Sand Dollar 7 Unobstructed Ocean Beachfront

We had a great time here. Great access to the beach and local restaurants. We’d rent it again. Parking was tight. If you had all 6 condos full, parking would be a nightmare. Lot was deep with sand. Had to put in 4x4. Looked like a remodel in progress. Had some walls that were patched and painted a different color. The bathtub was rusting and they tried to caulk it, but you can definitely see where that happened. If you’re traveling with a small family, be sure and bring a blow up mattress. My wife and girls (5&8) crashed in the bed and I slept on the couch. It was comfortable enough for 2 nights, but that’s about it. Not big enough to sleep 2 people. Needs some TLC on the outside with a weed eater. Had bags of concrete and old boards with nails beneath the condos. Needs a couple more pans. Was going to make breakfast but didn’t have a baking sheet to make biscuits or cinnamon rolls. Water wouldn’t really get hot and was an off color, but you’re on the island so that may be expected.

Overall was a great stay (July 2-6). Location is amazing as you are right on the water. Was easy to go back and forth from beach to the room for lunch, restroom, or a nap. We stayed on the top floor (3rd level) and view was great and very nice to wake up to watching the waves crashing and had people fishing every morning on the surf. Two good restaurant (.25 and .5 miles away) that are walkable along with an ice cream shop at the enterance of the road to the condo. Grocery stores are about a 5 minute drive but with limited produce/meats. The condo is a bit dated, but about what you'd expect for a beachfront condo. We'd have no problem booking again and most likely will do so next summer. Only thing we couldn't figure out was the termostat. We'd set the termostat at 74, but would never set. It remained about 65 degrees at all times, nice at times, but got a little chilly at night. Pack an extra blanket if your sleeping on the couch.

Great location!! Close to places to walk too on the beach. WiFi worked perfectly and there was just enough of everything for the weekend. Can’t wait to go back!

This spot is right on the beach and so convenient. You can walk to a restaurant to eat or stay in to cook. It has want you need for a beach rental. It’s not fancy but perfect for what we needed to reset.

4/9 thru 4/15 2024 Spent five nights in Surfside. Weather was beautiful, beach was clean and fairly empty on the weekdays. Caught a mess of fish in the surf right in if the property. Recommend renting a golf cart for a few days and enjoying the beach all along the city limits. The view from the deck was fantastic. A great set of binoculars is a plus. All in all our experience was in Surfside was great.

We really enjoyed our stay and the proximity to the beach cannot be beat. We are no strangers to surfside and it was nice being right on the stand and walkable to the restaurants was also a huge plus. We loved the linens and thought the bed was very comfortable.

We loved being right on the beach and able to cook dinner in the room each night. We loved being on the top deck but the 32 steps up were a challenge.

This home was filthy when I arrived. Weeks worth of dead bugs, broken glass light fixture, dirty fridge—it was gross. The lock on the door did not function appropriately, it would lock sometimes, but not consistently. When locked, the lock wouldn’t immediately open when I entered the code. I requested assistance and was told that it was a pneumatic lock I didn’t hear. They said they would send out maintenance because there was a huge gap in the door and the door frame. I asked for a time frame when they would arrive and I requested a 24hr number I could contact if I was locked out—no information was shared and a gap remained in the door. The location was great, right on the beach, but the stress and worry about the door caused me to leave early. What’s the point of being hot and sweaty (because the door didn’t close) in a gross place? I can do that at home. . I received no response when I emailed the rental place. The road to the house is entirely sand and turns into a river when it rains. Very unhappy.

This is our go to place to stay when we come to Surfside Beach. You can't beat the location with it being directly on the beach. We will definitely be back!

We were so disappointed in this rental. We walked in and seen bugs all over the ceiling. We went to use a broom to sweep them down, and the broom was broke in half. The door didn't have a good fit closing. That's why there were so many bugs. The return vent was rusty and very dirty. Then we noticed that the light fixture over the sink was broke and holes in the wall. We tried to turn the tv on and that was also not working. When we came back from the beach, we noticed a roach in the bedroom. The next morning we tried to make coffee in the coffee maker, and the spring was broke inside the filter holder.I took pictures of every defect in this unit.

Not our first stay here. The rooms are very clean. The kitchen has everything you need to be able to cook your own meals . We stayed 3 nights . Enjoyed every minute! vrbo made it easy!

The location of this property is wonderful. If you don't mind a really shabby property that needs a deep clean, then this rental will suffice. They need a professional handyman to fix the front door and lock. They also need a cleaning service that cleans! The light switches were almost black with fingerprint grime. All the doors and door handles need sanitizing. The refrigerator door was grimy. I ended up wiping down things just so I could open & close doors with confidence. The bed was smaller than advertised and shook whenever a person moved. I wiped up a spill of water on the floor and my paper towel was black. Mopped floors would have been nice. The AC was ok, but don't expect an evenly cool rental. The living room was cold and the bedroom was hot.

Check-in was a breeze. However, the condo itself needs updates. The floor had chipping, the bathroom had several rusty areas including a completely rusted shower caddy. It seemed the condo was recently painted as their was paint splatter all over the floor and in the bathroom sink. When walking around on the deck porch the whole house seemed to sway. For the price and for alsl a service charge their are other much better condos. Would not recommend.

The beach apartment was well appointed, and clean. Appliances are dated, but in good working condition. TVs are new and good size. Outstanding beach front on beautiful, clean sand beach. Safe, upscale neighborhood. Good restaurants near by. The multi level porches offered great views and privacy from the other units in the building. Had a relaxing holiday. Shower temp and water pressure was a nice surprise.

