I love staying here…the beach is just at the bottom of the stairs!!! This is my 3rd booking. It is clean and rather affordable considering the location right on the beach and all the included amenities. It is getting close to needing some remodeling…the floors are warping pretty bad. And, the bed springs are really noisy! Since I’ve stayed here before, I bring extra towels to use as rugs beside the bed, the front door and in front of the couch/futon so the sand doesn’t get spread all over the place. I like to be able to dust off my feet as I move around the place and especially before I get in the bed!

This place was amazing! Definitely recommend to anyone that wants to have beach access at the front of the door. Very peaceful and I was able to bring my fur baby to enjoy the getaway weekend with us.

Location can only go so far. The furniture had no padding. The king bed was a wore out spring mattress. The microwave was disgusting and not used. The floor boards in the living area were separated in at least twenty spaces. Had a 3’ rattle snake at the foot of the stairs, local police said warning signs should be posted. Do pay for Ocean view couldn’t be completed due to dirty windows. Stayed in other locations in the area before and didn’t have a bad experience so it can’t be a claim of a natural occurrence.

The location was amazing and right next to the access bridge for the neighborhood, but my unbiased answer about the accommodations inside are that they are alright. The unit is tiny, and it was a massive squeeze for 4 adults and our 2 dogs. But never mind the tiny kitchen, tiny bedroom, and tinier bathroom; that’s built into the building itself. I also feel like offering tiny soaps and sparing supplies was a choice and a drawback. There will be no beach towels, no extra linens/sheets/comforters/pillows for anyone who sleeps on the futon, and no larger than 2 oz size shampoo/conditioner/lotion packs. If you usually come to Airbnbs excited for the homey amenities, look elsewhere! Lastly, what might’ve killed my vibe the most was the endless online contracts we had to sign, and all the rules/fees that came with them. Never have I ever had to list out the names and ages of everyone staying, and be subject to a 30+ y.o. booking person rule. Dog friendly? The price for our 2 dogs was $200:)

Hi Katherine, thank you for allowing us to host your stay and so glad you found this direct beach and seaside location amazing! It really is a special spot. We are sorry to hear you didn't enjoy the place more, respectfully however, this seems like a poor choice on your part. The exact square footage, configuration (eg just 1 bedroom w/ a bed and then a futon), single page of provided inventory items (that was one of the documents you mentioned, not a contract, maybe would have been helpful to read it for your sake), and current photos of the furnishings in the listing are all provided in advance. We do agree, 4 adults and 2 dogs is too much, but again, that is the choice of the guest, their group, and their budget, not ours. Perhaps a single family home would have been a better choice for you in the future, although it certainly would not have been direct beachfront in the heart of Surfside for the same amount. As for the 2 dogs, we actually don't normally allow 2 dogs given the space and multiple units, rather just 1. We made a special consideration for you to be accommodating. We do hope you had a chance to spend some time on the beach and enjoyed the Surfside community. Thank you.

We were there for the location. It was great, right on the beach. The only downside was construction going on next door. So, we had a few days of pounding and sawing we had to put up with.

Great location and bad accomodations. If you rent unit 2, don't expect any sleep at night. The bed squeaks at every move. Do not expect to microwave anything, because the plate is missing. Do not expect to eat soup with spoons, there is only two spoons for all. The stove has 4 burners but only one works. Be prepared and have a great time. The beach view is great!

We haven't had any other guests mention the bed squeaking, but we will check it out and pass along your feedback to the owner. We also have our maintenance manager checkout the microwave and stove situation. As for the spoons, don't know where their friends went, but we'll bring in reinforcements. The reviews are true this place is gross but the beach view is amazing. There was a nasty smelling yellow liquid left in a fridge drawer, debirs on the living room floor and bathroom. When i called 979 to let them know they said sorry it was cleaned and asked me to send her pictures but i got no refund for the grossness. The place stated it came with a dishwasher but we didnt have one. The oven top heating element did not work. Dont even get me started on the nightmare you will endure if youre not on the top floor. It literally sounded like elephants crashing around and they dont care if you can hear them so enjoy the paper thin walls. There are plenty of the places to stay on the beach and i wish i would have done more searching and research.

