quiet and peaceful location with a FANTASTIC view. The owners were clear animal lovers as they left my baby doggie bags and a cute little dog treat. they left a personalized note as well. the kitchen was my favorite spot, I cooked breakfast with a GORGEOUS view of the beach. they're instructions were clear, the place was clean and beautiful, the access to the beach was something I wish I could always have. The guest book ❤️ i love that they want to have messages from all of their guests. its so personal, so beautiful. 10/10

We loved this house and the location! The view and beach access couldn't have been better. We appreciated how well the home was stocked and the extra amenities provided by the 979 crew like the bathroom soaps and doggy poo bags for our pets. We were so grateful to be able to bring our 2 dogs. We especially loved that bugs seemed to be non-existent on and around the property! We are unfortunately used to getting swarmed by mosquitos while stepping foot outside when renting other homes in Galveston, but this house was different. We were actually able to sit on the porch and drink our morning coffee or walk our dogs in the grass without being attacked by mosquitos! The walk to the beach was seamless and we were easily able to walk back & forth between the home & beach with our toddler and all the beach things. Thank you for an unforgettable trip!

We had a wonderful stay at the Sandy Seahorse! We celebrated our grandson’s second birthday and our daughter’s 35th . The home was beautiful and we found everything we needed for an amazing holiday.The view from the deck was priceless and the sound of the waves was so relaxing. We are hoping to return next year to celebrate and create more special memories!

Location to the beach is amazing and the best part of booking here. We found the home to be older, needing updates and were surprised how close to the road on the backside of the building we were. We did hear road noise but it was not disturbing at night. We found the home to be the least stocked we've ever stayed in so be prepared to bring all your necessities. We had 4 people and did not have enough towels or hand towels for the length of our stay. The kitchen had an adequate amount of plates and bowls but their serving items were severely lacking. Also, there is nothing in the pantry so be aware to provide your own seasonings and they didn't even provide a small quantity of bottled water, like we have seen everywhere else we have stayed. The master bed had body indents so you "fell" into them. The decorations are nice but you are definitely paying for location to the beach and not the quality of the home. The staff was available and friendly when we needed them.

Thank you for allowing us to host your stay, Jennifer! We agree this is quite the scenic spot, we appreciate you noting that. Respectfully, while we understand opinions on decor, mattress type, and outfitting are subjective, we're pretty confused by some of your feedback. As you can read from all of the other reviews, this home is in pristine condition, especially for a seaside home with all our sand, salt, and humidity (great at the beach, tough on homes). The owners of this home are particularly diligent and take a lot of pride in preserving their home. In fact, a whole brand new deck was installed and the entire exterior was painted just this February 2024, for example. As for the stocking, we haven't had anyone mention anything lacking before, but we will certainly do an inventory check again. Thanks again for staying with us.

The Sandy Seahorse was a great place just a stones throw from the beach, close enough to see, feel and walk back for lunch or additional beverages throughout the day. Super clean inside, and all the necessities needed. Fully stocked kitchen was nice to have meals cooked, and the space overall was perfect for us to relax. We had zero issues and would recommend this place for sure. Thank you!!

The place was very nice and spacious.. unfortunately the refrigerator was not cold at all on first day.. host said that was normal.. but also power continuously went out on 2nd day and the host was not accommodating at all

This is a nice house near the beach, thank you for noting Cheri! And yes, when you load an entire refrigerator full of groceries and have the door open as you do, it takes time to catch up. Unlike at home when you add groceries incrementally and cool items are already in there, this is all at once. This is not unique to this refrigerator nor home, and in fact, there are even refrigerator magnets made for vacation rentals to this end. :). As for the power fluctuations, we're not sure what the expectation here was on our part. We aren't a power company (in this case Centerpoint), we are a vacation rental company. There were 3200 homes in the area experiencing the same and the utility company was actively working on it. You were also given the option to depart early. We're sorry if you felt we were not accommodating, but we simply do not control the power. We wish we could. Thank you for allowing us to host you.

great place to stay, only issue we encountered was check in process. check in was after 4pm and we didnt get there until 9pm and there was three agreements that needed to be signed before check in i wasnt aware of before they would release the door code. im not familiar with using airbnb so when we arrived and didnt have a door code we ended up having to contact airbnb customer service to get assistance. about an hour later airbnb was able to get ahold of the host and have them send over the door code. besides that the beach house was great and only 5 min walk to the beach! would recommend !

