Phoenix Rising Chill Beach Vibes 4 Decks

Booked for a quick last minute trip. Very short walk to the beach. And we don’t know if it was the location or the time that we went, but the beach was nearly private with maybe 10 small groups visible from where we were.

we stayed for an entire month and just loved it. So pieceful and quiet area. We loved all of our daily walks on the beach. The house was great and had everything that one needed. Great place to relax and unwind for a winter break.

You must supply your own drinking water. This was not disclosed before our arrival. It’s very difficult to bring water/jug when you’re travelling 3500 Km’s. There should be at least one 18L bottle of water supplied. The house is looking its age, it needs updates. Locks are seized, some faucets need to be replaced, there are holes in the screens. One bathroom is so extremely small that you can barely turn around. It’s not suitable for a large adult. The beds are comfortable, the towels are luxurious. Ocean views from all the decks and a very short walk to the beach.

Thank you for allowing us to host your stay in Surfside, Gwen! we appreciate you noting the lovely ocean views from the 4 decks and convenient spot to the beach. We're delighted you enjoyed the beds and luxury bedding and towels - comfort is our goal! As for the water, while the Village of Surfside Beach's supplied water is of poor quality to drink/cook, this home actually features an advanced filtration and RO DRINKING water system (which is in the listing and shared proactively on the inventory doc you initialed). And while you certainly may get water jugs filled at city hall, it would not be necessary for this home. We apologize if there was any confusion. As for one of the three bathrooms being small, we haven't heard that from any other guests but appreciate your feedback. We will also have our maintenance team check out the locks and faucets. We are on the coast with humidity and salt, always tough on metal, but we aren't aware of any issues. Thanks again for staying with us!

It had everything we could possibly need and more. My only complaint is that the upstairs could have been cooler. It pretty much stayed warm up there all times. Other then that it was a great house!

We rented this house for a long weekend. The photos don't really give you the feeling of house close to the beach you are at this property. It is just a few minutes walk (if that) from the beach. There's no need to take EVERYTHING to the beach, as you can easily go back and grab things as you want/need them. The house is perfect for a family. It would work well for two or three couples that want to rent a place. All three bedrooms have queen beds, so one couple wouldn't be stuck in bunk beds, as is often the case on beach homes. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything you will need and more. Check-in was very easy and painless. A/C is good enough to keep up with the Texas heat. Overall, a very pleasant experience.

We had a great time. The location to the beach was good. We had everything we needed supplied and more. The only downside was two outside patio chairs were broken which could have ended badly. Also loose and broken boards on the balconies. The tub area in the back bedroom had stucco on the faucet and the shower curtain should’ve been replaced. The TV set up in the bedroom had hanging wires etc. we didn’t want to attempt to turn it on. The bed was uncomfortable because the foam under the “burnt or stained” mattress cover was bunched up. We had to reposition it all. The minor “disrepair” did not dampen our view of this place as nothing is perfect. We would rent here again!

This is the perfect location for spending full days on the beach! Easy walk-over allowed us to go back and forth as needed. The house is a comfortable and well-kept 3 Queen bedroom, 3 full bath, 4 deck home. Great kitchen, spacious living/dining area. The only bad part was having to leave - we will definitely be back!

Good property for people on a budget. If you are looking for an absolutely prestine property, this is not it. However, it is a great value and the aesthetics did not impact our ability to have a great time there.

We had amazing time celebrating our son’s 18th birthday with a couple of friends. The rental was clean and had everything we needed. It’s very relaxing and laid back. Thank you for such a wonderful time.

Had a nice stay for a long weekend into 2021 place was nice and was well stocked. The 2 balcony bedrooms have on suite toilets one is very small and smaller beds. The middle bedroom has a larger bed which would have suited my wife and me but did not have a bathroom or balcony so that was the main downside of the rental. The are was nice and theres a great beach bar and restraunt a short walk along the beach.

