EASY CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT: It's easy to stay with us and secure too! Access the home electronically at 4pm on the date of your arrival with your unique lock code that we specifically give only to you via text and email. Your code is live from 4pm on your arrival date until 11am on the date of your departure.

Neighborhood

TREASURE ISLAND:
The 979 Crew just loves this seaside and bayside community flanked by Galveston Island on one end and Surfside Beach on the other. On your drive, stop by the grocery store for your favorite grillables and beverages, make a pit stop at the bait shop to fill your bait bucket (great fishing in TI), and/or place a call to make arrangements to rent a golf cart - this is a very golf cart friendly spot. Enjoy the Gulfside's uncrowded pedestrian beach (no cars allowed for 300 yards but golf carts welcomed) where you can setup your group's camp for the day on the beach to build sandcastles, jump in the surf, find unique shells and sand dollars, boogie board, shore & surf fish and build an evening bonfire. Or if preferred, utilize the available launch for your boat or kayak or head to the fishing pier on the bayside. Some much to do so little time!

In addition, all of our homes feature luxury hotel-quality/high thread count on all sheets, bedding, and bath towels which are replaced upon every turnover including the duvet covers and shams (we've heard not every company does this, and we think that's just gross). We take clean seriously! When you rent a 979 home, you'll also receive the 'comforts of home' guest welcome starter supply of shampoo, shower gel, conditioner, tp and paper towels, dishwasher and clothes washer pods. We want your stay to be as easy as you do, and the 979 Crew aims to deliver on that commitment. We love our island guests!

🐾 PUP-FRIENDLY:
Bring Fido(s)! We welcome your furry friends (aka family members). Up to 2 well-behaved dogs are allowed at this home, subject to approval and a non-refundable pet fee of $100 per dog per stay.

WIFI/TV SERVICE:
Our properties include WIFI/Internet and TV service for your streaming services. Due to our location (Island living is a whole other way of life), service may be unpredictable or spotty, and repair times can be delayed. While we will do everything we can to ensure these items are in good working order before your arrival, please note, these services may not be as consistent as they are in your area. So grab your favorite people, ditch the electronics, and spend the day at our beautiful beaches!

979 VACATION PROPERTY SERVICES:
All 979 rental home follow local and state tax rules. Reservations may be booked up to 365 days in advance. Please send inquiry and details if more than a year out as rates and availability may not be updated. Each reservation includes applicable taxes, a cleaning fee, $1M liability protection and $10K damage insurance - and good news, No Security Deposit Required!

CANCELLATION POLICY:
For any new reservation, you may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund. Some exceptions may apply for last-minute reservations.

After that, cancel at least 30 days before your check-in and receive a refund in your original form of payment less the booking fee.

Reservations made on 3rd party channels/OTAs such as Airbnb, VRBO, Booking, Hopper etc may be subject to their terms and conditions which may be different than 979's. Please reference the site where you originally reserved your stay.

Getting Around

SAN LUIS PASS:
San Luis Pass and Treasure Island have been known all over the United States for being a saltwater fishing hotspot and the most amazing sunrises & sunsets! It is 15 minutes from Surfside and across the bridge from Galveston's west end and only about 25-30 minutes to the heart of Galveston Island's activities. Most people come to the area to spend quality 'non-commercialized" time with family, extended family, and friends!

Waves. Well Appointed. Did I mention the waves?

Our first stay here--but not the last. We didn't need to communicate any concerns--because there were none. This well-apppointed home was perfect for Grandma & Grandpa. We had one other adult who stayed the entire time, and on one night, we had several of the grandchildren. We have had a 20-year tradition of going to "Treasure Island," while the grandkids do a complete pirate treasure hunt. I won't give all the details, but BlueWave Paradise made the experience wonderful. We WILL be back.

