We loved this home! It is perfectly lovated steps from the beach with a private boardwalk. The kitchen was well stocked and the upstairs downstairs balconies made for beautiful views aby time of day! We would definitely stay again.

The location is great! The house is not. We have stayed in several AirBnb's in Surfside over the past few years and would not recommend this house for the following reasons: - Once booked, we received additional rental agreements with excessive rules/policies/potential fines. I would have canceled the booking if I would have seen the agreements sooner. - The water from the sinks (other than filtered kitchen faucet) and showers smelled awful. We took showers outside due to how bad the smell was. - The pictures are misleading/need to be updated: outdoor photos show a space for a tv but there is not one, patio furniture was missing covers - We found several nails on the outdoor patio; 2 of the patio chairs were broken; the main outdoor shower looked like it was not used/cleaned in a long time and had lots of cobwebs - This is a beachfront property and does not provide beach towels for its guests. It specifically does not allow any towels from the house to be used outside.

Thank you for staying with us, Brittany, and agree this seaside spot is quite spectacular. We appreciate you noting. However, were sorry to hear you didn't enjoy this home more. The home's owner and us take all guest feedback seriously and to heart. Given this home's direct beach and Gulf location, as you can imagine, it consistently takes quite the hit from sand, salt, and humidity (and all the rust that comes with it in record time) not to mention the tropical storm and hurricane this summer, my goodness. However, the owner has recently done significant improvements from new flooring, doors, furnishings, paint, and more. Looks great! As for your specific items, the guest agreement you received is the exact same one every guest receives, nothing unique. Yes, the Village of Surfside's water can be odorous at times which was shared upfront with you, is known, and exactly the reason this owner has provided an RO and filtration system. Many homes in the area do not. There is no mention of an outdoor TV, and honestly, they don't fair well on the direct coast. You are correct, we do not provide beach towels, as unfortunately, guests have too oftenh left them on the beach or underestimate the winds and they fly away off railings, and the list goes on. We do share this upfront and also have you initial on the inventory list we provide. Sorry if this was an inconvenience for you. We really do wish we could provide them without extensive loss.

We encountered several significant issues that impacted our experience negatively. Sewer Smell in Water: The water from the faucets and showers had a strong, unpleasant sewer smell. We had to purchase cases of bottled water and 3 five gallon jugs to rinse off after showers and for basic needs. Dirty Air Filter: The air filter was heavily blocked by dust. It was so dirty that touching it caused dust to fly everywhere. I had to clean it myself, as it was situated very close to the bunk bed. Dirty and Damaged Sofas: The sofas were dirty and falling apart. One of the legs was missing, and the wood pieces supporting the seat were unstable. Slippery and Unsafe Outdoor Stairs: The stairs outside were dangerously slippery with mud. This posed a safety risk, especially in wet conditions. Unusable Patio: The patio could not be used when it rained because it became waterlogged. Additionally, trash and stagnant water attracted numerous mosquitoes. Grill was unusable too. We're sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your direct beachside stay more Anthony and couldn't find anything positive to say. We didn't hear from you during your stay (?) and always have a full local team ready to assist our guests. We hope you and your group found at least something fun in this home's direct sand and surf location, my goodness. Specifically in regards to your comments, are you were made aware proactively, the Village of Surfside's water is known not be the greatest and at times can be a bit odorous. We tell you (and you initialed) that we recommend you bring your own drinking water or pickup with a jug from City Hall. The air filters are replaced regularly as the coastal humidity, sand and salt require us to do so. We also provide extra air filters as well. Maybe you missed those? We do appreciate you cleaning it however and your feedback. As for the weather and that which comes with it, we would love nothing more than to control it for our guests. We do recommend trip insurance accordingly, and it sounds like the weather was more the issue here. Again, sorry you didn't enjoy your seaside time more.