This was one of many times we’ve gone to Surfside, it’s one of our favorite places. I will say this place has the perfect view to the beach and the access was top notch. The house itself had a lot of issues. I understand December isn’t the ideal time to come, but with a weekend full of sun and higher than normal temps, we jumped on it. Saying that, the entire time we were there, workers were repairing the balcony. They were kind, but walking out our door to them RIGHT there was awkward, not to mention the early morning greeting of a nail gun nonstop. In addition, the bathroom was gross, complete with hair in the drain, you had to wear shoes in the house to avoid cutting your feet on uneven boards. There was a coffee pot, but no filters for it. The “couch/futon” was literally falling apart covered by a top sheet to avoid seeing it. Has we had more than just the two of us, the person that would have been sleeping on this would not have had a blanket or a pillow as there was no extras for that. BUT if all you care about is the view or beach access, this is the spot.

Beach access was great, perfect views. The couch bed was not comfortable, there's plenty of room in the bedroom to put bunk beds or another full/queen bed for better sleeping options. Also the kitchen supply was lacking, if i choose to stay here again we will bring an air mattress and cooking supplies.

We had a fabulous vacation. The location is excellent - just two flights of stairs and you are on the beach! The condo had the necessary equipment you need for your stay; I cooked several meals, the only issue being the oven took longer than expected to cook the meal. The water pressure in the shower was good, the towels soft & clean. The refrigerator kept the food/drinks cold. The AC kept the entire condo cool; in fact the kids felt it was too cold! This was our second time staying at this condo facility.The photo is our last morning sunrise at Surfside!

It’s a tad dirtier and worn than the pictures let on. Kitchen utensils and cookware were worn. Saw bugs when we first arrived but didn’t see any after the first day. Property management were kind and prompt with concerns. The water is brown and smells like the ocean. Bring your own water to drink and cook with. If you want to be right on the beach, this is the place! The deck was perfectly shaded. Lots of pros and cons.

Beachfront home with stairs leading directly to the beach and a million dollar view of the Gulf sunrises from the deck that are not to be missed. Be sure to get up early, grab a coffee and enjoy This is a single bedroom apartment with a living room / kitchen and a full bath. The bed was very comfortable with quality linens in good condition. Bath towels were oversized and seemed quite new. The kitchen featured just the basics (refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster), a variety of pots and pans, dishes, mugs and glassware, utensils, can opener, etc. A few basic things that I felt were missing and that would have been nice to have were a cutting board, a colander, measuring cups, teaspoons (there were soup spoons), and a bath mat. Other amenities that I would have liked have include beach towels and beach chairs. This is an older property that could use some updating due to age and weathering. Be careful of walking barefoot on the deck. Some boards are warped and there are a few nail heads working their way up. Water pressure was good and there seemed to be plenty of hot water. The local water does seem to have an off smell to it. We used bottled water for cooking and making coffee.Any criticism I have should be viewed as just nuisance issues. I have to say that we had a wonderful stay. Surfside is one of the most walkable beaches I have been on. Watch out for cars and golf carts, though. I would recommend this property and I would stay again.

The condo is an older building but kept up well. Furnishings are inexpensive but served their purposes. Bed was comfortable and towels and linens were of good quality. We would stay there again.

The stay was really good and it gets no better than beachfront. Try to get a bottom room if possible, that's alot of stairs to the top. Everything was as described I guess but the deck was wobbly and needed a little work, but it is pretty tall so I could understand that. The view of the ocean from up there is AWESOME, the hidabed for the kids was hard so bring a pad for it, not just blankets. But the bedding and pillows for the bedroom were really good, very comfortable and I'm a guy who likes my own bed and pillow,, I slept like a rock.

I wanted to be right on the beach....and this was the place!! Get your beach attire on and your walking legs! I stayed on the third floor and got my exercise, but goodness what a view!!! Every morning and every night! The perfect "just me" getaway. Could comfy the place up a bit with better furniture, but bed was good. All in all gets an A!!!

The property has the basic amenities for a short stay. Location is beach front and ideal, but in the middle of people, so not a quiet getaway. This is a no frills place. No DVD player. Decent bed, shower, ok for spending most of your time on the beach or large porch.

Although we left refreshed and thoroughly enjoyed being right on the beach, the accommodations were a bit disappointing. Think 50's, one BR apt with very little decor, only a basic clothes bar (no shelf) & water warped attic door access above, inexpensive furniture (Wal-Mart/Target type) and lousy paint touch up. No hooks for hanging stuff in bath or by door (for towels) and only a wooden bench to sit on on the deck; no lounge chairs or beach chairs. Only the VERY BASICS in the kitchen, including a vintage oven/stove with crummy foil wrapped burner pans... absolutely nothing extra. Also no outstanding notices staying water was unfit to drink or cook with... Just accidentally found that info in the notebook about policies etc. Fortunately we had brought bottled water with us, but we didn't think to bring chairs so had to go buy some. Had a great time getting to know a few of the other occupants over the weekend then had the place to ourselves. We appreciated having washer and drier available to us but felt the need to "clean it up" (sweep, wipe down & cleanup) the laundry area before introducing my clean laundry to it. (Also there was no waste basket for drier lint, used drier sheets, etc.) We loved the beach but in the future we will look into some of the newly renovated properties with a few more amenities.

Dishwashing liquid was watered down so much it was useless. Had to buy some. Drain stopper didn’t work. Had to buy another one. Floor so uneven and buckled in places. Kept tripping

What a wonderful experience ! Location fabulous! Property clean and comfy. Absolutely everything concerning rental, check in and out and overall communication well organized and efficient . Worry free all the way ! The beach is clean and well monitored by local law enforcement. Having direct beach access is well worth it, this will be my escape location from this point forward !! Thanks for the great experience.