Overall excellent stay and very nice place right on the shoreline. Couple small things I'd recommend is to have many more towels on hand for larger families and also more cleaning supplies like soap, paper towels, etc. Obviously these things go fast with a family of 6. The cottage was very clean, well appointed and it was in a quiet location. There is a cute beach just around the corner you can walk to. We were there when Bertha was passing through and the power did flicker a few times. We found candles and lanterns, but thank goodness never had to use them! A 12 year old boy named Jaxson was pulled out to sea. The first responders were on the scene so quick and we watched from the balcony as a drone, helicopter and emergency crews on seados searched for him. Praise the Lord he was found alive and brought to land just a few houses down. Hats off to Galveston, Treasure Island and all the first responders who risked their own lives for him! We have two suggestions. One a pocket door on the middle “room” with the washer/dryer and bunkbeds. You have to pass through the middle room to get to one of the main bedrooms and there isn’t a way to close it off for privacy. That could be awkward for a husband or wife with the in laws. The second is the porch railing is in need of repair. It is rusted and very wiggly. If you have toddlers I would be a bit apprehensive about it. We had a wonderful time, enjoyed the gorgeous views, crashing waves and yummy food. (Willie Gs is amazing). Side note- I grew up in Friendswood and graduated at Moody Gardens so I do have a soft spot for the area. Tour the gardens, Moody Mansion, The Palace and enjoy the fresh catch restaurants offer!

Overall great views and listening to the ocean was amazing from deck...Especially the sunrise and we saw dolphins one morning. There's no beach out front to walk to swim as its large rocks/boulders...and the road is outfront. U can pack your things and walk a block over to the beach or you go down the road to public beach access as well as drive onto the beach about 4-5 min away. It was definitely nice and clean, lots of hot water for showers. There is a shower outside to hose off sand after your beach day...Would recommend as it was a nice quiet spot to sit and admire the ocean and waves as well as chilax.

Even though it was father away from Galveston than we expected we loved the stay. Beautiful views, quiet, quick walk to lovely sandy beach. The only thing we struggled with was when we arrived (at night) it was impossible to see address on the house. Having the address on the lower/street level would be great for arrival. We will definitely be back! Thanks!

This really is the perfect direct seaside location, Terry, and with that comes the constant sand, salt, and strong sea breezes doing their part on the exteriors (literally sand blasting daily). While beautiful to look it, it requires consistent upkeep in which this home's owner does actually, so your review is a bit surprising. Perhaps you are unfamiliar with coastal homes this close to the surf? We are sorry to hear you were disappointed. Our 32 day stay here was wonderful! The property is exactly as shown and is very comfortable. Well appointed kitchen with so many cooking appliances. We enjoyed numerous hours on the large deck watching waves, dolphins, birds, butterflies, and the moon rise. The beach just a block away is amazing! A lot of shells and very few people. The beach goes on for miles! The neighborhood is quiet and safe. The property management team is amazing; they replaced the microwave within just a few hours of our call! We will definitely be back and highly recommend this property for a weekend or longer stay. You won’t be disappointed!

Truly Wonderful!

We really loved the house, the location, and the ease of getting to the beach. This is a truly wonderful place to stay if you are wanting to get away from it all! Great places in Galveston are 45 minutes from the home, and there are cool restaurants 20 minutes away in Surfside. The property management company was responsive and helpful. We’ll be back for sure!

Mostly good, comfortable. Grill was out of gas and in need of cleaning but other than that, everything was in order.

The house is decorated well & is stocked with most everything you need. Only things to keep in mind: front bedroom has no way to lock the door and it’s on a slide and you can see in the room from hallway. AC doesn’t work as well in that room either. The bunk room doesn’t have a door. And you have to walk through the bunk room to get to the master bedroom. So those are the only issues really. It’s a great location, right on the water. Green lights out into the water at night for fishing from houses next door. I loved the beach chairs & umbrella provided, and the Bluetooth karaoke speaker was awesome too. All in all a great experience

Nicely appointment home on the water!

Beautifully decorated home with all amenities you can think of. Kitchen was FULLY stocked with dishes, appliances, utensils, you name it! Very comfortable beds and everything was SUPER clean. The only thing I would change is some blackout curtains in back bedroom as a good amount of light comes in from neighbors outside lights and the morning sun. That’s a personal preference though as I prefer a super dark room. Wonderful stay and super relaxing property.