Our stay at the Phoenix Rising was wonderful! From sitting on one of the 4 balconies with a glass of wine and watching the sun set to staying up late playing cards. Then starting the morning making breakfast and then taking a 3 minute walk to the beach. We booked a 3 night 4 day stay and on our check out morning we were wishing we would have booked a week. We will be back. Thank you for renting out your beautiful beach house.

Clean, well stocked with what you need. Good location. Short walk to the water. Wish the chairs on the deck were a little taller so you can see the view better sitting. The deck rail is right in the way. Other than that it was a great stay.

The beach house had everything we needed--tableware, dishes, pots/pans, toaster, both Keurig and drip coffee makers, water filtration system, stacked washer/dryer, grill, linens, towels, WIFI, margarita machine--plus nice ocean views. With 3 bedrooms and 3 baths, there was plenty of space for 4 adults and a child and 2 dogs. Short walk to the beach; several local restaurants within walking distance. About 1-5 hours drive (for us)makes this an ideal destination for a last-minute trip for a long weekend.

Great location with 3 min walk to beach. House was nice but pictures make rooms seem larger. Under rooms descriptions the wording seems that there is a bath/shower in each room. One is down stairs. Fully stocked for cooking and eating but bring paper plates as most of the dishes are glass. Oh... and the water there smells bad and the water dispenser in the living room was not working and not fit for drinking so don't forget to bring plenty of bottled water. Broken figurine on livingroom table... I took a pic to prove we didn't break it. A/C and fans kept it nice and cool. Beds were comfy. The house does not supply any beach equipment so bring chairs, beach cart etc. Beach bar was great fun... and you can hear the bands from the back deck. Overall... had agreat bday weekend.

The location of Phoenix Rising is great for walking to the beach and watching the sunrise and set. The layout of the house is perfect for 2 adult couples with 2 bedrooms having ensuite bathrooms. Hosts provides basic items for bathroom and kitchen.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. We love Surfside! The location was great with easy beach access down the street. The multiple decks were amazing for enjoying beach views without sand. However, with this property being pet friendly it would have been helpful to have a permanent swinging gate on the main deck. Several maintenance issues were unappealing. The outside shower head had a lot of algae growing off of it. The tub/shower faucet in one of the upstairs bedrooms was corroded and made it impossible to turn the shower head off and run bath water. The water sprayer in the kitchen sink also could not be used due to corrosion. Even though the booklet inside said that professional pest treatment is used at the house we saw too many live roaches in the kitchen to believe that. If you are wanting a beach themed house this is not for you, as the house is decorated more like a rental in NOLA.

Everything was great even though this area had just suffered a hurricane blow. It’s understandable that property owners cannot control pick-up of debris piles out in front of properties. Management always worked with us on anything that came up. We had to extend our stay 3 times due to a death in our family in town while we were there. The house was great and had nice views too. The house is kept nice and everything in working order. Thank you for a great stay!!

The Phoenix Rising beach house was a wonderful place to stay, we would love to stay there again in the future. We enjoyed our time there immensely. Very close to the beach for walking as well as seeing the waves from the balconies. Set up presentation when we first entered the house was very welcoming and perfect beach vibes! Reallly appreciated the cleanliness and classy deco of the interior of the house. There were a few problems with the wifi, and a broken bannister railbracket up the stairs inside the house, also some unsafe railings that had weathered loose on the decks outside. However, we did alert the proprietors of these problems and they responded and fixed these issues very quickly. Overall house conditions: The 3rd bedroom with the bath does need to have new fixtures for the bathtub, because you cannot change the shower head to flow into the bath spigot of the bathtub, it is frozen from corrosion, so water will only come out through the shower head. Also the drain and plug will not hold water for a proper bath. Lastly, when there was a major rainstorm with sideways rain hitting the house one day. We noticed the front balcony door to the living room had serious leaks around the door frame at the top and the glass door also leaked from the seals where the blinds inside the door are. We put the door mat under the door to catch the water that was dripping during the storm. All these are minor problems, overall we enjoyed our stay!

