This house is falling apart leak in walls and floor, sinks facets need replaced leaking. Kitchen leak around sink, interior doors have signs of previous flooding. House was not cleaned found cockroaches in bedrooms and hair in bathrooms and rat poop in the beds Couches were worn out and broken with holes inside frame, coffee pot didn’t work House has a lot of room to sleep but other than that we felt like the advertisements were much more appealing than what we got when we arrived. The house was at a good location and was close to the beach and that was the only good thing about it. The houses Exterior/interior has not been updated in a long time it appears right away. The whole house had a horrible dead animal/Fishy smell that came from the locked room next to the kitchen going towards the laundry room. The stairs also are clearly unsafe had a couple staples/nails that would poke you if you weren’t careful. Aswell as the floor was not kept up with, it was all coming up in spots. For the price I paid I would never come again.

Beach house was nice but as a renter, I was very disappointed with several issues during our stay. • The refrigerator in the kitchen was leaking, which forced my family and me to take turns checking and cleaning up water throughout the night. • The washer repeatedly became unbalanced, preventing us from doing laundry at the house and requiring us to visit a local laundromat instead. • We were told someone would be coming to remove some of the trash so we could dispose of ours, but that never happened. We had to leave our trash beside the bins and move them to the front ourselves, which I don’t believe should have been our responsibility. • Several of the counter stools were loose and felt unsafe to sit on, and one of the chairs on the second-floor patio was broken. Given that I paid $2,700 for this rental, I expected a higher level of quality and care. I hope this feedback is helpful in making future stays better for other guests.

As the home is located on an island, trash pickup follows a specific schedule managed by the local service. Our team does their best to assist between pickups when possible, but due to limited disposal options on the island, there’s nowhere else for us to take trash outside of the designated system. This home is one of our most affordable large-capacity, waterfront rentals, and with the high volume of guests it hosts, a bit of wear and tear can show—but we never want that to come at the cost of comfort or safety. Plenty of room for our large group. Bedding and towels were clean, but some of the dishes were dirty. Down where the grill was located there was standing water that smelled of sewage that wasn't ideal. Home is in need of renovations but the view was fantastic and the location was very nice. Communication and responsiveness was timely but not all issues were directly addressed. Overall response from our group was positive but likely wouldn't rent home again without some updates.

The location of this Airbnb was fantastic! It was just a short walk to the beach, which made it really convenient and enjoyable. That was definitely the highlight of the stay. However, I did feel that the home itself could use some updates and maintenance attention. While the place had potential and a cozy layout, the overall condition didn’t quite match the price point. With a little investment into repairs and some modern touches, this could be a truly great stay. That said, the host was very responsive and easy to communicate with, which I appreciated.

The house is truly beachfront – you step out and you're right on the sand, which was amazing. All the beds were made upon arrival, and there were plenty of towels provided, which was perfect for our large group. Despite being many people, we all fit comfortably in the house. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you might need. The decor is a bit dated, but it adds to the charm – overall, it's a really great house for a beach stay.

We loved our stay here. The house is quite old (I actually remember staying here as a child 20 years ago!) but I'd say it's been well maintained. And you can't beat an oceanfront view!

Had the most wonderful time! Amazing location & views! Loved being able to just walk right onto the beach. There was plenty of room for our 14 adults, kids, & dogs! Amazing place! Loved. Loved. Loved. Would book again! Just needs some maintenance for water damage an other small things.

After a major storm, it should have not opened. Paint peeling off the walls, mold everywhere, sewer leaking into storage area, mosquitos everywhere, grass more than 9 inches, could not even get out of car before being overrun by mosquitos. Ovederall maintenance... there was none. To top it off, it was rated a 5 star.. If this is Airbnb's 5 star, they need to to move to a 10 number scale. I would not give this property a 1.

We're sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your stay more and will certainly pass along your feedback to this home's owner. That said, this is a large direct beachfront home with salt, sand, humidity and sea breezes, while lovely at the beach, these same elements take their toll on home exteriors. It is a constant maintenance project. As for the mosquitoes, they are certainly not invited guests and not in anyone but Mother Nature's control. Hopefully now that things have dried up post storm, they will be headed out.

Very spacious home with more than enough space for my family of 11. The double balconies out looking the ocean were out of a magazine. The kitchen had every tool imaginable to cook multiple meals. My family had a blast in this peaceful home.

We had a family meet up and the house was great. The bedrooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. Lots of space, large kitchen and plenty of spots for us to congregate. The decks were big with plenty of chairs and the view was amazing. The pier to the beach made life easy and we were able to rent surf boards and boogie boards with ease. The only advice I would give to future renters is bring beach towels. There were plenty of towels for the showers, and plenty of hot water but no towels to take to the ocean. But I would definitely stay here again.

Four star rating based on the great space it offers. The 8 bedroom home to sleeps 20 persons comfortably, lots of restrooms, great beach access and open spaces for different activities. Off-season pricing was a bargain, but paying top dollar in peak-season may leave you wanting more. A bit more maintenance and care to the property, in general, would go a long way. Required a bit of airing out for smell upon arrival. Overall, we all enjoyed our time in the home very much.

Per your feedback, as you can imagine, with groups of up to 20, there is also a significant amount of wear and tear with it. This home is very popular given its direct beachside location (and all the salt, sand & humidity environmental elements that come with it outside and in, every time the door is opened) and large group size accommodation. It is in a perpetual state of maintenance, repair, care, and improvement, as a result. The owners of this home and 979 do our best to keep up. That said, we take all comments to heart. lovely house, the beach is in front of the house and you don't need to do any driving, you can watch the sunset from the balcony, over all, we enjoyed the house and will definitely book again. just an fyi, keep all items inside the house or in side your car, we had a few items stolen from the back of the trucks.