Do NOT stay here and be prepared to be disappointed if so. Terrible management company. The property was hit by a hurricane a month before and we followed up for weeks prior without answers. The hurricane is not their issue but the unresponsiveness and lack of communication is. They did not reach out once and I had to follow up multiple times about the property status (without answers). They confirmed the property the day before our trip once they “fixed” the damage. We arrived and there was mold inside and outside, holes in the house and leading outside, missing fixtures, water seeping from the floor, stairs with loose/missing side rails and very shaky steps. No access to the washer/dryer or dishwasher as advertised. The water smelt like sulfur and SEWAGE. I could go on. We were told by property maintenance that it should not have been rented in the current condition. Save yourself and find an individual renter. 979 clearly has too much on their plate to handle things properly.

We're sorry you were disappointed with your experience Devin, as we and the nice owner of this home do not wish that for any guest. Our mutual goal is to create a clean, comfortable and fun place for all guests. And yes, there was a hurricane (which is no fun for anyone, and especially for all of us who not only work here but our own homes are here) and yes, we and the owner, did need time to access the situation and confirm status of this home to provide you with responsible answers. Also, if work was needed, bring in the right contractors as needed in hopes to accommodate any and all guest stays - as we know how important vacation time is. That said, the facts are as follows: your stay started on July 31st. You reached out on July 9th (just after said hurricane) at 5:36pm, Amber responded to you just 11 min later. You reached on July 17 at 6:41pm, Amber responded to you 7:08pm same day in which there was then a back and forth dialogue between you two. There was mutual active dialogue similarly on July 20, 21, 29 and 31st on your arrival day. We're not sure how much more responsive we could be. Reading through the dialogue, your main concern was the walkway to the beach saying that was the most important to you, and we confirmed it was still intact. As for the items mentioned, there is a new washer and dryer. Daniel, our maintenance manager came by during your stay, as requested, to access the dishwasher and confirmed it was indeed working with you. (?) As for the Village of Surfside's water, we're sorry it may have been a bit odorous during your stay. Unfortunately it can be at times but not within our control nor the ours. We really wish it was. Again, we're disappointed you didn't enjoy your stay more, but it was clearly not for a lack of communication, responsiveness nor care on our part nor the owners.

We loved staying here! An amazing location that is close to restaurants on the island. We went to the Seahorse Grill twice while we were here and loved it. The house is beautiful and was perfect and cozy for our group of 6. All the beds were very comfortable with awesome bedding. There was everything we needed in the kitchen with tons of space to prepare food. The beach access is so convenient and there were tons of places around the house to enjoy the outdoors. 10/10 would absolutely come and stay here again!!

Located directly on beach. Beautiful views. Good for walking. A storm arrived shortly after we did. There was a leak in the ceiling above the master bed. 979 was responsive but didn’t have much recourse as it was the weekend. They did offered a few solutions and we were able to comfortably complete our stay.

We wish we could have gotten it fixed by our roofer during your stay but getting up on a roof during a storm just isn't smart nor safe. However, we're happy you were able to comfortably complete your stay. Thank you for allowing us to host you!

The original house we scheduled to stay at wasn't ready And the recent rain had water standing on the property so they sent is to another house the Vitamin Sea house across town not on the beach the beds were hard as nails you had to wear sunglasses in the house with the large windows and I overall did not enjoy it

Had a nice outing with family. The location was fabulous, & the deck with the wooden walkover to the beach was the best. The house was adequately supplied, very cute & clean. We had 7 adults in our party, and made the bed situation work, although the bunk room was a little tight for adults. We knew going in what was available, so no mis-representation, the bunkroom was just not ideal for adults. Overall, it was a great way to celebrate a couple of birthdays.

We took our daughter and her friends to the beach for the weekend. House was more than adequate and well stocked. Great balconies to enjoy the beach front location. Only thing we were not keen on was the water smelled quite badly of sulphur. I believe this is a known problem in Surfside. Would definitely stay again!

Property needs some TLC. Roof leaked on us one day, couch has broken leg and 2x4 is holding it up. Hole in the wall be the refrigerator, looked like a mouse hole? Decking needs loose boards fixed.

We would definitely book this property again. While we didn’t get to stay at this exact property did to a maintenance issue after Hurricane Beryl, the property management company went above and beyond to not only ensure our vacation was possible but that we were in a home that was beach front and just as beautiful if not better. Very impressed!

