We had a really good stay at this house! Our group had 7 adults plus a baby & there was plenty of room. The beach is less than a 5 minute walk & you can drive on the beach but only a golf cart will fit through the gate that is closest to the house. This is also a good spot for fishing if you bring your rods! The house has a fully stocked kitchen they even have a thing of spices, games, movies, a lot of baby supplies (gates, pack n play, booster chairs), a huge outdoor deck & plenty of seating.

We had issue's with AC not functioning and wifi not working as soon as we arrived, first few hours we had a struggle due to heat but crew was very responsive and had sent AC crew to fix the issue right away. This house is amazing!! We had 10 in our group, 4 adults and 6 kids, plus a furry 4-legged ‘kid’. The layout of bedrooms is very good, as well as the layout of the home. The deck overlooks the ocean and you can catch some beautiful sunrises! The furniture outside is well maintained and clean. You also have access to the storage facility which is great to store your wagons, fishing gear and beach toys. There are also plenty of chairs and beach toys to borrow if you forgot anything. The kitchen is well stocked!! There was an amazing huge pot that I will be purchasing because it held enough to feed everyone. It also has a griddle, plenty of plates and cups, and kitchen gadgets. The fridge is well taken care of and because the home has a filter you can use the fridge ice and water. Be prepared for stairs!! Especially when hauling up and down! But your calves and quads look great after a week! The only small issue we had was taken care of within an hour of messaging. And someone from the management company came to the home themselves! Everyone is quick to respond and were so easy to work with. Would we definitely stay here again, and rent through 979 Rentals!

The location of this property is fantastic. It's in a quiet neighborhood and conveniently close to the beach, which we enjoyed for our 10-day stay. However, we encountered some major issues. Upon arrival, the house appeared clean, but we soon discovered a widespread cockroach problem. They were present in every room, including inside kitchen pots and pans, dressers, and even in the beds. We reported this to the host, whose response was that this is common in humid climates and that the house is on a professional pest control schedule. They did provide bait stations when asked. Additionally, the grill was completely unusable. It was very dirty, rusty, and had missing parts, clearly not having been cleaned in a long time. We also experienced water leaking in through the first-floor windows during rainstorms. While the location is a major plus, the issues with pests and property upkeep significantly impacted our stay, some of our group left early because of the roaches.

Thank you for allowing us to host you and we do agree this location and home are fantastic - we appreciate you noting that. We also appreciate you sharing what you enjoyed about the home, especially the quiet location and proximity to the beach. We are, however, sorry to hear that parts of your stay were impacted by the weather and storms during your time on the island including the window leaks from sideways rain. Coastal Texas can be challenging during periods of extreme weather, especially following heavy storms when pests—unfortunately including cockroaches—often seek shelter in even well-maintained and professionally treated homes. While we do have a regular pest control service in place and responded with additional bait at your request, we understand how unsettling this was and regret that it affected your group’s experience. Regarding the grill, we did check it out throughly after your departure and are not sure what grill you were trying to use? The one for this home is located in the garage and is fully intact. In fact, compared to most grills on the island (with the sand, salt, and humidity doing their finest) it is much better shape. Thank you again for staying with us.

When we first arrived and were going through the house the first thing that I noticed was that the toilet paper holder in the upstairs bathroom was on the floor. Whoever tried to fix it didn't. I fixed it. Also, the pictures that you advertise do not properly reflect what the home looks like. The three bedrooms on the main floor are so close together and is very congestive. The two bedrooms with the single beds should have stated that they are doubles, not even close to queens and very close quarters. It would have been nice to have some bar soap, the liquid soap does not work well when washing your face etc. In the kitchen the drawer with the utensils does not close tight. I had to continually close it with no success. On a brighter note, the house was very clean.

We're not sure what happened to the toilet paper holder, but we're sorry it became unattached and will have our maintenance team check it out. As for the layout, this is actually popular plan, and we haven't had any other guest mention it being congested (it's actually a larger size beach home) and actually quite the contrary. Perhaps just more of personal preference just like bar vs liquid soap? It sounds like you may have benefited with looking at the photos a bit closer and also read through what supplies we provide during your stay. Regardless, we take all feedback to heart.

The house was nice and in a great location and neighborhood. Just a quick walk to the beach from the house. The house is as described in the listing. Make sure to read the house rules in its entirety. I failed to do this and didn’t realize that they limit dogs to two and also charge an additional $75 fee for the 2nd dog. There are also several forms you have to complete which requires you to input all guest names and ages (for insurance purposes) prior to getting approved to stay. You also aren’t allowed to have any outside guests aside from those listed under the reservation. It was very restrictive IMO but as long as you know that up front, it’s a lovely home.

We just got back after a short stay at the Bluefin Beach House during Spring Break. The house is clean and as beautiful as advertised. Erin was a great host and things went so smoothly that I rarely had to reach out to her during our stay. The house is a short walk to the beach which was perfect when we went fishing. Just a quick trip to relax & recharge. Very nice house. Enjoyed the beach & the views from the house. Quiet neighborhood. Clean beach. Pet friendly. No mosquitoes or seaweed over Spring Break. It’s a short walk to the beach but if you have beach stuff in tow and forgot your golf cart lol or wagon, you can drive & park in the parking spots on the next block over (Jolly Roger). It’s a nice location if you like quiet - there aren’t that many restaurants nearby so that may be something to consider if you like to eat out.

