Great place a very short walk from the beach. You’re a couple miles from public access where you can drive on to the beach if you’re looking for a more secluded spot.

Great location. Easy to locate and get in. Host had excellent communication and instructions. Furniture and home goods were great and all appliances worked well. Parking area under home was completely flooded and covered in sand which made getting in and out a messy event. Other homes in area had parking areas that were clean and usable. The home has a noticeable mold / mildew smell. Areas of rot are present around door openings, walls, and flooring and those areas are wet/rotten. One of the pocket doors in an interior wall between a bathroom and closet had mold all over it when we slid it open. 2nd bedroom has strong rot/mold odor. There is, what appears to be, an A/C drain hose that is positioned above the only entry stairs that constantly has a stream of water dripping on anyone coming in or out of the home. Property advertised with grill so we brought meat to grill but the grill was beat up and the grill grates were rusted. It was also locked in the flooded parking area.

It is a lovely location, we agree, and appreciate the compliments to the 979 Crew's communication. There was a considerable amount of rain before your stay and couple that with our normal coastal high-humidity, things tend to be quite damp. Sorry for an inconvenience as a result. The house's cleanliness, beautiful balconies, and proximity to the beach were definite highlights. The house is advertised as being able to accommodate eight people. Our group consisted of four adults and two toddlers, which should have been easily manageable. However, we encountered several issues that made our stay less comfortable for example the lack of extra bedding for the pull out couch, not enough towels, and basic supplies like coffee, enough dishwasher pods and laundry detergent were drawbacks that affected our overall comfort. The responsive home management was a big plus, but the inconvenience of having to request additional items during our stay was a hassle. With a few improvements in these areas, this property could be an excellent choice for a beach vacation. Until then, future guests should come prepared with extra supplies (blankets, towels, coffee, food seasoning, dishwasher liquid and laundry liquid if you need) to ensure a more comfortable and hassle-free stay.

My husband and I (plus our 2 pups) were looking for a quiet weekend getaway and found Pelican's Pass. We arrived at night and found the property with no issues. It is located in a very quiet neighborhood and is close to beach access. To enter the property, you will have to go up a pretty steep inclined ramp, so not an easy feat for anyone who is disabled or elderly. Otherwise, it's a great leg workout! It was easy to unlock and enter the property. We were very impressed with the layout and cleanliness of the house. My favorite spot was the open air deck facing the ocean, but of course the views of the bay were great from the deck in the front. The only drawback was the $200 NON-refundable price we had to pay for our 2 pups. Why not refund it if there was no damage or issues? So with the $200 and the cost of the rent, we paid close to $1,000 for about 43 hours. We felt that was a bit pricey for just a weekend.

Beautiful beach and quiet location. Loved the sun deck views and the less populated beach. Not sure what summer would be like, but Christmas time was very relaxing. The house was perfect for the two of us and had everything we needed. Would definitely stay again.

We had a great stay here. The house was well kept and offered a lot of outdoor deck/patio space. We loved sitting on the back patio off the master bedroom in the evenings. It was nice with the breeze and ocean wave sounds. The walk to the beach was short and the beach itself was not crowded at all. Very peaceful. We watched the sun rise over the ocean and the sun set over the bay. Loved it! The house was well stocked items. We didn’t need to purchase any extras of anything and our fur babies had a treat waiting for them when we arrived! The incline in the ramp is pretty steep so be prepared! Beach items being provided would have been nice. There is no where nearby to rent them so prepare to bring your own. Enjoy!

We loved this cute little beach house! The screened porches made it a super unique place to be and kept us mosquito bite free. The kitchen had everything we needed - even had sharp knives and a Ninja blender! The master bedroom upstairs is huge, and the mattress is exceptional — my daughter-in-law even wanted to find out the brand because it was so comfy. The ramp up to the entry is a great feature and makes rolling luggage easy. I brought a utility wagon and used it to haul groceries and supplies up and down. And don’t worry about construction noise next door because the workers are mostly inside at this point, and we were not disturbed at all. Overall a very well-maintained place. Keep up the great work, 979!

Overall it was a great place. A few minor issues, throw pillows were dirty, sofa had pet hair and left over crumbs from previous visits, dusty floors in the downstairs bedroom.

We stayed at this property with our two kids and two dogs. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. The house is just a very short walk to the beach which was great. Very easy checkin process. Have no complaints, would stay at the property again.

We really enjoyed our stay! The house was lovely, easy to find, and close to the beach. The beach was not crowded at all same quite clean. You are a bit farther out from restaurants and groceries, but we brought plenty of supplies. The only downside of the stay were the mosquitos so we highly recommend wearing insect repellent. Highly recommended overall!

It was a very nice place to stay with an Incredible view of the ocean. Perfect for a getaway with family and friends. The master suite is so HUGE with great views. One of the nicest, cleanest rentals we have ever stayed in. The kitchen was not only well stocked but everything was labeled making it easy to locate what was needed. Great location and while yes, there is a house being built next door, you really only lose the view from bed. All 4 balconies have great views as does the living room. There was enough space for everyone to relax. Highly recommend this property!

The house is really nice! It’s a little walk to actually get to the beach since they moved the beach access. Was perfect for our family of 5! Make sure you bring extra blankets and lots of trash bags! The ice machine never re filled so bring ice! We really enjoyed our stay!

