We also provide a list upfront of what you can expect. This home offers a full and well-stocked gourmet kitchen, perhaps you were looking for food items? Due to attracting potential bugs and pests, we do not leave homes with food in them. We do appreciate the feedback, and thanks again for staying with us.

We had a good time and the place was nice and clean. We did find that the beach access directions were misleading as the beach access is actually on the same road as the house. But that was a minor issue. Everything else was great

As always the house was stellar! We have stayed three times and each time it gets harder to leave, even though the weather was not cooperative several times this trip, felt like we were back in ND 😂. Thanks for a great home !!

This place was by far the WORST place we have stayed as a family !!! If you have younger family they won’t allow you to stay. Second the hot tub was broken and wouldn’t heat nor did the jets barely work. They sent someone out to fix it but the guy was also very rude and didn’t fix anything just told my wife he didn’t have time to fix it nor did he want to them just left. Also most of the lights in the house flicker. Also they did not have hammocks as pictured or elevator. in the end they told me I was lying and just trying to get a refund! SAVE YOURSELF AND YOUR FAMILY THE TROUBLE AND DONT STAY HERE !!! 979 rentals was by far the worst rental we have stayed at. Also they don’t respect veterans or active military.

As we both know, none of this review is true nor factual as evidenced by years of renting this home successfully with great reviews (and great guests). The facts are, against our better judgement, we rented to you and your group despite the red flags, and that we do regret. We had concerns about the guest list, especially when coupled with lack of reviews on any guest, and after you begged us to host you despite these concerns, our staff went to bat for you and gave you and your group a chance. When our Maintenance Manager arrived to assist you, your group scattered which was also a red flag. The hot tub worked and works as intended and was also demonstrated in person (steps were in the Guest Guide which you chose to ignore) and was simply user error or purposely trying to mess it up to leverage. Many of the lights are on dimmer switches - perhaps you are not familiar with how to operate them? Hammocks were there just not hung up due to the wind level, makes sense in December. There is no elevator at this house nor was there one advertised. If you are referring to the cargo lift, it is not intended for human cargo purposes and is not available to guests for safety reasons (no safety catch on these like say a garage door) which is in the listing accordingly. Our guests' safety comes first. We don't know what any of this has to do with veterans or active military nor aware of any of your group being either of those? We honor both of those. What we don't and didn't respect is your lack of respect for this home (incl smoking in the home) and our staff's time and service. It is unfortunate for other groups who do deserve a chance. It was quite a disappointing experience for all.

Die Unterkunft war sehr schön, leider war sie sehr abgelegen und einsam und was uns am meisten gestört hat, war das der Whirlpool nicht sauber war. Nachdem man ihn in Benutzung genommen hat und angeschaltet hat, wurde es noch schlimmer und er war wirklich sehr dreckig.

Our Guest Service Team did try to reach out to you during your stay regarding the hot tub; however, the international call did not go through. This home does have professional and regular hot tub servicing and being next to the beach and surf, there is no way to keep out a bit of sand the moment you open the cover. This house was EXACTLY what was described and MORE. we wanted a place to getaway and enjoy some family time after a long time apart and still feel like home. This house did exactly that....made us feel like we never left home. The weather was not ideal for a beach getaway but the house made up for that and being limited to just the house was all the comfort we needed to have an amazing time. We definitely plan to return in the future. This location is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED if your just looking for some peace and quiet and some quality time with your closest friends and family. Easy access to the beach and fishing is a definite plus. If 8 had anything to suggest, it would be to include a golf cart to your property for a little added fun.

For my hasband and friends the house was perfect. We really enjoyed the layout, as the interior was so cute! And the porch was perfect for enjoying the seabreeze and listening to waves crash on shore. It was also very clean and had everything you needed for a weekend getaway.

We absolutely loved this house. Perfect walk to the beach and very private. If you fish at the end of the road by the rocks by husband caught and released the largest red fish he ever caught in his life. And he has been fishing since a kid. The house is very equipped, but bring k cups for coffee. The house has a great floor plan. We will be back!! Also very clean!! You are not on the ocean but can watch the waves from the porch. Our friend stayed in a home on the front street and the waves actually kept her awake because it was so loud.