Just a quick trip to relax & recharge. Very nice house. Enjoyed the beach & the views from the house. Quiet neighborhood. Clean beach. Pet friendly. No mosquitoes or seaweed over Spring Break. It’s a short walk to the beach but if you have beach stuff in tow and forgot your golf cart lol or wagon, you can drive & park in the parking spots on the next block over (Jolly Roger). It’s a nice location if you like quiet - there aren’t that many restaurants nearby so that may be something to consider if you like to eat out.

The house was very clean and new. It is 2 story with most bedrooms downstairs and the living/kitchen open plan with an extra bedroom upstairs. Nice porch to see and hear the waves. I like that the house is positioned so that all of the windows provide a view of the water. It was a walk down the road to the beach which was slightly difficult when we went as a mountain of sand that was scraped was blocking access. I would prefer that the home had softer beds but I am used to memory foam. Bring your own pillows as those provided are very small/flat. Overall we had a great time and I recommend this lovely property.

Don’t forget mosquito spray though. Loads of the in that area. I wouldn’t think twice about booking bluefin again. It’s a great house.

The stay was nice at this location. Owner’s were very responsive and kind. Location is very close to the beach. Kitchen is well stocked and spacious. The couch on main floor with kitchen was very cozy! The things we thought could be improved were small fixes in our opinion that would make it a better stay. On the two decks it would be nice to have patio furniture or some sort of chairs to sit on. The picnic tables are nice, but chairs or loungers seem very appropriate for such a nice space. The basketball goal is no longer there so kids didn’t get to shoot some hoops. The rooms are pretty small. So just know that while it does sleep 10 I think it says that on the description, it will be a bit tight in the bedrooms/ hallways. The grill can only be used on the first balcony/deck area. It’s not possible to bring it up to the kitchen level / second deck. This was not convenient when cooking and hanging out. Some of us were upstairs bringing things down to the grill and the cooks were stuck down there while cooking. Would be nice to maybe have a smaller rollout charcoal grill on the upper level that can be brought inside when not in use. Overall I would recommend this location at this price you are getting everything you would need for a nice beach getaway.

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Bluefin Beach House. The house had everything we needed! In the past we have rented beach houses where we had to bring cleaning supplies, garbage bags, coffee filters, etc. That was not the case at all here, the house is well stocked with all of your basic needs. We did an HEB grocery delivery for the week, and we enjoyed being able to use the well-appointed kitchen, as well as the grill. The views from the top deck were incredible, even from the kitchen! We were blown away at how clean the house was. You never really know what you’re gong to get, and in the times of COVID I am especially weary of cleanliness, but Bluefin exceeded my expectations on cleanliness. The beds and linens are comfy, and the corner of the couch on the top floor was the perfect reading nook. The house is a short walk to the beach, which was fantastic for us and our 4.5 year old. No need to rent a golf cart, unless you want to. We were able to go back and forth throughout the day. The neighborhood was very quiet and mellow, we stayed during spring break, and the beach was not crowded at all. It was a very family friendly getaway. We very much enjoyed our stay here, and look forward to another visit.

It's very close to the beach, so you can come and go easily. The house is fully equipped so you basically need to take your food and drinks, that's it. The storm's left a lot of mud in the driveway and the little warehouse where they keep the beach stuff so it couldn't be used. Communication was fast and easy, they were very accessible. Consider you will need to go up a lot of stairs.

We LOVED our stay at the beach house. Erin did a great job communicating with us for our trip and was flexible when we needed to reschedule due to COVID. The beach house is super tall (so lots of stairs) and we got our exercise in as a result, but the view was spectacular since it is the tallest house around. The beach was a short walk from the house and not at all crowded. The beds were fairly comfortable overall, even the bunk beds. The kids loved sleeping in the downstairs bunk room and it was very convenient for us because we could put them downstairs and not worry about the noise level of everyone else upstairs while they were sleeping. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook while we were there and there was a small grocery store close by to grab the things we ran out of or forgot. The mosquitos were the only problem we had and they are quite vicious! But as long as you have good bug spray they won't mess with you too much. Will definitely be coming back!

We really enjoyed our stay at this property! It’s a really nice home that had plenty of space for my wife and infant son, along with my sister, her husband and their infant son. The property manager Erin is extremely responsible and accommodating, and we definitely recommend a visit. Very close to the beach and incredible views of both sunrise and sunset from the deck. Only thing I would note is there are no restaurants that deliver or that appeared to be under 10 minutes away, so id recommend bringing plenty of food to cook (they have a grill, pizza oven, sous vide, etc). We really enjoyed our stay!

We had a great time at this beach house! The home is conveniently located very close to the beach, and it was an easy walk, and a very short drive to get to the ocean. We enjoyed that there were beach chairs provided, and a few fun outdoor games to enjoy on the patio. There are a lot of stairs, but that ensured we got in all of our daily steps. The home had everything we needed to relax, cook meals, and enjoy our weekend at the beach.

