House of Views Endless Sand Sea Surf Wow

An awesome July Fourth Week. We truly loved our stay. The 979 Host was awesome. Clear communication from booking to post departure was outstanding. Their welcome gifts and information booklet was great. Private boardwalk to the beach was nice. Even on the Fourth of July the beach had space to have family fun. We had 6 adults, 6 grandkids and two large dogs. The five bedrooms were perfect.Plenty of bathrooms (4.5 bath). Very pet friendly host also. Even my two pups were given a welcome package.Large kitchen included oversized fridge, large stove, drip or kcup coffeemaker. Plenty of plates, bowls, cups, silverware…enough to feed a small army.Linen and bedding was clean. The breeze from the gulf is awesome! You can enjoy on the bottom floor or on the second or third balcony/wrap around porch. The third floor balcony has a bar style table facing the gulf. We got to see Pelican’s fly by every evening. And unlike staying in the midst of Galveston we didn’t have any seagulls hanging around us. Which is a blessing in disguise. As much as we love the attractions on the north end of the Island we totally loved the remote feeling of being on the south end. A 20-25 minute drive to the attractions isn’t that bad. I would 100% stay here again and would recommend to my family and friends!

I evaluate VRBO/ABNB properties based on the question, "Would I choose to rent this home again?" Unfortunately, I would not opt to rebook this particular home. Here are my reasons: First, the listing indicated that there was a functioning elevator. However, I received a call en route to the home informing me that the elevator was out of order, and we would be receiving a 600 refund. I assumed the living area was on the second floor, so I thought it wouldn't be an issue. To my dismay, the living area was actually on the third floor. This meant we had to carry an ice chest, food, and luggage up three flights of stairs. The most concerning aspect was that we had three individuals over the age of 84 who struggled with the stairs. Additionally, the stairs were uneven, resulting in two family members falling while descending, with one sustaining bruises and scrapes on both arms. The second issue was that the living room furniture was oversized, leaving little room for comfortable movement. Thirdly, all the dining and most outdoor seating was at bar stool height, which posed challenges for the older members of my group. Fourth, the heavy glass top of the dining table was unstable; it lifted twice and nearly fell when someone leaned on it to stand up. Lastly, the parking situation was problematic, as the garage doors were inoperable, forcing us to stack our cars two by two. We had a lovely weekend. The house and location was perfect. Easy access to beach. House was very clean and kitchen well stocked - light on personal care items and no beach supplies – come prepared. Spacious, comfortable, and beautiful.

We stayed here for 4 nights and had a mixed experience. The property offers a beautiful view, private beach boardwalk, well-stocked kitchen, and a convenient location near stores and restaurants. Unfortunately, there were several maintenance and cleanliness issues. After check-in, we were notified the elevator was out of service and it remained unusable throughout our stay. We found mold around an AC vent, another vent leaking condensation onto a bedroom floor, stained bedding, hair under comforters on two beds, bugs inside the microwave, and non-functioning garage doors. Privacy was limited because the bedroom glass doors lack blinds, and there were no towel hooks in the bathrooms. The biggest concern was safety. The stairs and floor are stained the same color, making the bottom step difficult to see. Several guests missed it, and my father badly rolled his ankle. This property has great potential, but the maintenance, cleanliness, and safety issues need attention.

We're glad your group enjoyed the beautiful direct waterfront location, private beach access, well-equipped kitchen, and the convenience of being close to some tasty local restaurants and shopping. For the safety and security of our guests, homeowners, and us, our required guest agreement must be completed before check-in. Unfortunately, it wasn't completed until after your scheduled arrival time. During our pre-arrival inspection, we discovered the elevator was not operating properly, and we immediately notified you once the agreement was completed. We appreciated your understanding when we made you aware and were comfortable proceeding with your stay. We were sorry to read about the concerns you mentioned upon departure. Throughout your stay, we did not receive any additional communication about these items. Had we been made aware, we would have gladly sent our crew to address any cleanliness or maintenance concerns as quickly as possible. With a large pup-friendly beachfront home, occasional maintenance items can arise despite thorough inspections, and we always appreciate the opportunity to make things right while guests are with us. We sincerely hope your father is recovering well from his ankle injury. Guest safety is very important to us, and we will review the stair area you mentioned as well as the other items in your feedback with our maintenance and housekeeping teams. Beautiful house and great location. Home was clean and comfortable and kitchen had everything we needed. Appreciated the nice towels and linens! Views are fantastic. We could watch group at beach from the balcony. Great set up for a large group with lots of beds/bedrooms. The living/dining area could use more seating to accommodate groups handing out and eating together. Wifi does not consistently work/reach all areas which affects smart tvs- not ideal for a rainy weekend entertainment. Be aware of hours management company is available. They were quick to respond within those business hours, but we had an issue outside of that time frame and were stuck with a beeping smoke detector throughout the night.

We are not aware of any internet coverage issues, but coastal properties can sometimes present unique challenges for wireless coverage, especially in larger homes. We will certainly pass along your thoughts to this home's responsive owner. We're also sorry about the smoke detector battery alert during the night. While our crew responds as quickly as possible, occasional maintenance items such as a low battery can arise unexpectedly during the wee hours. Most smoke detectors can be temporarily silenced with the test button until a battery can be replaced, but we do understand that a late-night chirp isn't anyone's idea of vacation ambiance. We had an amazing stay at this Galveston beach home! The space was perfect for our group of 14, with plenty of room for everyone to relax comfortably without ever feeling crowded. The layout was ideal for both gathering together and having private space when needed. The home itself was beautiful, clean, and thoughtfully designed with everything we needed for a seamless stay. The beach access was a huge highlight, just steps away and absolutely perfect for morning walks, sunset views, and spending the day by the water. Communication with the host was easy and responsive, which made the entire experience even better. Whether you’re planning a family getaway, group trip, or special celebration, this place is a gem. We would absolutely stay here again!
