We had an amazing family trip at this property. Everything was perfect from the communication, checkin/out instructions and the AC was amazingly cold. The views were amazing and the beach was family oriented, clean and safe. We would love to stay here again next time we are in Surfside.

This was a nice stay for Surfside Beach. Spacious and comfortable living space for a beach house. The upstairs was warmer and not as cool. Caused people not able to sleep. Dehumidifier might help that and better mattresses for beds. Linens were mot luxurious. Otherwise everyone in the party enjoyed the time and beach. Thank you!

Thank you for allowing us to host your direct seaside stay, Lori! We're so glad you enjoyed your beach time and found this home's layout comfortable for your group. We appreciate the feedback/suggestions. It, unfortunately, is usually a bit warmer upstairs at most beachside homes given heat rises. It does help to keeping the blinds shut and balcony doors closed when not in use. However, this home is dual zoned so perhaps one of the ACs was lagging. We'll check it out. We hope to host you again.

Absolutely A little piece of Heaven!! Worth every penny!!! Our family had a difficult time leaving this vacation home. Very beautiful, Clean, very well equipped in the kitchen. Loved the private walkway to the beach.

Wonderful beach house. The location is perfect and the walk-over access to the beach house was clutch. We couldn't have asked for a cleaner house with so much natural light. The water was calm and the water depth stayed shallow for a bit out, making it an exceptional option for our small children.

After an unexpected snafu and having to check in to a different beach house than we reserved, we were “upgraded” to another beach house with a terrible roach infestation, no easy beach access even though the house is on the beach, and in close proximity to a bar. When I reported the roaches to 979, they brought over a can of roach spray! We had 3 asthmatics and 2 infants in our party. We have had roaches in our purses, diaper bags, shoes, everything. They were even in the dishwasher, refrigerator, and on the dining table. The place appeared clean and decorated real pretty, but the roaches were awful. The “upgrade” was a smaller house than reserved. Smaller rooms, smaller living area, smaller kitchen, and a smaller table that are whole group could not sit at together. I will not be recommending 979 to anyone. We didn’t report it, but air conditioning was preprogrammed at 78°. Add humidity and it was miserable and not conducive to a good nights sleep.

As you mention Denise, this review is not for this home. We're sorry you didn't enjoy your stay more at the home we had to move you to as an alternate last minute and apologize for any inconvenience as a result. It was not at the fault nor result of either of our actions just happenstance. Regarding the home we moved you to, respectfully, it is definitely a much bigger home with even more amenities. It just doesn't sound like you liked the layout, which we do understand is subjective. While all our homes are on regular and professional pest control as is necessary on the coast, it sounds like the roaches were being real buggers for you. They are certainly not invited guests, and we contacted pest control to take a stronger approach. They do love our coastal setting. We would have been happy to assist you with setting the AC and wish you had for your sake. Again, we're sorry you didn't enjoy your direct seaside time more.

This was our group’s 2nd time staying at Salty Sunrise. We love the location being right on the beach. The home’s layout works great for our group with multiple families and young kids. We had a few concerns during our stay that were quickly addressed by the 979 team. They are responsive, friendly, and have team members nearby if in-person assistance is needed. We will be back again in the future and would recommend this property to others.

You cannot beat the location with how close it is to the beach! It comfortably fit 3 families that joined on vacation. The main negative is that the bottom floor is all sand with no concrete and it makes it VERY difficult to keep sand out of house and vehicles.

We checked in and then 36 hours later there was a hurricane. We left when the storm surge had water at the steps of the home. I contacted the host and they said they would refund us for the 5 days we didn't get to stay. The home was damaged and without water or AC and the steps were washed away. We stayed one night of our 7 night reservation. However, the refund given was much less than it should have been and they were unresponsive after that. I have asked repeatedly for a detail of the refund so I could see how it was calculated. I have heard nothing after numerous attempts through the app and voicemail. I will not be staying with this host again. The customer service is nonexistent.