My husband and I took a quick getaway with our two college-aged kids and two of their friends. The layout of the house is great because most of the bedrooms are on the lower level and the kitchen and living room are on the upper-level so my husband and I could get up early, make breakfast, etc without disturbing the kids. The pictures are a perfect representation of the property and the location is a short walk to the beach. The beach is very clean and not overly crowded. We took our dogs with us and they had a great time playing in the water. Erin's communication and professionalism are top-notch. You can tell she takes much pride in the property and she truly wants the guests to have an enjoyable, problem-free vacation. I highly recommend this property and we plan to return!

If you're considering several beach house options nearby, I strongly recommend taking into consideration the gorgeous 3rd story wrap-around deck at Bluefin. It provides breathtaking 360 degree views of the gulf, San Luis Pass, sunset and sunrise. It's a tremendous advantage over other properties in the neighborhood. This is such a unique and memorably property that I'd go so far as to recommend modifying your travel dates (if possible) depending on its availability so you can experience staying here :) As beach house, the home is very, very well-designed. All 4 bedrooms are nearly the same size and all of them are very close in proximity to one of the 3 bathrooms. And since the (incredible) kitchen and primary living areas are on the top floor with balcony access, we were able to put our infant to sleep downstairs and not worry about waking him. The only issue we faced was that the golf cart was not available for our visit and we found out last-minute. The owner, Erin, helped us out by setting up an introduction with a local golf cart rental company that was able to deliver to the property. The mosquitos were also quite bad. This is seasonal, and problem for all homes on the Texas coast, but bring lots of bug spray and citronella just in case!

We had planned 3 nights but stayed for 2 due to the high waters from Hanna. Certainly no fault of the beautiful home! This place is great! The availability of the golf cart to carry everyone to the beach was fantastic! Kitchen is nice and clean and well equipped. Our 5 year old kept asking “Is this our house now?” And the 3 year old tried to refuse to leave.

Bluefin was the perfect beach house for our family! It is located in a quiet neighborhood. The beach is basically a private neighborhood beach. There were very few people on a very clean beach. The house had everything we needed. The golf cart was great for getting to and from the beach with all our gear. The top level deck was a great place to sit and visit with family while having a beach and bay views. The owners were great to work with. They were quick to reply, help with anything we needed, and kept us updated on any information we needed. We will definitely rent from them again!

Our family of 7 stayed at this home and we all had a great time! ALL of the beds were comfortable and it was so easy to check in and start relaxing immediately! There's plenty of room to spread out, yet, all come together for a nice meal on the outside patio with the waves crashing as a calming background! The golf cart was a huge help to get us to the beach and the waves crashing against the rocks were a wonderful way to enjoy some quiet time. We all definitely recommend this beautiful house! We Took a last minute mini get away to Galveston and stayed at the bluefin. The kitchen came fully equipped, there were plenty of beds, and the house was very clean. We very much enjoyed the golf cart it made getting to and from the beach convenient. We will definitely consider staying here again next time we visit Galveston.

We absolutely loved this home. Check in and out were so easy. It is the cleanest vacation rental we have ever stayed in, and that is not an easy feat at a beach house! The decor was very tasteful, colorful without being too busy. The queen beds were comfortable. My kids thought the bunk beds were less comfy, but that’s pretty standard for bunk beds. The owner, Erin, is very helpful and always available. We had a little trouble with the internet and the golf cart but her attitude of, “How can I fix this,” more than compensated for any hiccups. She is the type of owner that wants to make sure you have the best stay possible and goes out of her way to ensure that happens. We would definitely stay again!

The house is very clean. House has everything you need except a charcoal grill. It had a small gas grill. (personal preference) Plenty of amenities like games, chairs, and cooking equipment. Golf cart is key to taking people and items to beach. Also, another important fact is the water pressure is good.

Our stay was great! We booked our dates, then had part of our party need a place to stay a few extra early days. They worked with us as well. The owners brought by extra coffee pods and propane for the grill while we were there. Having access to a golf cart was so great! The beach is like a block and a half away.. So easy walking distance, but with gear, the golf cart made it a lot easier. They had lots of boogie boards & chairs to use at the beach. Plenty of bedding and towels & extra beach towels. The mosquitos were bad some of the days, but bug spray or a citronella candle helped that. They had a pack N play, so we didn't have to bring that for our littlest one. The view... was amazing. Being able to see the view in the kitchen while we were making breakfast or anytime of the day.... was awesome.

While I chose this place on pictures, being there exceeded expectations. Beautiful property and spaces. Great location if you don’t need the nightlife. Super considerate amenities. You don’t need anything but food, all else is there. Communication with owner/manager was the part that was above and beyond 5 stars. Highly recommend this location as you have access to what feels like private beach. Beautiful decks on each level for closing out the evening with clear views of the gulf.

We stayed for the weekend and absolutely enjoyed. The home was everything and more. My only issue which is not because i’m use to it, is the mosquitos. My gosh they loved on us lol! But other then that the home was perfect! Close to the beach but just a drive to Galveston. We will be staying again. Thanks Erin!!!!!