We're sorry to hear you did not enjoy your time. The owners of this property have put a lot of effort into it, and continue to do so, to maintain and improve it. Being direct beachside makes for amazing views but also constant sand, salt, corrosion and humidity wear and tear. We also apologize if the clean was not up to standards, we would have gladly sent our housekeepers back right away. That said, if other reviews had mentioned the place being 'gross', we are curious as to why you would have even rented it then? As for a dishwasher, we do not advertise there is one, and you even initiated and signed the inventory list for this condo which specifically states dishwasher = no. Perhaps you were looking at another listing? As for the sound level, we're sorry to hear the other guests were a bit loud for your comfort, but to be fair, your stay was during Spring Break. The whole island was pretty active. Maybe a quieter time of year or separate house would have been a better option for you. Again, we're sorry you didn't enjoy the place more. There are plenty that do.

We enjoyed 4 nights here. It is right on the beach and we had fun resting and playing. The dishes were dirty, a stair was broken and the bed squeaked so bad it was barely any sleep. The futon is really small and only space for one person. The management fixed the stair and apologized for the dirty dishes. No luck on sleeping though. The condo was otherwise clean and free of mold (often a problem at the beach). It was quite sufficient for our needs.

We stayed during the recent tropical storm. Had really high tides, but we were lucky and did not flood. Beautiful location right on the beach! Needs a little updating for the price, but we enjoyed our stay. Need to be more forth coming with pet fees. Listing was vague about fees and costs. Cost an extra $220 for my two small pups that was charged after I booked and had already paid for my stay.

My partner and I absolutely loved our stay. The condo is as close to the beach as you can get and has all the essentials. We walked to a nearby bar and grill for some excellent sea food and spent most of our trip on the beach directly

First the location was exactly what we wanted. Off the porch and onto the beach with 24/7 surf view and surf sounds.; Property management has some issues. Seems to be conflict with this property or owner. The person checking the property prior to arrival must have simply opened the door to see that cleaning was finished. Nothing seems to have been inspected. Hazards were broken step on long entry stairs; lamp with no bulb in live socket; broken microwave; ceiling fan in bedroom almost self destructed; internet was out and living room TV did not work. Cox guy showed up late the second day (owner drove in from Houston to meet him) and removed broken router. This killed both TVs and left the property without internet assigned to it. Luckily I caught him before he left and got access to other building routers, otherwise there would have been no internet or television. Management did nothing for the TVs but I managed to figure them out. But, essentially 2 days were burned doing things that should have already been done. A few minor little things would make the stay more pleasant, such as a lamp near the couch for reading; towel bars or hooks in the bathroom and coat hooks elsewhere.

My wife and I had a great time with our 2 dogs, the apartment was clean and cozy, right on the private section of the beach and there was always a spot nearby to set up our spot right by the surf. There isn’t technically an outdoor shower but we had a spot right on the deck to wash ourselves and the dogs off before coming back inside and the ac was nice and cool for us. We would definitely come back!

Roaches and ants. Messaged the host, said it had been sprayed and that’s why they were dead. No, dead cause I killed them. Brought me spray, didn’t kill a thing. No discounts, no apologies. Just there cause it’s “on the beach”. Couldn’t leave dogs food down to eat because of the invasion of ants. Totally disgusting.

The condo smelled mold and nasty fabuloso when you open the door which also permeates into your luggage. The bed was super uncomfortable, with springs poking into our sides and backs and was super loud and squeaky,. The shower is so tiny a single adult can barely fit and the shower is not adjustable so my tiny teen was constantly sprayed in the face with no escape. floor was cracking and coming apart, walls were not fully painted, and don't even think about cooking in there. horrible. do not recommend and will never stay there again.

We decided to get away for a few days over the labor day weekend. A coworker recommended Surfside Beach to us so I got on my VRBO app and found this place. It was perfect for the two of us, and would have been very comfortable for four. It was clean, decorated nice, and the best part is that you walk out the door and you are on the beach. Will definetly stay there again.

Probably a good spot for a 20 something couple looking for a place to hang out at the beach but not for someone looking for a little more refinement. The place was clean but not appealing. When I passed on our disappointment to the leasing agent I got no response after the initial reply. We did not stay.

Good local restaurants. Some better than others. We were lucky and were the only tenants on the property. Started with a beautiful storm and cleared for the rest of the week. Beaches were clean and well maintained and patrolled.

My husband and I celebrated his 70th bday quietly- just the two of us. The location is excellent whereby the beach is just a few steps away. The bed and bedsheets were comfortable and clean. We had a very good night sleep on our first night but on the second night, we slept later than we used to because we heard a lot of running footsteps and jumping from the renters directly on top of us and newly arrived. We didn’t complain because we understand how it is with small children. The coffeemaker was not working and 2 out of 4 burners were not working. I made management aware so they can address the issues for the next renters. I would also recommend better cleaning of the toilet bowl. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.
