We loved the location right on the beach! The house was well stocked, comfortable, clean, and had great views! it was a good 15-20 minutes from downtown area, but for us that was ok! We liked being close to that area but still far away enough to enjoy the serene location on the beach. Would definitely recommend this place.

My family stayed for a few nights to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. It was a spectacular location close to the beach. The house was well stocked with everything needed and more. We loved the layout of the house and enjoyed spending time together in the common areas. Can’t wait to book another stay and go back. 10/10 would recommend

This rental was absolutely beautiful. The kitchen was extremely well stocked with a ton of plates, bowls. Glasses, acrylic cups, kid plates and utensils and so much more. The second refrigerator was super helpful! If you like to cook, there were plenty of pots, pans, casserole dishes, etc. There was a booster seat which came in handy for our littles. The house was beautifully designed and well maintained. We were all pleasantly surprised at how comfortable the beds were. Even the twin trundle beds were very comfortable. The views from both patios were stunning. The patio furniture was also comfy. The house has a ton of seating for meals and for lounging after a long day on the beach. The 979 Crew was great to work with. They set clear instructions and expectations up front, were extremely quick to reply and overall very pleasant to work with. We will definitely rent here again.

My family and I loved this place! The house was spacious and beautifully decorated. The beach was easily accessible, and we had great views from the home. I really liked the layout of the home and how each area had seating to accommodate a big group. This airbnb had everything to keep everyone entertained! I woke up and fell asleep feeling relaxed and peaceful.

Love the location. Place was nice and clean. (Minus the rat traps) fridge takes forever to get cold. Slowest fridge I’ve ever seen. Top floor gets almost no ac. None of us stayed upstairs so wasn’t an issue for us. If we had to do it again we would have no issues booking this place.

It is quite the beachside location and glad you loved it and appreciated the cleanliness of this home, Tanner! The previous guests thought they might have seen a mouse, so we went ahead and installed some traps at their request. It sounds like you didn't notice any, so we can probably just do away with them at this point. As for the refrigerator, we haven't had any other guest mention any issues and there are actually 2 in this home. We do know that if you load up any empty refrigerator with items (many of which have warmed in the car ride from the grocery store), it takes time for any refrigerator to catch up. We even put this in all our Guest Guides for a reason. However, we will certainly keep an eye on it. As for the top level room upstairs, it is typically the warmest area in the home; however, making sure all the vents are open and the blinds closed usually does the trick. This was an absolute phenomenal vacation spot! Plenty of room for all the extended family and a very large driveway to accommodate the cars! The whole place was extremely clean and was very comfortable, we all felt right at home. Absolutely would stay again!

Beautiful home and setting on the beach. Plenty of room for a large family/friends gathering. Everything was perfect!! Comfortable bedrooms and fun living space. Kitchen fully equipped with everything one would need. Close to town and all activities in Galveston. Definitely would stay again!!

This beachfront home was perfect for our family weekend getaway. A home away from home! The water view from the balcony was beautiful and relaxing. The beds and pillows were so comfortable. The main living room has plenty of space for everyone including a cozy gathering spot in front of the fireplace for a friendly board game with the kids.

Great stay - updated beach house but still feels like a beach house that you can be comfortable in. Beautiful view of the beach and I always love Pirates Beach. Kitchen is all updated. Furniture is on wheels so easy to situate for your crew. Not a complaint but my only suggestion is to bring beach towels (they only provide 1 bath towel per person) and if you’re staying for longer than a weekend you need to bring trash bags, paper towels, tp, shampoo, even basic cooking spices, ziplocks, etc.

"The Good Life" was a beautiful home! Very clean, plenty room for guests and beds to share. We enjoyed the view of the ocean. Very peaceful and private, would most definitely reserve again.

We loved how close this property was to the beach. Great view and so easy to get to the beach quickly with kids. Nice beach area in front of the house. Some of the rooms were hotter than others and we stayed during a cool weekend. Plenty of space for a large group though. We would stay again. The house was pretty clean. Good amount of bathrooms and beds. We enjoyed our stay.

The place itself is awesome - steps from a beach with no car traffic (!) and only a 10-15 min walk to a small grocery store. We were a group of 6 adults and 7 kids and always felt like there was enough space. Hot tub was great. A few things to consider: - the host group is friendly but I felt like it took a while to resolve issues that were imo urgent (there was an extremely molded bathroom cabinet that took 6 hours to get cleaned; the doorknob malfunctioned right before check-out and we were locked out for an hour with no clear communication on when we could expect someone to help us) - there is a fully stocked kitchen, but the host does not provide dish soap, which I find uncommon. Some pots and pans could not fit in the dishwasher (and generally should be washed by hand anyway). The liquor store that is a 10 min walk away was super friendly and gave us some for free. - the top most floor with the majority of the beds (sleeps 7) can get VERY hot even with all the fans.

