Great home for family gatherings. The access to the beach was amazing; the kids had a great time! Pros: - access to the beach and awesome patio - sufficient parking for everyone! - good WiFi - clean beds and linens Notes: - there is carpet upstairs with little air circulation. Paired with the humidity of a beach front property - Not great if you have allergies. - the house is a bit dated and could do with some updates and touch-ups but was clean

Subject: Urgent Feedback Regarding Recent Stay – Thanksgiving 2024 Dear 979, I hope this message finds you well. I would like to begin by thanking you for the opportunity to stay at your property during the holiday season. However, I must express my deep dissatisfaction with the condition of the property and several serious issues that significantly impacted our stay. Upon arrival, we were confronted with numerous maintenance problems that were not disclosed prior to our visit, and these issues greatly affected our comfort. These included rusted showerheads, a malfunctioning front door knob, and a door that caused my mother-in-law to become trapped in the downstairs bathroom due to a jammed knob. Additionally, the kitchen appliances were either inoperable or difficult to use. The beach chairs and barbecue pit were also rusted and unusable. Furthermore, we encountered pests, clogged sinks, and visible mildew on the walls. These conditions were completely unacceptable, particularly given

Thank you for allowing us to host your Thanksgiving holiday, but we are disappointed to hear you didn't enjoy your time more. We do hope you spent some time taking advantage of this home's direct beachfront spot. It certainly doesn't get any closer which comes with wonderful sea, surf and sand views and also the salt and sea breezes which support rust in record time with anything metal. It is the blessing and curse. At this point, our maintenance team has changed out the door knobs, replaced the shower heads, WD 40'ed all metal hardware. We checked all appliances thoroughly and are not sure what about them was causing you a challenge, as they all operate as intended(?). The outdoor furnishings are wooden or solid poly lumber, so we are unsure what rust you are referring to? As for pests, all homes are on regular pest control treatment; however, we are on the coast on an island, and buggers outside are a part of island life. We didn't find any clogged sinks, but we would have gladly assisted you during your stay if you were experiencing a challenge. Again, we are sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your seaside stay more.

Location & view are amazing. House needs some TLC. falling curtain rods, master bath sink plugged..unable to use our entire stay, hood vent in kitchen did not work, loose nails on walkway to beach, portable fans all needed cleaning before we could even use them. All were reported within hours of arrival. None were addressed during our stay. Upstairs porch railing was missing several rails which were replaced the following day. it was a huge safety issues with a 2 year old. We have stayed in several ocean and lakefront homes and this being the most expensive left a bad impression. There seems to be no pride in maintaining property by owner or management. Our family made the best of our stay, with the above issues! I will not stay here in the future. I will find other accommodations!

We agree Sue, this home has one of the best beach locations on the island, thank you for noting! We're sorry to hear you didn't enjoy the home more. While direct beachfront homes on the Gulf like this take a real hit from the salt, sand, and humidity (and definitely rust is quick and plentiful) and our maintenance staff always has an endless honey do list as a result, we do appreciate the feedback. There is definitely not a lack of pride by us nor the owner, but respectfully there is not an endless pocketbook especially in a home that sleeps 16 with guests who frequently leave the doors in to take in those lovely salty and sandy sea breezes. Again, we do appreciate you sharing your feedback and do not take it lightly nor without action. We hope you enjoyed your time at the beach over the holiday - great spot for the fireworks show.

While the location was great the place was very outdated. The house smelled upon arrival, the additional fridge smelled like fish was stored . It before, the recliners smelled like bad odor and one of them did t work. The dining table was scratched and sticky when cleaning and the chairs were wobbly by no fault of ours. The lighting outside was rotted out and the lights were missing bulbs. The furniture was wobbly upstairs so when you walk around it makes noise. Again the location is amazingly by if you hang outside the whole time but when you want to come in to relax the environment was a bit unpleasant due to smell and aesthetics.

We're so glad you found this location amazing! We agree it is quite the direct seaside spot! While decor is certainly subjective, we haven't had anyone mention an odor to the furnishings. We will certainly pass along your feedback to the owner and give furniture the sniff test. This home is located right next to the sand and surf with plenty of salt and humidity, so items can sometimes be a bit sticky especially with the door open. And no doubt, rust caused by the elements is a constant battle. We appreciate you allowing us to host you.

