Great place and the location is perfect with lots of parking and the home was extremely clean and inviting. The views and crashing waves are unparalleled! This is a must stay for a private get away, just make sure you bring supplies, food, etc., as there is nothing close by except one family owned restaurant which you have to try the vanilla buttermilk pecan pie!

Overall, we had a really nice stay at On Water's Edge. The home was clean, cute, and matched the listing photos. The living spaces were comfortable, and the location was great. The main issue we ran into was that the back two bedrooms didn’t have any AC, and it got extremely hot at night. It was uncomfortable enough that we had to move the mattresses into the living room to sleep. To their credit, the host responded quickly and sent out an AC technician, but unfortunately we were told there was nothing that could be done due to the way the system is set up. If you're traveling during cooler months, this likely wouldn't be a problem. But for summer visits, it’s definitely something to be aware of. Despite that, we appreciated the host’s responsiveness and the overall quality of the space.

We spent four nights here and loved it. It is right on the beach and was not crowded at all. In fact, several times we were really the only ones out there. The house looked exactly like the pictures. It was clean and beautiful. We really only had three negatives from the experience. 1. The bedrooms at all hours of the day were HOT. For some reason, the main room/kitchen and dining areas were cool and cooled down perfectly. It was just something about all of the bedrooms, the air really didn't flow into there no matter what we did. The ceiling fans did help a little. 2. We had someone come up and tell us that swimming was actually made illegal here due to ripcurrent danger. Because of this we stayed mostly along the edge of the water and on the beach. 3. You can only do 2 loads of laundry per day. Having 3 little kids and others at the beach, we tend to do a lot of laundry. I do understand why it is that way though. Overall, we highly recommend this place!

It’s such a special thing to have the beach almost to yourself. We appreciate you sharing your feedback as well. The home is on a barrier island and operates on a septic system, which does place some limits on water usage, including laundry. We try to balance guest comfort with the long-term care of the system and the environment. Regarding the bedroom temperatures, we understand how important a cool night's sleep is—thank you for bringing that to our attention. We’ll be looking into airflow improvements and will pass this along to the owners. As for the ocean safety notice, you're absolutely right to be cautious—currents along the Gulf can be unpredictable. While swimming isn’t suggested/allowed right in front of the home as local conditions vary day to day, we’re glad you were able to still enjoy the sand and shoreline! The main long stretch of beach entrance where swimming activities can be enjoyed is just a 5 min walk away in the neighborhood. We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you and your group back again soon!

The house and location were perfect, and the view was absolutely beautiful. A few things could be improved to make the stay even better. We had 10 guests but were only provided with 7 towels for 4 days, which made it challenging. The back bedrooms did not have remotes, so we weren’t able to use the TVs in those rooms. Lastly, there weren’t enough kitchen plates for a larger group. It would be helpful if the property included additional dishes or provided disposable plates and utensils, as many rental properties do.

We had no issues other then the two back rooms have poor air flow, it’s was very very hot to sleep in. Also, all the beds mattresses were way too hard. Very undesirable for sleeping, could not get comfortable. Not suitable for anyone with back issues.

We will definitely confirm. Mattress choices are subjective as to preference, and we haven't had anyone mention those either. The house was cute and well done as far as space and set-up. It looks like the pictures and we enjoyed the view and having the shower downstairs to rinse sand off. My only issue is that this area has apparently notoriously dangerous riptides. I found out after I nearly lost my life after getting swept away and 911 had to be called. There are no signs on the beach and the book in the house barely makes mention of the danger of the water there. I go to the coast 3-4 times a year and I am a very strong swimmer EMS said that's the only reason I am still here. Signs should be posted around the house for those who don't know or a warning should be communicated from the hosts. I would hate to see an inexperienced beach family suffer a tragedy. We all enjoyed our stay after the accident but if the county had signs and the homeowners made folks aware there wouldn't have been the scare. This is not a swimming beach.

Very private location and the has a private beach. The neighborhood was super friendly. House is very modern and felt safe for my family with small children.. only down side Walmart was 30mins. Overall fantastic stay.

This house was perfect! I was pristine clean, the kitchen was very well stocked with everything we needed, the furniture and bedding were extremely comfortable and the ocean view was unbelievable! It was a perfect, peaceful getaway for a few days. We will definitely be back to visit.

Checkin was easy, place was clean and as described. The beds were comfortable and place was nicely decorated. The kitchen was fully stocked with pots and pans and cutlery. They had a variety of board games. The place is right on the beach and the view is perfect with awesome sunrises. I just wish we had some additional towels and linen. Everything else was perfect.

My family and I had a FANTASTIC stay. Everything was as described! There did seem to be a lot of flies and mosquitos, but nothing that wasn't manageable (From our experience, that comes with Texas costal stays). The bedrooms felt warmer than the interior, living portion of the house, however with a stilted, one-story house, that can be expected.(It was still considerably cooler in all rooms inside the house than outside lol) Fans are provided in each room and helped circulate the cooler air. With the fans on, it was still a comfortable nights stay and everyone was rested. The hosts provided everything we could think to need. Overall, my family would stay here again.

This property was amazing. We had a couple small issues and the property owner replied quickly and solved the problem immediately. Overall it was a fantastic experience with pictures true to the property and a wonderful place to stay. Well furnished kitchen… they thought of practically everything. I wish I could move there permanently. And the view of the water from the deck was awesome. Love , love , love it!

Great location, beautiful house right on the beach. They have a great area to hang out and watch the ocean and even a grilling station. The kitchen had everything you need to cook. The loft area is great Only thing negative I have to say is one of the bedrooms has a pullout couch and is very uncomfortable. Overall great place to stay and we had a great time.

Our family of 6 stayed for 4 days! It was absolutely amazing. Make sure to bring extra trash bags and bug spray!!!! We enjoyed just being together, sitting on the deck each morning! It is rocky getting to the beach but we managed. It felt like our own private beach during the week! It did get busier on the weekend. The fire pit at night time was perfect. This house was exactly what we wanted. I’m so glad we picked it.

Best view ever! Place was very clean and easily accessible. Beds were comfortable and had plenty of space. No issues with wi-fi connection and everything was in working order. Ate at Blue Water Drift…less than 2 miles up. Wow! Food was so good and huge portions, we were not expecting that! It is a must go! Rental company was great! No complaints here…our stay was awesome.

Super location! Rocks are large but if you dont want to walk over them there are open beach areas very close. We saw cool wildlife from lots of crabs to even dolphins the last day we stayed! House setup and kitchen items were great! Loft was fun for our kids. The only thing that was a bit bothersome was the blinds on the door. Impossible to use the handle without hitting the blind. We had a great family vacation!

Everything about this was beautiful! Wake up every morning and all you see is ocean views. The place itself is very clean and updated. We spent hours just sitting on the deck taking in the ocean air and watching the waves. Highly recommend if you're looking for relaxation.
