The House and neighbors were nice! The house was Exactly what we needed for a week of fishing get away! I would rent again, Thank you to the 979 Crew!

Had a wonderful weekend fishing with my son. This place is a great location with ease to numerous great fishing locations. Boat slip makes it easy to get in and out. House set up is perfect cooling off and resting in between trips on the boat.

Very quiet neighborhood, clean and tidy room. Very quick response, solve all your questions. The inconvenient thing is the trash can, you need to drive to throw away the trash. The backyard deck is not ideal for fishing, maybe it's due to the season. Very dog-friendly. The dog has a separate room, and the room also has a bathroom, which is great!

Some guests love the ease of the dumpsters at the entrance of the community, as it makes for quick removal. We guess it is subjective. We have definitely seen some great success for fishing (and catching), maybe it was an off couple of days for you. Or, maybe the fish were on to you. 😀. We do 1-2 weeklong trips to this area every year and have stayed at multiple houses. We will not be returning to this one. The boat lift worked, which was the main draw of this house. The elevator also worked, but was difficult to operate. However, the house is not very comfortable for our family. There is no shower in the primary bath and the bedroom and bathroom doors for that area do not lock because they are all bifold closet doors. The only main floor shower is located between the other two bedrooms. Like another reviewer said, accessing the house at check-in is difficult and confusing. The only instructions explaining how the door code and key work are in the informational binder that is locked inside the house.

We're glad you appreciated the boat slip and lift and real elevator, as these are not common offerings. However, we're disappointed to hear the layout did not work for your group, although this floor plan and setup is evident in this home's listing. Perhaps you did not review the photos or description well? Regarding access instructions for this home, these were shared specifically with you 2 times prior to your arrival. First in the info for guests 1-page document shared with you upon reservation which you are asked to initial for this very reason. Secondly, it is shared in the email we sent you 3 days before your arrival with "IMPORTANT" next to the access instruction paragraph. We're sorry you missed reading both of these and are not sure where else you were expecting these instructions? We will certainly see if there is another spot on Airbnb as well. Again, we're sorry you did not enjoy this well guest loved home more.

Clean house. Great location. Unlocking the house instructions weren’t very clear and we had trouble finding the key box after a late check-in. Was pretty expensive in my opinion at over $400 a night. Too much paperwork, signing of legal contracts…..stuff I’ve never had to do at any other Airbnb.

Hi Bryan, thank you for noting this home's cleanliness and location! We're sorry you had some challenges finding the key. We haven't had any guests mention that before and actually have the info specified in multiple communications to avoid this. Perhaps this is what was in the "paperwork" you mention vs legal contracts? Lastly, don't know where the $400/night # came from, as it certainly was not, especially given the season? It seems there was a bit of stuff you may have missed or misread. Regardless, we appreciate you allowing us to host your stay.

The house boat slips everything was nice & a great location. The property management company 979 on the other hand that’s the issue the house lost power not the street just our house. They wouldn’t call an electrician till they called the power company out which the power company is not at fault it was behind the meter the main breaker. Tried explaining that to 979 and they still would not call the electrician out so we sat there and waited in the heat at 90° inside the house from 2 PM to 10 PM at night, we ended up leaving our vacation loading up and headed home because no one from 979 would reply back from text message nor phone calls. I was refunded 900 and some odd dollars, spent $1500. This is bull crap, so I’m going be honest on this review!! It’s an amazing place to stay. Just make sure 979 is “not the property management company when you stay on your next trip”. I return in that area often very often actually never have I had an experience like this one. 979 non response.

I want to start off by saying that we will be back to this property! We enjoyed thebstay very much. The checking in process was simple. Thr home was vlean, and everything worked as advertised. We enjoyed tye fact that there was a full climate controlled bathroom with shower on the lower level. For the price, we feel like we got our money worth.

No third bathroom as stated...2 bedrooms adjoined by a restroom... water pressure was very weak when other restroom was being used. Found dog hair in carpet. Other than that nice house great location kids loved the fishing off the back doc

Property is managed by a rental company. The place is a lot cleaner than many of the beach houses we’ve been to. Great access to cold pass and marshes for kayaks. There is a restriction on visitors, even during the day (not staying overnight). I would recommend asking about this detail before booking as it was not apparent to me, prompting some last minute change of plans. I would highly recommend this place, just make sure you are ok with the occupancy restrictions.