This was a great place to stay with our family of 17. Fabulous for a large group—plenty of bathrooms and private bedrooms, the kitchen is large. Location on the beach was wonderful. Needs some updating of peeling paint on the inside. Some things that might be better were to: fix the leak under a main level bathroom sink, make the barbecue grill where it could be moved around out of the wind and make on/off handles for outdoor shower easy to turn ( I think this was in the process of being addressed). Overall we were very pleased!

Location was great, short walkway bridge to beach. Also had a minor issue with keypad when checking in and they called me within 2 minutes with how to access a hard copy key! Super responsive and highly recommend. Is a true 8 bedroom house with beautiful views of the Gulf of Mexico. We plan to stay again !

The house itself was perfect for 12 of us, four generations and a perfect December holiday. The house had all the amenities we needed to bake cookies, cook large quantities of food and blend holiday drinks. The beach access was right outside where we rented golf carts for a day from a recreational store down the street, drove down the beach, the levy and had the best time wearing Santa hats as we visited nearby convenience stores for forgotten items. This was a wonderful house to spend with family and the access to the beach was right outside. The beach was beautiful along with the local folks we met. We plan to stay here again for our next family, holiday adventure. I recommend this home if you want a quiet, beach front property.

We spent the week with 16 people from age 3 to 80 and had a great time. Location of house could not have been better. Very easy walk to beach and sand is easy to walk on. Check in process and communication with host was very easy. The house had plenty of room and everyone had there own space. It was raining on and off all week so the covered porch was nice. Downsides where since it was raining drive way and parking areas were flooded most of week. Also since house accommodates up to 20 people more than 1 trash can would be nice and the house just needs some tlc, needs a paint job and bathrooms need some upgrades. Overall we had a great trip and house worked for our family.

Was not in the condition as pictured.i Basketball sized hole in wall,peeling paint throughout, one of the downstairs shower was inoperable, septic sewer overflowing in the paking pad when we arrived. Sewersmell was awful on the parking pad. They sent someone to pimp septic on monday, but it was overflowing again in just a few days. I have pictures of it all including the outside storage room that was gilled with trash and black water.

Check in was easy but upon arrival and inspection of property we found it dirty and in a state of disrepair. Entry door was very hard to work by our entire family each time we entered or exited the house. We fixed a few things during our week. We cleaned windows, repaired toilet paper hangers fixed shelve in freezer side of fridge(preventing its closing). Several smoke detectors were inoperable or just laying in a drawer. The kitchen sink sprays water from left side of sink. The carpet, rugs(had duct tape keeping it together), walls and shower stalls were dirty and stained. Lamps on nights stands were coming apart. Light bulbs didn’t work in kitchen under cabinets. The sinks filled up with water fast and had a slow drain. The couches in main room were well beyond use by date. Tv in bedroom didn’t work. Some bedrooms didn’t have a tv at all. Remotes didn’t have batteries in some. There was not a outside shower or hose to use to clean off any sand or saltwater. Mosquitos were really bad during our stay as well. The air condition did work well and kept us cool during our stay. The overall condition of this property is poor and needs an updating with better upkeep. Could not use lower portion of property to grill or eat due to SEWER WATER FLOWING ONTO PATIO DAILY. The stench of sewer water was intolerable. Will not ever return or recommend this property.

First off, our Jeep group loves to come to Surfside Beach for this annual event. We do NOT like to go to Crystal Beach for this event due to so many other Non-Jeep people ruin it for us. As far as the beach house itself... great location! Our only negative notes are this, the door handle on the entry door needs to be replaced... it is old and warn out. The shower curtain liners need to be replaced, they were was mold on them... other than the mosquitos... we had a great time.

Great view. Easy access to the beach. Two refrigerators! Plenty of hooks for towels and bathing suits. Great chairs on the covered porch made it a favorite spot to watch the sunrise, the birds, the waves, the people, etc. Inside it was warmer upstairs than down, but that could be helped with some dark curtains. Other minor issues: missing batteries in the remotes, very little lighting under the house, and no oven mitts. Bathrooms are a little tight.

The views and location were amazing! The house however needs a lot of TLC! The toilets were from 1980 and were literally about 10 inches off the ground; the dining table only sat 6 people and of that 1 of the chairs was broken; the dryer does not work; it would have been nice to have an outdoor shower instead of a hose that only turned on when it was all the way to hot (burning your skin); and the house was just really run down! Peeling paint, filthy stained toilets, crappy appliances and just a general lack of effort put into maintaining this house. I would not have really said anything but at almost $1500 a night to stay there between fees and cleaning, this house should have been WAY better taken care of! With that said, it WAS all clean, bed sheets were clean and soft and it did not smell. Lots of space to run around and great views…. Just wish they put a little more love into maintaining this home!

We had a fantastic stay at this beach house, it was clean, very well loved (some wear here and there) but perfect for our family vacation. They however do not have in this listing that the water is unsafe to drink and cook with. It was a big hassle to buy and bring in loads of water. It was not a deal breaker, but definitely something I wish they had put in the listing so I knew what we were getting into.

The house was clean. The eight bedrooms were comfortable. The kitchen was large enough for several to work in. When we had any issue we were promptly contacted. The location was amazing just a few steps to the beach and the location was a little ways out so not as crowded. The beach was clean. The house appears old and does need some repairs but would definitely stay again.
