're sorry you didn't enjoy your choice more and perhaps doing a bit research on the location in the future would behoove you.

My husband and I spent 4 days in the wonderful beach home and the only time we were inside was to sleep! Lounging on the deck over the water watching the waves and the surfers was the most absolutely peaceful stress free 4 days. The house was beautiful and the decor was really pretty. Bed was comfortable. Everything was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked with everything needed to prepare meals. We stopped at the store and shopped for our meals, but everything else needed was stocked in the kitchen. Will definitely be coming back. Great use of space with the 4 bedrooms. The location of the house to the beach was just amazing. Really enjoyed watching the tankers, ships and barges going through the channel that was so close to the house. Great time. Definitely worth the money!!!

Das Innere des Hauses ist sehr ansprechend und gemütlich. Dies kann man jedoch nicht von dem Aussenbereich sagen. Terrasse und Terrassemöbel müssen renoviert oder ersetzt werden. Überall blättert die Farbe ab, das Haus sieht von aussen sehr ungepflegt aus verglichen mit den Häusern in der Nachbarschaft. Da man dieses Haus direkt am Meer bucht um viel Zeit draussen zu verbringen, waren wir sehr enttäuscht. Das Sofa auf der Terrasse war schmutzig und abgenutzt und ein Kissen komplett zerfetzt. Das Wasser im Whirlpool war grün und er funtionierte nicht. Das Kissen wurde ersetzt, aber nur das eine Kissen und in einer anderen Farbe, das Sofa sah nachher nicht viel besser aus. Für den kaputten Whirlpool bekamen wir sofort eine finanzielle Entschädigung zugesichert. Die Verwalter des Hauses waren sehr proaktiv und zuvorkommend aber leider entsprach die Terrasse nicht dem was man auf den Bildern sieht und worauf wir uns gefreut haben.

This home's photos were taken just 4 1/2 months ago, so they are current. However, this home does sit directly on the beach - sand, surf, sea air and all. It gets sand blasted regularly like all homes on the front row giving it somewhat of a weathered look in this scenic spot. That said, we will pass along your feedback on the outdoor furnishings to the owner. Again, we appreciate you staying with us!

Some mornings the gulf is smooth as glass with fishermen taking advantage of the calm and others it’s a surfers paradise! It’s also fun to watch the big oil rigs come and go. The house had everything we needed and when an item was missing from the description they were quick to remedy the situation. It was spacious and well stocked and a perfect fit for our two families to spend a week relaxing. Definitely recommend.

We found the place wonderfully with the instructions provided and gaining access to the property was perfect. Upon first glance everything was in great shape. The beds were super comfortable and when we had an issue they were responsive. However the property needs updated photos and a thorough cleaning. The couch is white and has many stains all over it. The guest bathroom needs maintenance to the floor in front of the shower. It was so soft to walk over that it felt unsafe. When we arrived the water filtration system was half way submerged under the sand which led to hardly any water flow to the house. We were unable to use the shower and it took the toilet about an hour to fill up to be able to flush. 979 was responsive and had maintenance on site rather quickly. The hot tub also lacks maintenance and was full of green water and floating algae. We also had to leave early due to hurricane Beryl. 979 disregarded our message regarding a resolution due to the issues we had.

Loved this place, will definitely return. I stayed here a week after a hurricane hit so the fence below the house was completely gone but it did not interfere with our stay at all. Loved this place, will definitely return.
I stayed here a week after a hurricane hit so the fence below the house was completely gone but it did not interfere with our stay at all.
The hot tub is amazing, facing the water and relaxing on the patio was the perfect way to end the beach day.