I can’t brag enough about this home, the layout was spacious and the deck was fabulous!! The convenience of the elevator was perfect for someone with bad knee! We brought our pontoon and enjoyed taking it out on the bay and loved having it with us downstairs, very convenient! The kids had a wonderful time fishing every day and the adults did too! We will be coming back just as soon as we can!!

Great experience for the family. I wish they had listed the elevator so that we could have taken family with limited mobility. Perfect for boat owners. We WILL stay here again!

Okay place, but really needs updated carpet, curtains missing, decorative bed pillows, blankets, and MANY more large trash bags available as there were no trash bins. Our trash blew all over the place with high winds. Fishing was only hard heads at the dock, but we had a boat to go into the bay. If updated with these things, it would be a much nicer place to stay.

Everything was great and the place was very clean. Great access to fishing off the dock with fishing light also. Caught some nice Sand Trout, Croaker and Blue Crab. Lots of Hards and Gaftops also. A/C was great and beds very comfortable and clean. Will stay again for sure

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend. Actually, my brother extended the rent by 4 more nights. The house was clean and had enough room for 8 people (6 adults & 2 children) without running into each other. Will definitely rent this house again.

No house at beach should be without iice maker or st least ice trays. Only one shower on main floor was inconvenient for 4 adults. Stove was old and a challenge to use but it did work. Enjoyed quiet neighborhood and elevator was a huge success.

Great house. Elevator for convenient unpacking/packing. 2 boat lifts and fishing lights for nightime. Bathroom and shower downstairs so u dont have to go all the way upstairs every time. Cons - only 1 shower upstairs, master bed has bad sink in middle, no downstairs table or seating. Bring your own. Other than that, its a great house for a weekend or long rental.

This house has all the amenities you need for an escape to the outdoors. It also has all the comforts of home. The only thing wrong is no seating downstairs but that is being picky. We Vrbo texas coast all the time but seldom return to the same place. We will be coming back for sure. This is the real deal at an affordable price and in a prime location to hunt and fish

We have been renting places on the coast for over twenty years and I must say that Campo del Mar ranks in the top three homes in which we have stayed during that time. The home was very clean, the layout was awesome, and amenities very good. The large fishing lite is a plus and the fishing both during the day and at night was strong! We plan to visit again sometime in the future!

The only thing negative about this house is the furniture. The furniture in the two living room areas is mostly wicker - there is one old leather chair and one very modern cushioned chair. The two wicker chairs in the area by the kitchen are hard and uncomfortable. The two wicker chairs in the bigger living room area are more comfortable, but the wicker couch is not. There are no coffee tables. There is no furniture downstairs under the house, which is a shame because that is where the great breeze is at night. We had to bring down chairs from the deck. There is a picnic table up on the deck, but it is always in the sun - would be nicer to have this downstairs. There were ants in the shower when we arrived, but we were able to wash them out (the pest control person came later in the week). There is no shower in the master bathroom - only a tub. The elevator is a great thing to have when loading/unloading! The kitchen is pretty stocked with utensils, pots and pans. Everything was working. It took a bit for us to figure out how to lock the front door. But the property managers were very helpful and responded to texts right away. Fishing and crabbing off the canal was a lot of fun for the kids. We really enjoyed the location, but probably wouldn't rent this house again unless the furniture was updated.

The property was as listed, very clean and plenty of room. We’ve stayed in this neighborhood before and we fish from our boat all over the SLP area. We’ve also rented canal houses from South Padre to Pensacola and always get a house with a boat lift. This place was the best we’ve ever rented. Even if fishing is not your thing or you don’t have a boat, the beach and places to kayak and Wade fish are all over. We’ll be back.

Everything was perfect with our stay. Had some family come over and cooked a big dinner, then we all went outside for some fishing below and music up on the top deck. Wife was smiling all weekend.

Wonderful property right on the canal. Overall the property is exactly as depicted in the photos and descriptions, but what can’t be depicted is the amount fun that can be had catching fish right off the boat dock, how peaceful it is all day long listening to the birds diving and fish jumping and what a truly relaxing experience you’ll have at the property. The house is fully stocked with everything you’ll need for your stay minus food and snacks. Given the properties distance from restaurants and grocery stores it’s a good idea to bring in meals to prepare while you are there, however that’s not a deterrent for us as we prefer to cook on property. Overall cleanliness was as others had commented, clean and fresh so very inviting. We did however notice a shrimp smell in the refrigerator from previous guests, but was the only thing we that wasn’t 100% perfect. My family is already looking forward to revisiting the property for more fun on the canal. Thanks for a great long spring break weekend!