We had to last minute change our Friendsgiving plans in Surfside. The host was able to accommodate us last minute. The house was great and had all items needed to have a successful stay. The house was peaceful and we absolutely loved having direct access to the beach from the house.

we had a great time. the beach was empty. almost felt like we were in a private beach. it was great for our kids. we didn't worry about the traffic. and the house was so close in case we needed anything. all the neighbors were very quite. the house was very spacious. lots of rooms and beds. we were very happy with the rental and would to stay again

We very much enjoyed our stay! Our only complaints were in regards to the cleanliness. When we tried to bake something in the oven, it was evident that whoever cleaned had sprayed a ton of cleaner into the oven and didn’t wipe it out. As soon as the oven started heating up it started heavily smoking and it smelled like burning chemicals which is a huge safety concern. Also, the night stand in one of the rooms had dried up contacts from the previous tenant on it. Otherwise everything was great! They do warn you about the tap water- bring your own water for cooking/ drinking/ making coffee! The tap water is super nasty but they tell you about it beforehand!

979 alerted us 3 hours before check-in that the rental was damaged. We rolled with the punches from a winter storm that affected many people and accepted a different property knowing that we compromised 2 major features- number of bedrooms and a ramp for local elderly family Their initial “comparable” for a 6-bedroom was a 3-bedroom with 1 room containing 4 twin beds- inappropriate for our group of adult couples. We suggested places for them from their website, as they did not seem familiar with their own properties The replacement did not have running water upon check-in. To their credit, a maintenance person came on Christmas. He agreed that the water pressure was low and the flickering lights were new, but could not do anything Locals slept at their own homes and elderly family were not able to come due to the change. When I reached out to 979 to discuss possible compensation for the mismatch, I was met with silence and then dismissed rudely with threats of a poor guest review

First of all Lauren, we're truly sorry the Christmas holidays were impacted by the terrible arctic blast and freeze. It was certainly not the weather nor conditions any of us hope for at any time, let alone the holidays. As for the accommodations in which we gave you the option to move, we did the very best we could given the circumstances. And in fact, the home we moved you to would have rented for more than $500 above the one in which you booked. It is quite a bit newer of a home with newer furnishings and has far more amenities, same front row, ocean and beach views galore, again respectfully to both homeowners. We (at 979) came out of our pocket this difference, so you and your group would have a nice place to stay for the holidays. In retrospect, we probably should have just canceled the reservation to avoid the grief and costs in an effort to try to make your holidays enjoyable. As for the staff seeming unfamiliar with the inventory, it was instead a minute by minute assessment of what was damaged or not. They did not want to over promise and under deliver and needed to verify with our field staff running around in the cold and terrible winds which homes were good to go. And as you said, you were proactively made aware of what the 2nd home offered and did not. Lastly, not sure how you can be met with silence and then also communicated with negatively, but we've read back through all correspondence and do not see any threats of a poor review. nor a business tactic of any of our staff. That would not be acceptable. Perhaps you are referring to the automated request for review Airbnb sends multiple times? Furthermore, we did kindly respond to your request for additional compensation in which, as mentioned above, was given in the form of the cost we incurred to move you to a more expensive property in the hopes of supporting your group's holiday festivities. Sometimes it feels like no good deed goes unpunished. Again, we're sorry the weather and conditions were not more favorable during your stay.

We had a family vacation here. The house and beach are easily accessible for wheelchairs, which we didn't know when we booked so it was a great surprise. Property manager is very fast at responding to questions or needs. Location is excellent, not a lot of people on the beach so it was almost like our own private beach with easy access!

Traffic really backs up Rental agency very responsive to a few mechanical issues Bring portacrib for infants No beach equipment is provided. Several family members became very itchy when out far and discovered large quantities of tiny crabs in water and swim suits

This house has plenty of room! We had 9 adults and 9 children..ages 5-15. Positives: The ramp was awesome...no stairs to beach or to house. The huge bean bag in LR was a hit for the grandkids. Plenty of hot water for all our showers. Beautiful views from the 2 decks! Master bed was very comfortable and I believe all the other ones were also. Plenty of room to sleep. Big table to eat and play games. 2 very comfortable recliners in the LR. Pantry space was great ... actually 3 different cupboards.. so we each had our own family cupboard. Lol.Great parking. New grill . Overall a fantastic home! Some negatives: Second frig. was out of service. Does need a deep cleaning done but was reasonably clean when we arrived. Minor repairs needed. The code lock was temperamental at times lol. Pots and pans are very well used. A mop needs to be available. Could not find First Aid kit. Could not find remote to the DVD player. Suggestion: Have a 5gallon bucket available. My son in law was stung by a sting ray on his foot. One of the first aid remedies is soaking it in hot water. He did go to the ER because he had a severe reaction. It was scary to us all. We know that this is always a risk being in the ocean. We thank God he is ok and we are glad it was not one of the little children. Thank you for this home and the great memories we made! God bless you.