Our family of four had the pleasure of staying at this lovely house. The open floor plan was spacious and full of natural light. The location was great with a short walk to beach access. In addition to the house being inviting and beautiful, the towels and linens were extra nice. We loved our long weekend in the Captain's Quarters. The home is recently updated, excellent furnishings, and a well equipped kitchen. The outdoor tiki / cabana and grilling area was fun and the wrap around porches provide lots of seating and ocean views. The house is a short walk to the beach - bring a wagon to lug your stuff. We had a lovely time and would stay here again.

We give the house a 5 star rating! This is our third year back to the same neighborhood and this house has been the nicest we have stayed at. Unfortunately the beach no longer has a private area blocked off that only gold carts can access. This has nothing to do with the house review, but now you have to be extra careful with small children people people can literally (and they did) drive their RV down to the beach to camp out. The beach was still very clean and family friendly, just not private like it has been in past years!

We rented the home for our annual family vacation and the home was just as described online. It was very clean and we enjoyed the space for playing games, cooking together, and sitting to relax. The beach is very close and the view was spectacular! We took family pictures at the beach which was a short 2 block walk. The community is also very nice and there was a general store just outside of the neighborhood. I can't say enough about how fabulous it was to stay here. My nieces and nephews continue to express how much they loved the home and location. Thank you!

This house has everything you need. Very complete kitchen with toaster, crockpot, hand mixer, laundry has extra fridg with condiments people have left ( check expiration date) . Starter dish soap, laundry pods provided. Beds comfortable. Beautiful deck with gulf and bay view. Walking distance to beach. It is remote, small store across the highway. On arrival we unpacked, ate dinner I made the day before and went to Aldi in Lake Jackson for groceries ( saved a lot of $) Bring bug spray, mosquitoes vicious at dusk. In addition to being exceptionally clean, organized and beautiful to the eye, this house had many thoughtful details that showed the hosts had our comfort in mind. These extra touches made our stay a complete pleasure since we didn’t have to figure out what to do to meet a need. There were multiple sofa blankets so we could all curl up on the roomy sectional sofa and chat or play games from their extensively game stocked closet. Very nice house! A little far from the island and you have to pay $2 every time you enter it’ll leave and I wish we would have known that the Galveston Ironman was on Sunday. We had to leave very early or risk being stuck in Freeport since San Luis Pass was closing for the race. Still, we would stay again but would check for races.

We loved every minute of our stay. The beach was just a short walk down the road and it wasn’t crowded whatsoever. During the weekdays, we were maybe one family out of 10 on the entire stretch of beach. We found tons of big seashells, saw crabs and even caught a small fish. The house was so clean and airy with the windows and we enjoyed the sound of the waves from the deck and the sunsets were amazing. The hot tub was a huge hit with the kids and great for relaxing after a day at the beach. Kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies and the beds were comfy. We would definitely stay here again!

This property was beautiful, and so incredibly spacious, which was perfect for the six adults in our family! We loved having so much living space both inside and out. There were multiple outdoor seating areas/decks that were on different levels and different sides of the house, so it had a “private” feel to it, as did the hot tub deck. We took advantage of the gas fire pit and there was ample seating for everyone. It was all so so lovely. The master bedroom and bathroom are truly luxurious and everyone agreed all the beds were comfy and the sheets were cotton! (We don’t prefer jersey knit sheets.) Water pressure was great, the kitchen was well-stocked, and the house had no weird smells. We were thrilled to find a second refrigerator in the laundry room, which was our beverage fridge. Things to note: 1) Pack a few extra dish towels - the dishwasher wasn’t always effective, so we hand washed some dishes that came out of the dishwasher to get them truly clean, and having a few more dish towels than the three small ones provided would have been helpful. 2) Due to the hit or miss dishwasher, be sure to check the cleanliness of everything in the cabinet before use. 3) Bring Kleenex - no tissue in the house. 4) If coming from downtown Galveston or going into Galveston, there is a $2 toll bridge just east of this rental property. Be sure or bring some cash, as the toll booth is actually manned by a person! (I’m unsure if they take credit cards?)

