Casita at the Pass Cute Cozy Comfortable

We stayed Saturday-Wednesday. The location was great. But nothing extra at all including linens for the fold out couch. No lights to the lower level to sit outside at night to enjoy anything so bring extra lights if you want to sit on the lower level which we did every night. We have stayed at many locations in the neighborhood this one was very bare minimum. For the price we paid for sure expected more. Location is great and the rental company was quick to get back with us. But didn’t work for me and my family

Thank you for allowing us to host you, and we appreciate the compliments to this home's cleanliness and location and noting our crew's responsiveness, Amber. We are disappointed to hear the home you chose wasn't the right setup for your family. While this home does offer a sleeper sofa, we do not count it as a bed in the listing and also specifically state "please bring own bedding and pillows if you intend to use" in the listing and twice more in our communication during the reservation process. We're sorry if you missed that. Regarding the lighting under the home, we believe there may have been a misunderstanding, and we're sorry about that. It isn't there weren't lights, rather the lights were misbehaving, darn it, and we found rust took its toll on the wiring and needed to be addressed. It has since been repaired, and we apologize for any inconvenience (or darkness) as a result.

We're so sorry the AC decided to take a dive during your stay, Marco. As you know, our AC service partner did go out and try to fix the issue within less than an hour of you contacting us, but unfortunately, the needed part was not available on the truck and required a custom part. Typically, they are able to repair upon the initial visit, if not within a few hours even if they need to come back. Given this is March and the temps were not that high, since we did not hear from you after our communication, our hope was that it was island bearable with the multiple fans and sea breezes especially with the short amount of your stay left. We're sorry to hear the temp was uncomfortable for you. However, we do appreciate the compliments on the home's cleanliness, check-in experience, and location. Thank you for allowing us to host you.

I have stayed approximately 6 times in the Jamaica Beach/Surfside location. Different BnB homes each time, with my wife and our two dogs. They have varied from beach side, on the ocean, to the canals in Jamaica Beach. This was my first in the Treasure Island and San Luis pass area of homes. Location was fantastic. Home was fantastic. Instructions and features were exactly as described and very clear. As many times as we have come down, to finally, FINALLY, come to a clean, well organized and modern home well set up was absolutely fantastic. An absolute great place for a couple and a couple of kids (or dogs). We didnt use the upstairs loft, as it was just us, but the rest of the house was great. Wife loved the new appliances and great washer/dryer combo so she came home with no laundry. FANTASTIC STAY. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! Great beach, great fishing, great sunrise. Best home we have rented hands down in the entire area.

Decent place, but disappointing customer service. Upon arrival, the air conditioning wasn't working, and I wasn't notified beforehand. The frustration mounted as I had just completed a four-hour journey. I spoke with Ashley, who admitted they had the wrong number and failed to review the forms with my correct contact details. There were no attempts made to contact me via email or through the Airbnb app. Despite the two-hour wait for the AC to be fixed, the temperature inside remained uncomfortably high at 91 degrees. It took an additional two hours for the place to cool down. I wasn't able to use the place until 8:30pm, leaving me with loss of time during my stay. I reached out for a full-night refund due to the inconvenience, and Drew's response was inconsiderate and defensive. I only received $75 back. This lack of empathy, with the oversight in communication, left me dissatisfied with the overall experience. Regrettably, I won't be considering any 979 properties for future stays.

HI Patrice, Casita at the Pass is a lovely place and appreciate you noting that. We're sorry if you felt that anyone for our staff was uncaring that was certainly not the intention, and quite frankly, quite the opposite. Respectfully, these are the facts in which we also followed up with you on as politely as possible. As you know, there were great efforts made by multiple parties to ensure your cool stay and not have to cancel your group's vacation. 1) we got on top of it beforehand - most rental companies (and certainly individual owners) don’t have systems that monitor temps in the home. 2) our AC contractor had to change plans to come in and assess this home's system the same day it showed an issue during the hottest summer on record. AC systems are failing left and right on the island. As you can imagine, they were swamped! 3) the owner had to approve a VERY expensive replacement same day. They did not want you to have to potentially cancel your summer vacation plans. 4) we got the contractor to fix SAME day. 5) we credited you proactively for any inconvenience and dinner on us. And of course, this is a beach and Gulf destination which were available for you to enjoy. As far as the communication goes, we did try to contact you repeatedly via phone, as it is the protocol when it is the same day as arrival. Guests often do not see an email when in route. Sorry you had an old # in Airbnb, but obviously, that is not a failure on our part, rather you had the wrong one. Again, we're truly sorry if you felt that anyone was being inconsiderate. That said, our staff felt very much unappreciated and disrespected by you as well after trying so hard to make sure your vacation stay was not canceled. It seems we are not a good match for each other, sadly.

The house was in disrepair the stairs were actually dangerous and coming apart. The bathroom was really bad the shower handle was so corroded it took all my strength to turn on the shower. The coffee pot didn’t work we had to go to Walmart for basic support should have been there. If done maintenance and cleaning was done it wouldn’t be a bad place for a short stay. I would not recommend this for a rental

Property is well located and overall clean. Beds are comfortable. Kitchen is very much under equipped. You cannot prep and cook much so be prepared. No kitchen knives, whisk, scoop, ect, but only a couple of spatulas are made available and a couple (3?) of individual steak knives - not suitable to prep anything. That made any type of cooking really challenging. Toaster was not working. Mostly plasticware with a couple of non-plastic glasses. Barely any cookware, pans are well over their prime time and I was wary of using them. That was disappointing as one rents a house for several days with the expectation that you can cook , which was made very challenging. No broom available, so good luck swiping the floors while staying 5 days with children and sand/crumbs/roaches on the floor. Also house lists few small appliances that are either missing or not working. There is also no table in the downstairs patio area, so you cannot eat outside and enjoy the weather. Laundry room and bathroom access are unpractical - in between 2 bedrooms so constant transit through the bedrooms. The laundry room is cluttered with cleaning equipment which makes it difficult to use and navigate. Probably okay for a single family though. Construction going on across the street made for a loud stay. There is a constant transit of huge trucks bringing equipment in and out. A few easy enhancements would make this property great - but I’m it’s current state, I would not rent again.

I hesitated to review this property, but got several email request. We originally checked in and loved it, but quickly found dead bugs, which was troublesome, but better dead than alive. I was concerned that the bed in the master didn't have a mattress cover, so I requested one. I got up in the middle of the night and found live oriental cockroaches and ants along the corners of the room. Lots of dead bugs. I just couldn't stomach it and requested they move us properties, which they did. I understand that it happens when you're that close to the ocean, but it was a little overwhelming. I'm also constantly worried about bugs when traveling, so take that into account. The property they moved us to was great. We didn't have enough beds at that one, but we made it work. We appreciate the move.

When we arrived we were greeted with amazing views of the ocean all around. It's located with two private beach accesses for the neighborhood. Everything was very clean and we had everything we needed to have a great and relaxing stay. The cottage was equipped with luxurious towels and linens. Everything was great and we look forward to staying in the future.

Our stay was on February 18th, definitely the off season. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. It was cold and windy, so we enjoyed time inside in the bright cheery atmosphere. There is a wonderful public beach at the end of the neighborhood and the public entrance is some distance away, so it creates the illusion of private beach. We walked the beach when the weather improved our second day and it was blissful. The home was well appointed and the decor was great!