Well kept and clean home, perfect for a couples getaway! Even with mosquitoes prohibiting us from “beaching it up” in September, we had lovely views of the ocean from screened in balconies on all sides of the home. Highly recommend! We will certainly book here again!

Cannot say enough positive things about the home itself! It was beautiful, clean, had every convenience! The book (awesome idea) helped us with any questions we had including how to access the beach and where to take our trash! The only negative of our trip at all was all the gosh darn mosquitos if you book here (and you absolutely should) take lots of bug spray!

This is our 2nd time staying and we absolutely love it. We plan on returning again next summer. Our only complaint is that the new house next-door has so..many outdoor lighting that it totally ruined sitting on the screened in deck at night and watch the stars. Don't understand why they have too have that many porch lights on.

The views from this house are amazing. The decks are nice with the screens since the mosquitos can be pesky. The house has everything you would need. However, on arrival the access code didn’t work (quite frustrating with the long travel). When we did enter the home is was very hot and the smell of mold hit us. The only part of the house that cooled off nicely was the upstairs (which was odd to us). The bed in the downstairs room broke on day 3, thankfully I brought a sheet for the pull out bed. The last night the breaker tripped in the downstairs bedroom, we are pretty sure there is a leak in the wall since we had water leaking on the stove top and the smell. The hosts were very responsive but it was a bit of an inconvenience to have to correspond with them so much during our vacation. The house was nice just needs some maintenance on some of the furnishings. If the downstairs area matched the upstairs it would have been perfect.

We loved staying at this property. Very nicely decorated and decks/views galore. The 2 screened porches were a haven from any unwanted insects (not that we saw too many) and offered a little extra privacy. A very short walk (about 3 houses away) from beach access. We used some portable carts to get belongings up the ramp and spent all but sleeping time outside. No problems and would definitely do it again. Very good rental if you’re bringing pets and want something affordable in this neighborhood. Cleanliness was top notch. Some wear and tear but that’s expected near the beach! Our only downfall was the ramp, it was a little steep trying to get a baby carrier up and down. Overall I would recommend and stay again!

We have stayed in this neighborhood for several years now this was our first time as a smaller group so we chose this smaller house and it did not disappoint. Very organized and stocked with all the essential items needed. Great location easy access to the beach, with amazing views from every deck.

Overall it was a beautiful, well laid out, clean, organized, well decorated and had everything you needed for your stay. Close to the beach and very quite. It was cold and rainy when we were there but still enjoyed the stay because the house was beautiful. Only thing is the toll of $4 every time you leave and come back. I was unaware of that. Plus they were out of books for the discount, not part of the house but something to consider. Plus the house is a 30 minute drive to restaurants or a good size grocery store.

Absolutely loved the views, porches and new furnishings! Our family enjoyed a late dinner under the stars from the elevated screened front porch without the bugs - delightful! While the home is not huge, it is setup well and super classy comfortable. The master bed and suite truly is decadent! It is a wonderful experience for our family of 4.

This beach house is a gem! The only draw back is the remote location that did not have any grocers nearby, so you will have to pack all the groceries for the week. The home however, had everythi g you can imagine or need for immenities in the kitchen and all rooms. I had brought along 2 bottles of wine but forgot my corkscrew. The kitchen has it and was well stocked for cooking anything you want..and with that as one of my favorite hobbies...impressed me! The beach access is super close and our private puppy yard was sooo wonderful! Beautiful house, great vacation with my kids!!! I would book this one again!

My family of four loved every inch of this house and it amenities. The house was fully stocked with everything we needed in the kitchen and the beds were very comfortable. The house is gorgeously decorated and very well set up. We enjoyed the screened in porches and the lovely beach views. Having a small fenced in area for our dog was wonderful. We have stayed in this neighborhood before and glad we came back and chose this house this time. We will definitely be coming back again. Much need vacation for my family. Pelican’s Pass embodies a carefree, relaxing beach getaway! The property was lovely and incredibly clean—my family agreed that the beds and pillows were the most comfortable we’ve experienced in a vacation rental/hotel. My girls LOVED the hammocks and the short walk to the beach, and we all appreciated that the beach was secluded and quiet. We had such a fantastic experience that we are already planning our next trip back.

Our family of 5 had a wonderful time at the beach and in this home for our long weekend getaway. The beach is secluded which we loved! There is not a lot nearby so we brought food for all of our meals. We also rented a golf cart (K6 Island Sports) which we highly recommend. The house was perfect for our family. Enough space for everyone to lounge and relax when we weren’t at the beach. My husband and I enjoyed having our coffee on the screened porch off the master. We would stay here again!

This property looked just as good in person as it did online. Clean, updated, & charming, this beach house is a great place for a family or couple. It was removed from the busy traffic of Galveston, and the house was well equipped and nicely decorated. Very comfortable and spacious, and loved the screened in porches. Had a tiny hiccup and the property manager was there right away... the beach access is a bit of a walk, but the area is great for bikes or scooters.

So my birthday is the 4th of July and this house was incredible! Close walk to the beach, almost like a private beach. The neighbors were so helpful in loaning us what we did not bring. Quiet, peaceful screened in porches so no mosquito attacks while sitting outside. Most pet friendly property we ever stayed! The owners have made great care for this property!