Lovely house, perfect setup, super convenient! Fenced yard, grilling area & cabana, every amenity possible, super clean (fresh white sheets and zero carpet) - can’t recommend it enough! It’s a very short walk to the beach, bring a wagon to haul chairs (and tired kids). The neighborhood is very nice and family-friendly, we come here every year and this is our new favorite house!

We loved our vacation here! When we arrived we were pretty awestruck by how much space there is. The photos don't really capture the square footage of the place - it is much bigger than it looks in pictures. There are several areas for relaxing and socializing --- a beautiful patio downstairs near the yard with couch and roof and Christmas lights for hanging out while someone is grilling. Then, near the grill there are also several chairs to sit around and chat. Upstairs on the deck there are multiple areas to go, and then there's the hot tub area too! It was great for pets because there are secure gates that can be closed and latched, and they designed them in a clever way so that you can allow the dog access to certain areas and block things off if you don't want them to go into other areas. Inside the house is beautiful. Everything feels brand new. Kitchen is outfitted really well, with everything we needed. They have a full sized laundry room with a separate fridge and deep freezer for meet, if you catch fish and want to take them home that could be great. (Oh, also there's a place to clean fish downstairs although we didn't use it.) The bedrooms are wonderful. In the primary bedroom the matress gave us the best sleep we've had in awhile. This is a five star place!

Beach house was great . Well equipped kitchen . Large common area . Seems house was build for entertainment yet you’re only allowed 8 ppl . (Note the small print) The beds were very comfortable minus the cheap Polyester sheets, although soft,they do not breathe. Construction across the street so decks weren’t that enjoyable during working hours . Minimal views of the water although a short walk to the beach . Beach was fantastic , clean and quiet! Overall loved the house ,but after flying in from out of state ,disappointed we couldn’t share the house with local family . We understand homeowners apprehensions,but that’s what deposits are for.

We loved this property and it is everything that we expected, needed ans could want. Plenty of room for our 5 adults and two kids. Great place to settle for a long weekend or a vacation as well. Easy walk to the beach, beach was fabulous and no gritty sand to wash off. The only complaint I have is that the guest bathroom smelled of urine. Not sure if that was the water or what, but we dealt with it and moved on. Great place and clean and beds were even easy to sleep in. Thanks for a great family getaway this September.

This is our second stay this summer at this property. It is always spotless and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked and it is just a short walk down to the beach. It has everything that you might want in a beach house rental. The only reason I docked it a star was because one of the toilet seats was broken upon our arrival. Although they promised to fix it, no one ever showed up to do so. Otherwise, we had a fabulous time and would stay at the property again!

Family all commented on how nice and clean the property is and we enjoyed the open living area.. The house is beautiful and very thoughtfully decorated. We had room to spread out and relax. The deck is wonderful with plenty of seating. We were myself, husband, our 23 year old son with his 4 year old and our 8 year old granddaughter. The grandkids were able to walk to the beach and back easily. Distance to the beach is about a city block or a little less. This remote area is nice and quiet, which is what we were looking for, but no nearby restaurants or grocery stores so you do need to plan your meals and bring your groceries . There is a keurig but it doesn’t work very well. We used the mr coffee that is also provided. The only negative is that use of the cargo lift is not permitted and since we brought all of our groceries for the week that meant a lot of trips up and down the stairs. Thankful my son was with us when we checked in. AC works well. Beds and bedding are comfortable. Nice, new appliances and all of the usual kitchen tools. For the cost of this rental I would expect that the cargo lift could be used. We will probably not rent here again only because my husband and I would not have been able to bring supplies up the stairs without help.

The house was so cute, really liked the decor! It would have been nice to have an extra washcloth per person as they only provide one washcloth, one hand towel and bath towel per person. But there is a full size washer and dryer which we utilized several times. Biggest negative, sadly the beach wasn’t very clean.