Excellent location my family and I enjoyed the stay in this property the truth I recommend it has everything as it is in the information. the best the balconies to enjoy the afternoons with the family. The location is perfect and we had a very good time. The linens were nice and there were box fans to help with the heat. I know it is hard to do upkeep on a beach house and some things are understandable. However, the house needs some TLC which I did tell the property manager about. The sliding glass door to the deck to beach was very hard to open and close the handle was loose and broke the last night. The back garage door looked like it was kicked in. For these reasons I gave as lower score on the accuracy of the listing as the pictures show it in much better condition. But I would book it again hoping the TLC was given.

We loved this home. Right on the beach with beautiful views. We were disappointed that the area right off the back deck had trash, beer bottles and cans, etc. The trash was sun-bleached so it had been there for a while and really should have been picked up. The water lines had not been flushed ( the tubing to the outside showers was green with algae) and the water pressure was very poor. We called for maintenance and they had someone out that afternoon. The faucets were replaced and the pressure was better for a few hours until the faucet screens clogged up again. After that we just made due with the little pressure that we had. The pressure outside the house was great so we used the outdoor hoses a lot. The outside electrical plugs did not work and the bottom floor patio did not have lighting. In spite of the few maintenance issues that we had, we did love this house and the area it was in. We would love to stay here again.

Great house, had fridge issues and the folks watching house came and fixed same day for us, nice to have quick solutions to Vaca problems. Beautiful views with easy beach access and nice shower setup down stairs for cleaning off after swimming. Only negative was not having a washer dryer.

Perfect location for a relaxing family vacation! The private walkover to the beach was so convenient. Beach was beautiful. House had plenty of outdoor seating where you could choose sun or shade. Both Walmart and Dollar General are close by for those forgotten items or groceries. There are some minor repairs that need to be made that we had issues with but they were quick to come and help. Washer and dryer would be very helpful.

First, the negatives. Many of the doors would not latch or some even close. Overall condition of the house was quite a bit worse than indicated in the photos. Wall going out to the rear deck was actually pulling away from the floor, resulting in s gap below the walk out doors. The one real issue with this was that bugs were constantly getting in through the opening. Positives, are the wonderful location, gorgeous views, and comfortable beds. Overall the place could be amazing, Communication with management was very quick.

The day we got there we immediately noticed that several of the plugs and switches didnt have plates. The next day after a good rain, water pooled up at the base of this unit so we had to walk through shin deep water to get to our vehicle. All the windows and doors were leaking and there were real bad ants throughout the unit. This unit was NOT ready to be rented out yet and simply was, out of pure greed. The pictures are nothing like the units current condition.

The house was not clean, we had cockroaches in the house, furniture was broken or broke when we were there. The dishwasher didn't work after the first day. The water smelt bad. Kitchen cabinets and counters needed help. The bathrooms in the house looked like they had been recently redone in the photos but in person the fixtures all needed to be replaced. The pictures of the house were very deceiving. The floors in the house had many soft spots in them making it feel like they were going to give in. Overall we were not happy with the state of the house. When we reached out the the property company they were slow to respond and didn't seem like they took our complaints seriously.

This house has a great location with its own deck down to the beach. However, if you came to "grill and chill" please do not stay here. We had a small rainstorm one evening when we first arrived. After that, we had to wade through water and fire ants for most of the week because the grill was down in the driveway in calf-deep water. This flooding also made it so I could not wash the kids' clothes for most of the week because the units are in the garage. (Within one day of the rainstorm the rest of the neighborhood was no longer flooded.) On the plus, this place was big enough for our family of four (16-year-old twin boys) and everyone felt like they had enough personal space. The air-conditioning was also a huge plus. The patio was a nice place to hang out while I worked. The kitchen was large and accommodating for cooking with a giant fridge and two wine coolers. The dishwasher did not work the entire week, so that was a huge inconvenience for me as well, being the mom of twins. All in all, I would definitely return to Surfside Beach, but I would not stay at this location again.