Appears the lateral lines are not properly installed. There was waste water accumulated under the house to the point you couldn't walk under there. there also seems to be poorly maintenance on the AC system as all the vents were dirty with some of them having mold. The only good thing was the proximity to the beach. The walkway also needs a lot of maintenance. We will not stay here again

The good first; nice location and beach, house was well laid out and stocked but needed much minor repairs such as drawer handles secured , drawer runners that were broke and shelves that needed pegs to secure them. Bad next; no WiFi or internet so TVs, Kindles, phones were useless unless you had high data plans, water was very limited, they had to pump their septic tanks the 2nd day we were there. We were told to take less showers but they advertised accommodations for 20, we did not even use washing machine and dishwasher because of the shortage until the last day or so. Definitely not worth the price we paid!!!!

House has a great location and plenty of bedrooms however mattresses desperately need to be replaced…house needs updates and basic maintenance needs to be done…outlets don’t all have covers being dangerous to toddlers. Holes in walls behind toilets and AC didn’t cool 2 of the bedrooms at all! Master shower had mold and sinks did not drain. We made the best of the trip and overall it was great! Just paid quite a bit for an underwhelming house! Coffee pot went out and they were super fast to replace it and we were grateful for their quick response! I think with some paint and a bit of TLC this would be a terrific house!

We booked this house for Fourth of July weekend. We arrived on July 1 and the house was 77°. We called the property manager four times before they sent out a maintenance person when he came. He said that the house needed time to cool down. He didn’t cool down until about 3 AM that night however, every single day during the day the house is about 77-78°. We were all hot and miserable. Our kids couldn’t sleep in addition to that it was filthy. The vents had so much dust and mold. It looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in a year. I have pictures as well that I took to post but it’s not giving me a place to post them on this review the deck had missing railings, which made it incredibly dangerous for small children to be on. I would advise anyone that wants to have a nice day to not book this house, because sweating and living in filth the entire time in 100° weather there’s not some thing that I call enjoyable.

Our group of two grandparents, five children and three spouses, and five grandchildren had a great time at the property. There were enough bedrooms so that all grandkids could have a quiet afternoon nap. The deck was a fabulous play area as well as a nice place for coffee and sunrises. The extra fridge was a plus when feeding so many people. The direct beach access was a must for us and it did not disappoint!

Overall we were satisfied but… the people that stayed before us mentioned multiple times that the A/C wasn’t working right so we confirmed before our arrival that it was. We were assured that it would be cooled down prior to our arrival. When we arrived it was not. We checked filters they were both very dirty we changed them out and notified property management that the A/C Was in need of service. They did respond immediately and had the problem resolved but it took 5 hours on day 2 of our stay to change out the AC unit. That meant we had to be out of the house during the hottest part of the day while the work was being done. This could have been avoided if they had actually checked the AC before we arrived. It was obvious the AC had not been serviced for a long time. The rest of the property was in decent shape, a few lights not working and fan pull chains not connected. And the upstairs windows had not been cleaned, but we would stay here again. Great beach access and a wonderful location!

I’ve stayed here before and had such a great time I had to bring my kids and friends. We came the central air wasn’t working to par. I texted the host 20 minutes later the repair man was at our door and it was fixed! Amazing service, enough space for everyone to enjoy each other yet be alone if wanted. Planning to stay next year again!

Check in was no hassle, plenty of parking for 7 adults with 4 autos, rooms were spacious, plenty of linen available, good counter space for group prepping and meals. Balcony's were safe and sturdy to allow children to play on. Good overall experience.

We had a great time at this beach house. We had rented it for a weekend getaway for our daughter's sweet 16 birthday party. So we slept a total of 12 in the house very comfortably. The girls had a great time and it made it very easy being right on the beach. It's also very nice to sit on the back porch in the shade. We went in mid April so we had most of the beach to ourselves. I know in the summer the beach gets busier, but most don't show up till way later in the morning, so it's easy to get down there and stake out your spot. Plus this house is down a bit from the busiest part. I thought it was perfect for our little weekend getaway and will definitely look to book it again later this summer. Check in was easy. I got a text a couple of days before with the code for the door. Check out seemed just as easy. I love easy!

Very clean and nice property. The view is beautiful; we loved sitting out on the deck to eat. The place is well-stocked with all the kitchen things you need, and bonus, they have a great water filtration system. You can hear people walking above you, but we just brought some noise machines and ear plugs for nighttime and were fine. The pool is a little small but our daughters enjoyed swimming nonetheless. Overall I would recommend it!

The Dome House is the most beautiful place we have ever stayed. We were a family group of 9 and stayed for a glorious week in paradise. The house and owners and managers (Nathalie, Avtar, Martine, and husband) were perfect and exceeded all expectations! We had Irini cook our first meal, which was a delicious feast. Martine came every day to attend to all our needs. The view from the patio and sunsets were breath-taking. Thank you so much for making our family vacation very special!