We came for Spring Break to celebrate my 40th with just our family of 4. The weather didn't cooperate like we had hoped but everything about the house and dealing with Steven was excellent. The house is decorated beautifully and the beds were so comfortable!! The kitchen was fully stocked and made it easy to cook meals. The golf cart is such a great addition and made it so easy to get to and from the beach. I can't say enough about The Captain's Quarters and would definitely stay here again!

We enjoyed the view on the deck most of all. We spotted dolphins in the water the first day we were there. The golf cart was nice to take a spin around the neighborhood and to the beach to go shelling. We had a very nice experience with family and friends. Everyone enjoyed. My 2 year old Grandaughter said "Me Home" shortly after her Mom and Aunt and her arrived, which meant she was ready to settle in and stay for awhile. Everyone in our party was very pleased with the accommodations. We look forward to planning another trip soon.

We love this house! The location is prime with a perfect view of the water from the large deck and from inside the house as well. The beach is very close, very quite, lots of shells to collect and good fishing. The house is beautifully decorated--not overdone, just perfect! Looks brand new with very cool beach colors throughout. The open area with the den, kitchen and dining areas (there are two) had plenty of space for our group of six, including two little ones, to move around or play freely. Everything we needed was furnished in both the very large kitchen and bath areas. Best of all, they provided a golf cart for the 3-minute ride to the beach making it so easy to run back and forth to take some breaks from the sun. The owner was very attentive and quick to get back to us when we had questions. Thanks, Steven, it was a wonderful find and we hope to return soon!

The beach house is beautifully decorated. Very comfortable had everything you would need. It is bigger and prettier than the pictures show. The Golf cart made it so easy to get everything to the beach. Only thing I would suggest to any future vacationers. Stay here!! bring your groceries because you won't want to leave. Our family enjoyed a 5 night awesome stay at this home. Once you enter this home you feel so relaxed with its beautiful decor. This home has everything you need for true relaxation! Nice views of the ocean from inside the home and outside on the huge deck. My children Which range from young adult, teen, to toddler all had a great time so much included in this home for all. We enjoyed rides on the included golf cart feeling the ocean breeze on our faces was nice. We have rented homes closer to town in Galveston before, but this was such a nice and quiet area that I think it has made us want to only stay out on this side. The owner Steven is great he answered all my questions very promptly. Would so stay again and highly recommend to anyone this home is a true gem.

My family thoroughly enjoyed our 4 day stay at this house. You can see the beach from the house and it is a short 1 min golf cart ride away. The golf cart is a great asset to have if you need to haul beach gear. There was plenty of open space along the beach to set up our gear and soak in the day. The neighborhood was nice and quiet. The house itself was cozy with plenty of attention to detail that makes you really happy to be there. There was tons of space for my young kids to play around the living room and the deck outside. The kids of course loved the bunk beds as well. An A+ also for the house being well maintained and clean. The owner answered all of my pre-trip questions promptly and offered advice on fishing that came in handy. We would definitely recommend this beach house to everyone.

My family and I stayed at Captain's Quarters for a full seven days. What a wonderful week it was! The deck was the most popular place by far! The deck offers sun and shade, sunrises over the gulf in the morning, sunsets over the bay in the evening, and a wonderful picnic table for you and your family to eat outside! The inside of the house is AMAZING! The living/kitchen/dining area is so spacious and decorated so beautifully. We had a fabulous time! We didn't want to leave! I highly recommend Captain's Quarters for your next beach vacation!

My boyfriend and I (and our two dogs) stayed at this property over Memorial Day weekend and would HIGHLY recommend it. We've stayed at two other properties close by (one in the same neighborhood) and this was by far a superior experience! The house is, or at least feels, newly remodeled and was fully stocked with everything we'd potentially need -- towels, high-quality linens (I never thought I'd rave about sheets on a review, but OH MY GOD the bed felt like a cloud), an abundance of kitchenware, dishwasher tabs, trashbags, salt & pepper, etc. The only store run we had to make was for food supplies, which is easy to do on your way in. Better yet, it is pet-friendly (the dogs LOVED the wraparound, gated porch) but doesn't FEEL pet-friendly (read: smelled lovely, no random stray dog hairs or invisible spots in the rugs that our guys were particularly interested in). Easy access to the beach either by foot, golf cart or the bikes left for your use. We'd planned to go out for dinner each night but ended up staying in and cooking, grilling and enjoying the margarita machine (it does smoothies too!) and wine from the fridge. In fact, we didn't really leave the porch, which has a nice set of loungers and a bar countertop area with an ocean view. Steven was super easy to work with and responsive to any questions we had. We were very happy to be able to see water from 3 sides of the house! The views were wonderful and the beach is a 3 minute walk. Having the golf cart and bikes made it even faster to take quick trips to the beach several times a day, or to load everything and spend the whole day there. We were impressed with the attractive decor of the house. It has 2 spigots downstairs for rinsing in addition to a great outdoor shower with hot water! We definitely want to go back!