As for the code, yes, we do not issue the code until the guest agreement and information is completed, as this provides you, us and the owner with the insurance during your stay and also gives you helpful information regarding the home and your experience. We communicated this not only once, but actually 4 times prior to your arrival. We're sorry you were frustrated, but we're not sure how much more we could communicate this with you. Again, we do appreciate you allowing us to host you and so glad you had a great time!

Overall a great place to stay! Near water within short walk and cozy home. Pet friendly and clean! Watch out for crazy neighbor who screamed at us for slightly stepping on his grass. Other than that, I would definitely rent again!

Looking for your perfect vacation spot? You have found it here! The location is perfect, the beach is private, and this home has everything and more. We came down as part of my surgical recovery. I mostly stayed clear of the beach, but my family could not have had a better time. If you must lay low, this home has all the comforts that allow you to do so. We come down every summer, I’m thinking we’ve found the perfect spot to return to year after year. Thank you!!! ☺️

This was a perfect property for a relaxing family weekend. It is a very short walk to the beach and loved being able to see the ocean from the living area and the porch. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare all meals and dishes and glasses and serving bowls were great quality. The beds were comfortable and the decor in the property was all with a beach theme and well done. The property details are accurate and just as described. We will fore sure be back soon. I highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a great location, the beach is literally steps from the door. We brought our dogs and having the outdoor shower enabled us to bath them to be sure they did not track sand in to the property.

We were in town to visit my son at the Texas A&M Maritime Academy. The house was ideal for its location to the school, and access to the beach. Several of my sons friends came over and hung out in the spacious yard and accommodations on the deck. We all had a really good time.

The view of the gulf is outstanding. The beach is steps away, and without having to cross a street to get there. Galveston is a 15 to 20 min drive, but well worth the distance to be on the beach. Lots of great restaurants in Galveston, mostly seafood, but also excellent options for those who don't like seafood. We stayed 2 weeks, and did not run out of things to do or see.

Easy access to the beach and nice decks and below deck patio. I wish we could have had a few more towels for 6 people. You may want to bring a few extra from home. Great house!

We enjoyed a week here in this clean well kept home. Location is great with very short walk to beach and great view of the ocean from the deck of house. We made use of the provided beach cart, bags game, board games and puzzles. Kitchen was well stocked for preparing the meals when we ate in. The beds were super comfy.

Very clean. Excellent location. It rained so was a little messy. But that’s winter on the beach. Had problems with the a/c but the management team was wonderful. They had someone out that evening. Thank you. Property needs a little tlc. Enjoyed. The slider needs to be fixed so you don’t have to go in the house through the bedrooms. Especially since it was windy and wet. Thanks for sharing your home.

Did not receive our pass code and had to call and text several times and finally received the code an hour after check-in time. The sliding glass deck door does not work and needed to use the bedroom door to enter and leave. The Keurig coffee pot is very unusual with no instructions in-house or on-line.

The only issue we had was the refrigerator door. I cooked a full Thanksgiving meal and everything I needed was in the kitchen. Everything was so nice. The view was spectacular and the walk to the beach. even with a toddler was super easy. The living spaces were extremely comfortable . I will definitely rent this house again. It is perfect for a small family. I even ended up sleeping on the couch and it was very comfortable.

The property and location were absolutely fantastic! You are literally a 2-3 minute walk to the beach. The layout of the property was also perfect with each bedroom and bathroom located on separate sides of the house. I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a perfect vacation. We stayed in this wonderful home for 7 days and loved every minute of it! It was very clean and spacious enough for us, our pup and ny parents visited. The ocean is where we find peace and solace and can really unwind. We will be back ❤️

I normally don't leave reviews unless I am really disappointed or really excited and this place truly impressed me. I don't even know where to start. The layout/floorplan is ideal if you have family or small group - two bedrooms and two bathrooms on the opposite sides of the house with large kitchen/dining/living area in the middle. Comfortable furniture and tasteful beachy décor. Huge porch with a perfect view of the ocean. Literally, steps to the beach and the beach is private! The kitchen was stocked with anything you may need - dishes, utensils, cookware, bakeware, even tupperware for leftovers. If you don't plan on cooking, not a problem - Galveston is less than 10 min away, and a few places to go to or order from right around the corner. A lot of games to play indoor and outdoor, beach gear and so much more. Even though the weather did not cooperate very well the house and location made up for it. Definitely booking this place for the next trip to the gulf. Fingers crossed it's available.