This was a return visit to the area. Unfortunately not a positive experience due to the home. I'll start on a positive note- The water view was nice. The Dolphins and watching fishermen entertained us. AC worked great, nice bathrooms and the price was reasonable. However, in my opinion the home needs maintenance and unsafe for kids and pets. When I arrived I first noticed broken dried flowers with black electrical tape, mildew on the loungers, chairs with torn cushions & exposed rusty nails, unattractive locked white plastic chains limiting movement to get out of the sun! Inside the chairs are soiled. Called off my Birthday celebration due to embarrassment! More importantly one of the bedrooms does not have a door for privacy despite asking prior to booking! The bugs were bad but certainly not the homeowners fault..If you are looking for adult friendly place for fishing & decor/rust/soil is not important this home IS in a good location with a well equipped kitchen. Pics need updating!

Best location and GREAT home!

This location was perfect. There is nothing like listening to the waves crash as you drift off to sleep and hearing them again when you wake up in the morning! Our group had 4 adults, two kids and our dog. This home was a dream spot for us. We have stayed in a lot of rentals over the years, in Texas and elsewhere. We like to cook at home when we are at the beach so we never have to lose our beach vibes. This is by far the most well-stocked kitchen we’ve ever had. Thank you for a wonderful family trip!

Lovely quiet area (except for the college kids party the first night behind us) with just the sea and a breeze. Gas grill was rusted beyond help, but property manager sent over Charcoal, lighter fluid and matches for the charcoal grill! Thanksss. Quiet area with a lot of empty rentals. Area looks like it is making a rebound with lots of new construction. House had everything we needed! In fact too much! Who ever thought one small house could be soooooo packed with stuff as a rental! The short dead-end road had more traffic than we expected of Looky-loos, but it was still very relaxing for us!

The property was everything we needed and hoped for! The views are stunning. We watched the dolphins in the mornings and evenings from the balcony. The beach is awesome! You won't encounter too many people, really only those that live/stayed in the community. If you’re a city person this is a nice relaxing and quiet getaway, there are two cities nearby with plenty of fun things to do. We had some of the best food in Galveston! The house has games and everything you would need in the kitchen. The owner has some nice high end pot and pans, cutlery, dinnerware, and silverware. It was like I was at home and not a rental. Nice modern interior furniture and home accessories. The down side is the back (master) bedroom gets very warm in the afternoon and evenings. We couldn’t find the fan remote. The cleaning company missed a few things (washing bathroom floor mats, making sure the remote was accessible or even there, didn’t clean the microwave, and used a blood stained pillow case). Nothing earth shattering but I wasn’t pleased either considering we had to clean upon arrival. Management did not respond to my message or photos regarding the cleanliness but did respond about the remote saying it should be there on the dresser….it wasn’t. You have to leave the bedroom door open 24/7 and leave the floor fan running. I have one room in our home that doesn’t get adequate air so I don’t want to sound overly critical. The rest of house house was nice and cool the entire stay! The beds were comfy. The gas grill didn’t work on Labor day so they found a charcoal grill and had it delivered within hours. Management was on it! That was AWESOME considering we had a bunch of meat. Despite that, we would definitely stay there again. It’s truly the perfect location if you want to leave the fast paced, loud/crazy city life.

Amazing stay!

My boyfriend and I stayed with my three sons ages 20-22 and their girlfriends. Even with 8 people we didn’t feel crowded. The view from the deck was amazing!! The only thing missing was not having the beach right in front of the house, but it’s only a few miles to the public access. The house was perfect and the kitchen had everything we needed! I would definitely stay here again!!

Extremely quiet and friendly area. We also enjoyed our morning and evening walks. Surfside is 12 minutes one way and Galveston is over the San Luis Pass and is a 25 minute drive the other way. We will definitely stay again.

We loved our long weekend at this property! It was the perfect size for our family. The sunrise views from the front deck were amazing. Sunset views from the beach absolutely gorgeous. We enjoyed the beach daily, in spite of it being chilly. We hope to return!

This house is really comfortable and cozy with great views from the living room, kitchen, and first bedroom. Plenty of dishes to cook with along with a nice grill charcoal and propane. Watched guys wade fishing right in front of the house each morning so bring your poles if you like to do that. Even tho they were fishing right there the place still felt private. We rented a golf cart that made making it to the beach very convenient there is access on the street right behind you. If you have a lifted truck parking under the house might be difficult mine is only 3” lift and I was unsure if I would fit but I did. I have stayed all over galveston, Jamaica, Freeport and this was one of the nicest and most comfortable.