This was the least stressful checkout I’ve experienced and I rent once to twice yearly. House was as described and was appreciated. Rooms accommodated comfortably and the kitchen was so well stocked!!!! Anything we could have needed was there to include multiple place settings and plenty of coffee mugs. Beach access was great. And the deck has a fabulous view. Recommend.

The house was clean and tidy. All appliances were working and kitchen was well appointed. The contract stated a certain number of paper towels and toilet paper rolls but they were not provided. We did appreciate the ramp from the driveway to the front deck and down to the beach, which was in good condition.

We definitely enjoyed our stay. Great space for little ones that sleep in packn plays. We were a group of 10 and we all fit comfortably in the living room, dining area together. My only concern was the outdoor area that did not have a gate to close/lock up so kiddos wouldn’t fall down the stairs/walk way. We blocked it with coolers and kept a close eye on them. Also the outdoor shower area could use a it’s very slippery due to algae build up. My friend and I Loved the welcome basket! This house was right off the beach and it truly was that way. This was a big deal for us since we knew we had to walk back and forth for naps and such. Overall this is a great house.

The property was GREAT for our large family. The rooms were incredibly spacious and comfortable. The property had everything we needed (it would have been nice to have pot holders and more kitchen towels) and we had a great time. The ramp all the way to the beach was great for my grandparents who have trouble walking in the sand. Communication with the owners was clear and regular. Their instructions and guidance left no question unanswered. We loved this property and would absolutely come back for our next family beach weekend.

Location was great. We had an issue with the septic system and the property mgmt responded quickly. The house needs repairs. The walkway to the beach was hazardous for small children. Beds weren’t in great shape either.

This is a great house that sleeps a lot of people. We spent a long weekend in this home with a few other families, the house was clean and with 6 bedrooms accommodated everyone comfortably. The house has a beautiful view of gulf and the ramp to the beach makes going back and forth super easy. One and only complaint was when we reached out to management letting them know of an issue with one of the toilets we were told that all the showers and toilets were checked and working prior to our arrival and that they would not be sending anyone out to fix the toilet...that left us with just two toilets for the remainder of our visit which was frustrating with such a large party.

Our family had a wonderful time at this house! 6 family groups all together for a week might sound crazy but we had a blast and the house and location was perfect. The location on the beach was wonderful. The size of the house was just what we needed. The property management responded quickly with questions we had before hand. Every year we take a vacation at Surfside and the last 2 years we started staying a beach house so we could all be together. This house has been by far our favorite, it had everything we need, straight walk to the beach, enough room for everyone. The property manager was very quick to answer all my questions and need before and during my stay...highly recommend this house and company. We will be back!!

We didn’t get to stay because of hurricane Laura. But the owner did refund all our money. Hopefully we can stay there another time.👍

The contract we signed for 979 Vacation Property Services was basically all of the things we weren't allowed to do and all of the fines that would be imposed if we did. Then several days before the trip we got a separate email again reminding us of what not to do and saying an even bigger fine would be imposed. We get to the house and after the first night realize the property wasn't well maintained because the septic tank was full and overflowing. We called and 979 Property Services sent someone to pump it out. Fun to watch and smell on a vacation. Then we got rain and had more problems with gross smelling sewage all under the house. We could not get to our cars with out getting into it! We also paid extra to have pets and had nowhere to take them to the restroom because the entire yard was ankle deep in sewage. We called again and were told there was nothing that could be done. It was beyond disgusting and so smelly!! We will be certain to never stay in property managed by 979 Property Services. So much for a "happy" new year vacation!

I will start out by saying that I have it a 4 star instead of five because there were just some difficulties that we encountered. Firstly the wifi was out while we were there which wouldn’t have been a big deal except it was raining and we had all the kids inside. We couldn’t hook up the Roku to wifi because of this. Well good thing we had dvds except we couldn’t find the remote to work the DVD player. We, figured it out enough to get it to work so it wasn’t a huge deal. The one thing that was not a good thing was the dryer was not working so we couldn’t do laundry. Good thing my brother was staying at a house close by or else we would have been stuck with lots of wet clothes. I texted the manager and they replied that they didn’t want to interrupt our stay by coming to work on it. But having a bad dryer was interrupting our stay. There was not a lot of things there like they did not leave a lot of extra trash bags which was not cool. There were no condiments so we pretty much had to buy everything. Other than those minor things it was a really amazing place to stay. It was a great place for all the kids because of the access to the beach. Overall once we figured out the kinks we had a great time.

This place was amazing. Plenty of room for a lot of people and easy access to the beach.