Spent the weekend at this beautiful home in Treasure Island. The house was very clean and well put together. We loved the bar area with the margarita machine as well as the large dining room. Awesome queen bunkbeds for the kids. There was plenty of deck space to hangout, get some sun and grill out with clear views of the water. The huge space under the house was very convenient for when it rained. There was plenty of room for everyone to hangout and toss the football around. We enjoyed playing bags at night while the kids played in the yard. The boys really enjoyed fishing from the beach. I didn't know the fishing in the area was that great! We caught Speckled Trout, Redfish, Sheepshead, Mackerel and even some Blue Crabs by accident! The golf cart made getting all of our things to the beach very simple. We look forward to staying here again soon!

The house is super cute and the kitchen has everything you need for cooking. The gates are really perfect if you have pets too because you can block the patio or the yard. That worked really well for our pups! It’s a short walk from the beach and you can see the water from the hot tub!

This is the second time we've stayed in this property because we like it very much. Great neighborhood, It's walking distace to the beach, comfortable, fully equiped, tastefully decorated, well managed and maintained. The hot tub is fantastic with direct view to the sunset. We have just booked it again for a future visit. Just be aware that no beach equipment is provided. If you are staying more than 4 days, we recommend you bring extra trash bags and dish soap.

I so look forward to our stay in this house every year! It’s wonderfully furnished and very thoughtfully equipped with everything you need to make it your home away from home for a few days (or weeks, if you’re that lucky!) The beach is steps away, parking space is ample, and the fenced yard is a nice pet perk. Kudos to the owners/management team for keeping the house furnishings fresh with new accessories every year! In neighborhood news, happy to report mosquitoes were under control this year!Thank you for another delightful vacation stay! Can’t wait to be back next year!

Our recent stay at the Captain's quarters was fantastic! Days were spent fishing and walking the beach. Nights were spent eating meals at the house and watching the stunning sunsets. This is a great location with access to the ocean and the bay being right down the road. The kitchen was stocked with all houseware basics and the spacious deck, comfortable bedrooms and living room made it easy to slow down, enjoy the fresh air and soak up the "island life" for a perfect vacation! It has an inviting open floor plan with up to date furnishings and is very clean. There is a local bait shop that is easy to get to. Having a washer and dryer in the house was very helpful! 979 Vacation Property Services was a pleasure to work with, professional, and very welcoming. We will definitely be using them again for our vacation needs!

My family and I had a wonderful stay. We were immediately impressed how the pictures online were an accurate representation of the home. The neighborhood was very peaceful especially with the sound of the waves. All of the basics for relaxation and ease were in the home. Items such as pot and pans dishes. utensils, washer and dryer, variety of games and all the movies and tv entertainment you can find were provided for our use. There were times however the internet was running slow. Thank you for offering a safe and memorable experience to get away for us.

We loved our stay and hope to come back again! The management and owners were awesome to work with and helped set up a great experience. The house is beautifully and thoughtfully decorated, with large open kitchen, dining, living area. The bedrooms are comfortable and the kids loved the large queen sized bunk beds! The kitchen literally had everything we needed, and the family dinners around the large dining table were so much fun. This whole area is off the beaten path and away for the crowded tourist areas. Quiet neighborhood full of friendly people. The beach access is off to the right a few houses down. We loved this beach, it’s very clean, no broken glass or tar like you have in Galveston. And it’s a very family friendly beach. We rented canopies, chairs and a golf cart for the stay and I highly tecommend spending the extra money. It was well worth it. There is not much close by as far as grocery stores and restaurants but we loved cooking in and took advantage of the gas grill. The sunsets and sunrises from the different beaches were incredible !! And spend some time on the beach at night, so much fun !! If you want a beautiful beach house to Spend quality time with those you love this is the perfect place!!