Helen, yes, it is really unfortunate your trip was cut short due to an unforeseen hurricane Beryl. It was also devastating to this owner's and our staff's (all locals I might add) own homes. We're sorry you felt the response time was slow; however, without power, without internet, and spotty at best cell signals with SOS showing on our phones, you can imagine, communication to you let alone any or our guests (and even family members), proved more than challenging. That said, you reached out on July 9 at 10:31pm, and we responded within less than 2 hours at 12:31am. Most would consider that impressive, especially given the circumstances. It is too bad you were so quick to write this review, as in the end, you did confirm you received a response and you were refunded properly. Furthermore, we are not the merchant of record, Airbnb is. Mother Nature was not kind during your stay, and we're both sorry about that. Thankfully, this is a resilient community and folks are back at the beach and enjoying their island time.

The house was great, just as expected. Appreciated that some beach supplies were left from other guests since the inventory sheet doesn’t mention the house having any and we weren’t able to bring much flying in.

First the good - the house is set up well and has direct access to the beach. It is easy to find and has plenty of parking. We felt very safe there. Potential guests should know that there is only 1 towel and 1 washcloth per guest - that's it. There are only 3 laundry pods, 3 dishwasher pods, and 3 garbage bags - very bare minimum. So you will need to bring your own of all of these things - paper towels and toiler paper are also limited. Maybe this is the way rentals are done now. Our biggest issue was the AC was broken and was unable to be repaired "because it was the weekend" - I don't have enough characters left in this review to go through all the details but it wasn't great. Management company communicated well and did refund 1/5 of the cost - which was nice but not enough for all the issues we had (not all mentioned here but I did inform management each time something broke). If all broken things are fixed, this will be a great place to stay; just our stay wasn't great

Thank you for noting this is great home in a great beachside location, Dana, we agree! As for the AC system, we're sorry it failed during your stay and wish the contractor could have repaired it immediately when he was there. We are on an island and speciality parts aren't readily available. However, the AC system has since been entirely replaced since. Regarding broken things, we appreciate you noting our staff was nice and communicated well. However, we do not appreciate your group throwing bottle caps in the sink and getting them seized up in the disposal then contacting us to come repair it during your stay, which we did. It seems you and your group were pretty rough on the home which wasn't so great for us nor the home either. Based on our interactions, it seems perhaps a hotel would be a better suited for your group and expectations.

Salty Sunrise was perfect for our group of 7. The layout was conducive to housing a lot of people. They say can house 14 people, and the kitchen supplies support that notion--plenty of cookware and silverware. The upper and lower decks, marvelous! Plenty of seating, partially shaded! The beach access could not have been better, and we can't wait to go back!

We loved, loved, loved our visit here! Beach walks, well-appointed kitchen, super comfy beds, responsive hosts and beautiful surf sights & sounds. There were 6 of us, and our bedrooms were all perfect for our needs. The extra touches like shoe cleaners on the deck to get all the sand off our shoes, dusk to dawn light for the outside stairs and the welcome basket were all much appreciated.

House was located right on Surfside Beach with private walkway to the beach. The space fit our group well and they had a few games, puzzles, and toys to keep the kids entertained. The one thing that put a blemish on our stay was one of the bathrooms was missed during cleaning. We found an “unpleasant surprise” in one of the toilets. Other than that. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend and rent this property again.

We stayed at salty sunrise over labor day weekend. We had 4 kids and 4 adults and the house fit us perfectly. This house had everything thought of from the dishes to the laundry soap provided. Garage downstairs had all kinds of beach toys available for use. The private walkover to the beach was perfect since the beach was crowded due to the holiday. We were able to go down to the water when we wanted and back up to the house to eat and get out of the sun. We had a great stay and will definitely be back!

The house was lovely and so clean. We were a family of 11. Parents, adult children, and grandchildren. The house was perfect for a group, lots of room. The deck area was so nice, very nice deck furniture. The kitchen was very well equipped for homemade meals. The beds were very comfortable. If you're looking for something besides a beach vacation, this might not be for you. The immediate area is very limited for groceries and restaurants. We had a great time just hanging around by the water and going for walks. The grandchildren loved to swim and skim board. The property management was very responsive anytime I had a question, but we had no reason to contact them while we were there. Everything was as described and pictured. I would not hesitate to rent this house again.

The property was great for our group. The location is as good as it gets for that area, right on the beach with a crossover directly from the main floor balcony. The home was spacious, clean, and well-stocked. Our only issue was accessing the WiFi.