House was nice. There were a few things I wish I’d known before going. There was no toddler plates or eating wear. And the baby gate that was in the house was broken. We bought our own to help keep our kiddos safe. We have a 1.5 and 3.5 year old. Also the listing shown that there was a bathtub. In one of the room's there is a bathtub, but it doesn’t hold water and the stopper is completely unattached from the tub. So my kids hated bath time and screamed each and every time we had to shower. The garbage disposal in the kitchen did not work and the sink on that side did not drain. The broom that is there has seen better days and I’d love to have swept the sand more often, but it was a pain. Over all it was a great stay and had a great time. Beds were comfy. Living area spacious. Could see the beach from the couch. Amazing views from all four decks. My kids loved the wooden blocks and played with them often. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

My fiancé and I wanted a quiet place to spend New Years and this house was just what we asked for. It has a great kitchen with updated appliances. Three bedrooms upstairs so if you want to come with a larger group, the early birds and night owls can be separated. Porches on both sides of the house have great views of the ocean and it is a very short walk to the beach. My only complaint would be the weather. It started raining on Saturday and didn't let up until the day we were leaving. :(. The property manager is very nice and easy to work with. I would definitely stay here again or any house managed by 979! Thanks!

Have been to this location several times in the past 18months. Every trip was very memorable. Accomodations were what was expected. Kitchen was very well supplied with the necessary tools. Very comfortable in living areas as were the bedrooms. Would recommend this location to everyone. Area has some wonderful restaurants with GREAT food. Hope you enjoy your stay

This 3 bedroom house has all the amenities of home but all within a 1 block walk to beach. We felt welcomed and although such a sad event had brought us to the area, having this house to relax, reflect and refresh in helped. Slept with the doors to the MANY scenic porches open helped usher in some of my best sleep in years. Our pups loved it, too, as they ran from porch to porch while we were inside and splashing in the Gulf when we were at the beach. If you get a chance to rent this place, take it!! You will NOT be disappointed!!

This was a perfect place for our family. We were able to walk right to the beach and play in the waves, it was amazing! It was so much fun and just what the doctor ordered. We took advantage of visiting the Houston Zoo and NASA too. We found some wonderful places to eat but also cooked several meals at “home.” The kitchen was well equipped and the house was very clean and beautifully decorated. Phoenix Rising was such a comfortable place for all of us, three children and three adults. We were even able to wash our clothes onsite. We made wonderful and forever memories here. Thanks go to the property managers as they were very helpful and friendly.

Very nice little house, clean and comfortable. It's a little tight for 8 adults. Sleeps 8 if you bring an air mattress and have two per bed. Close to beach with a short walk. I would recommend to any family. Pet friendly ours little dog loved sitting on the decks and watching everything around.

This house was the perfect getaway for us! We wanted a place we could feel at home in, and this place had it all! The layout of the house is great with 3 bedrooms upstairs and a huge living room and kitchen downstairs, we enjoyed sitting out on all of the balconies; getting fresh air, drinking our morning coffee, and hanging out after a long beach day! We loved grilling in the patio area downstairs and being able to use the kitchen to cook for our family. This place really has everything you need, and is right on the beach. We loved being able to walk-on everyday! I highly recommend staying here, we definitely will be staying again.

The house was lovely! All bedrooms are above some steep stairs, but we still managed. Word to the wise, the mosquitoes were no joke. Bring bug spray and bathe in it!

The location of the home was wonderful. The home itself was spacious. Upon arrival the rug in the living room was filthy and we had to vacuum it. I had to buy a spray for the upstairs rooms because of the odor. The beds were not comfortable at all. And did not appreciate the fact that they had political propaganda throughout the home.

Check in was very easy and smooth. Kitchen facilities were adequate. Location was awesome - very close to beach!Cleanliness was ok, there was carpet upstairs (which seems odd for a beach house) that definitely needed cleaning. It was very old and spotted. Otherwise ok.