Pros: Overall our family was delighted with the home, furnishings and overall beach vacation feel. The WiFi was very fast, tv is large lcd with a nice external sound system. The beds were very comfortable and the grandkids loved the bunk bed, The appliances worked very well and the new washer and dryer were a great feature. The private beach is 10 - 15 min walk away. Cons: the cooking pans are warped and Teflon coating did not work as expected, felt cheap for the otherwise great quality amenities. We saw a dumb waiter in the online photos, we thought that would be great for bringing luggage and groceries up to avoid the stairs, but it evidently is NOT included in the rental as it did not work, our bad, we should have asked... Bring plenty of mosquito spray and groceries, HEB store is 40 minutes away in the Freeport area. Convenient to Galveston, about 40 min drive to the Pleasure Pier, and shopping. We will definitely consider this property for our next vacation...we will rent a golf cart next time for transportation in the subdivision and to the beach.

You always wonder if an online rental will live up to its photos. This home exceeded expectations. From the hammocks to the linen on the beds, the home offered comfort and memories that will last forever. The view of the beach is a short distance away but it is rocky, so you have to walk about three blocks east of the house to go to the beach. We actually preferred a 2 minute ride down the street to the public beach so we could take our SUV. The beaches never had more than 20 people around so we had the feeling of being on a private beach. Overall, an amazing trip...we will retum next year.

The house is beautiful and a good location to the beach. Nice views. Photos are very accurate to what the home looks like. Unfortunately, we felt held captive inside due to the massive infestation of mosquitos around the property. There was also a horrible rotten fish smell in the fridge and freezer. We could not use the main fridge and freezer. Fortunately, there was a secondary fridge and freezer we could use. They sent out someone to clean the fridge but the smell was still intolerable. Was told someone probably left bait in the fridge! Yikes!!! Any time you walk by the fridge, you could smell it. Think fridge is ruined. We actually cut our vacation short and left a day early due to the disappointment in the fish smell and the mosquitos. We requested twice a refund of one day's rent, however I have yet to hear from anyone regarding this. Wish the smell and the mosquitos were not a concern as it would have been a nice vacation. Again, beautiful home given the right time of year and new fridge.

We loved this house and location (so much so that we called and extended our trip). Everything was perfect and easy. The beach was nicer than expected for Texas and not super crowded. Only recommendation is to do your grocery shopping before you get down there because there isn’t much around, except for an awesome drive thru daiquiri spot. We will be back!

Luxurious accommodations, beautifully decorated, some of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in, fantastic deck with great views! 6 of us stayed very comfortably. There was plenty of space for everyone, and the house was very well appointed. Steven, the owner, was very attentive to our needs. This was our family's first trip to the beach with our 2 small children and they loved it! There were 6 total adults and two kids and we all had plenty of space! We were super close to the beach and it was a quiet stretch of beach in comparison to Galveston. The kitchen had everything we needed, beds were super comfy, beautiful decor, and the best towels ever! We loved sitting out on the deck and eating dinner while wave watching. We made a quick trip over to the aquarium in Galveston, which was super easy and convenient. We were bummed to hear the golf cart died right before our stay, which would have made the short trek to the beach with kids and gear a little more convenient but not a huge deal. If you want a well kept, beautiful house close to the beach, look no further!

We had a quick getaway to the coast and can't wait to schedule a longer visit. The home is absolutely stunning. We loved the open floor plan and the way the home flowed out to the enormous deck with a view of the Gulf and perfect for hanging out on vacation! The home was immaculate and very well maintained. The location was quiet and very convenient to the beach. We even tried a little fishing and caught a Red Fish. We will definitely be back for a longer stay next time!