The layout of the house is fantastic and so fun. Location is excellent and the house had everything we needed and more! The only bummer for us was the upstairs area the kids all stayed in was really warm and it was in the 60s outside. There wasn’t great airflow despite having a few fans available. We’d still stay again- it was perfect!

We had a wonderful long weekend with family and friends! The house is located very close to the beach and the hot tub was nice after a long day at the water. The home comfortably fit 5 adults and 6 kiddos. We would definitely stay here again!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVED our stay here! This beautifully decorated beach house had everything we needed plus more! We met family here in Galveston and there was plenty of room for all 10 of us! We made so many memories and appreciate the owners allowing us to stay in their home. If you are thinking about booking……DO IT!!

Rent from 979 property not Vrbo the priceing in not correct and Vrbo is did not help correct the problem. They said it was my problem with 979 property. I talked to 979 and realized it is a Vrbo problem that they refused to fix.

Kids (4, ages 12 to 17) were rarely out of the ocean - boogie boarding on boards found at the house; father and son fishing was outstanding - baby hammerhead sharks the most exciting catch though returned to the water; we all enjoyed the evening return of the pelicans each night and watching them dive; sea shelling on the beach netted many hermit crabs (also returned to their watery home; a short walk at the wildlife sanctuary was a bird photo shoot as well as another opportunity for fishing; a visit to the NASA Space Center in Houston was a short drive for an interesting tour; and a final night at the amusement pier topped off the week. We enjoyed many home cooked meals on the grill as well a couple of dinners out. Truly a perfect family week!

A very nice house with an interesting and functional floorplan. Check-in was simple and required no extra step, just show up to the house and use the code.The kitchen was functional and nice that an assortment of spices and a few dry goods were available. One minor complaint is we could not find a baking sheet of pizza pan.The beach toys, chairs, etc. were good to have available.

This was the first time we have tried renting a beach house and we were not disappointed. The house was beautiful, clean, and fulfilled every promise in the listing. we were steps from the beach and had an amazing time in an amazingly beautiful house. The property managers were amazing, very responsive. we plan on doing this again in the future and we will probably pick this house again. Thank you for an amazing time.

Our 28th consecutive summer on the west end! The house was was very conducive for visiting and catching up. Only a short walk to the beach. Despite the high mainland temperatures, on the beach we were very comfortable with a great breeze.

What a wonderful location to have hosted our girls' weekend. For 10 women all in their 30s, there was more than enough accommodations to ensure all of our comfort. Enough cannot be said about the location. It really was a slice of paradise!

Our family of 8 plus my 6 month old granddaughter enjoyed the holiday weekend at this amazing house! We were able to walk right onto a semiprivate beach (limited public access). The house was equipped with much more than was originally advertised. It had pretty much everything we needed… including board games, cell phone chargers, beach chairs and a wagon/cooler to take to the beach! The view from the deck & hot tub was amazing and we spent much of our time just sitting out on the deck watching the waves. We barbecued for dinner one night (again, had everything we needed). Location was nice too (15 minute drive from all the loud tourist areas) but very easy to get to anything you want to see! I’ve already recommended the property to several friends! Loved our trip & the house! Thanks for the memories!

This house was the perfect place for three generations of our family to make memories. It is basically on the beach with wonderful views from the living room, kitchen, and bedrooms. We spent every evening on the deck or in the hot tub listening to the ocean. Everything we needed for the beach was provided…chairs toys, ice chest, ect. The whole stay was easy and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again!

We had a great stay! 3 families with young children on our annual friends trip. The kids room upstairs was perfect. There's a gate attached to the top of the stairs in case you are worried about little ones! The beds and linens were very nice and comfortable. The beach is literally steps away so we didn't have to lug our beach toys very far. The house was beautiful and clean. The beach was not crowded, but not completely empty either. Definitely would recommend this house to other families wanting a relaxing and fun beach experience. Loved it! Only advice for future guests... bring your own beach towels! :-)

This home is just amazing! We had 8 adults and 3 grandchildren from ages 10 to 3 and this gorgeous home has everything! Tons of beach toys, boogie boards, beach chairs and board games. The kitchen is equipped with all the small appliances we needed. Not to mention a 2nd refrigerator that made it so easy to load the ice chest each morning before going to the beach! From the design and decor to the wonderful gift basket that has everything you need to get started (trash bag, dish pods, laundry pods) this home is amazing. Oh, and the location!!! Steps from the beach, minutes from liquor and convenience store. Our group will be staying here next year! Big thank you to the property manger Tamera. Your attention to detail is outstanding!
