Annie by the Sea Oceanfront Sunrise Sunset Decks

We truly enjoyed our stay at this beach house in Freeport and loved having our family all together under one roof. The location is a great spot, and the sunrise view from the top bedroom was absolutely beautiful and peaceful. There was a noticeable odor throughout the house when we first arrived, so I’d recommend bringing air fresheners. If cooking for a large group, bring extra supplies (dish liquid, dishwasher tabs, etc.). Power outages can happen on the island, so pack flashlights just in case of storms. Power was only out for about an hour.

With the direct beach and Gulf location, there can be a bit of a salty air smell, perhaps that is what you were smelling? We will certainly check things out to confirm. Also, with our island location and a random storm, the power can be impacted at times. We're sorry it went out but glad it was only for a short while. We hope to host you again in the future!

Incredible location, right on the water. We saw pods of dolphins, full dolphin breaches, shark fins, pelicans, etc. The sound of the waves was so peaceful. The house was great with really quality beds and pillows. We all slept great and had a wonderful time.

My family and I had a great week! The home was comfortable and we had an amazing time. We got to enjoy beautiful sunrises and watch the sunset from the back of the house. We hope to return soon!

The master toilet had to be flushed manually. In master the door outside was leaking during rain. The upstairs deck has a lot of wood with exposed nail and large holes. I have stayed in this home a few times. It’s sad to see it going down and not being maintained.

Thank you for allowing us to host you again, Pamela. We are, however, disappointed to hear you were disappointed. We do know there was one heck of a storm on the island during your stay with sideways rain which unfortunately caused leaking across many homes including some our staff's very own home. However, we will certainly check that door seal. as well as, do a thorough inspection of the upper decking. As for the toilet, we weren't aware of any issue nor did we receive any communication from you to that end. We would have gladly had our maintenance staff address that.

Perfect location. Caught a ton of fish beachfront location right in San Luis pass enjoyed the house. Very comfortable beds and beautiful sunrises off the patio

Even though we had a few issues (no fault of 979’s), the electricity went out one night from a storm, and then our a/c needed repaired which ended up needing a new unit in the attic; the property managers and the repair crews were absolutely great and communicated well. The house is in a great location to watch the waves and do some fishing. Also, it is a great shelling beach! The home had all the amenities we needed.

Located directly across from a little section of private beach, and fairly easy to get to the larger beach through the neighborhood. Great view, soft beds, fluffy towels, and everything you need for a group getaway. Property manager is very communicative left little extras for us. House is a little beat up, but no worse than what you would expect of a beach side rental. Looks like deck was recently extended so it is larger than what was shown in the photos.

The place is nice, but it could use a thorough cleaning. We had a 1 year old in our group and he was crawling everywhere and his knees/feet were black from the floor. I realize the place is on the beach and expect the floors to be a bit dirty, but not on the first day. Furniture was also noticeably dirty and had rips on the couch. This is not a deal breaker, again just noticeable. Upstairs bathroom could use a little maintenance as one towel holder was just 'hanging' on to the wall and we just laid it on the sink. Fake door fronts on sink were also broken and fell off numerous times. Do not rely on the internet as it did not stay connected. We chose not to contact anyone about this as we didn't really need; however, it would have been nice so that we could connect to shows for the one year old. Beds were comfortable, set up was nice with 2 bedrooms on main floor and 2 on 2nd floor. There were enough bathrooms to accommodate all in our group (a definite plus). Towels were very plush and we had plenty for all of us and able to do laundry when/if needed. Mosquitos were horrendous and the size of Texas! Obviously not the fault of property, just wish we would have had some bug spray to enjoy the deck a bit more.

Everything from house to catching bait right in front of house was amazing! Did have an issue with door code but management answered quickly to reaolve the issue. WILL DEFANTLY LOVE TO STAY AGAIN! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

We really enjoyed our stay. Great location at a very affordable price. House was as advertised. The private beach area and view of the ocean was amazing also. We will definitely go back!

We stayed for 5 nights. The property was clean and comfortable, with direct access to a beach for wading (signs posted advise against swimming there due to rip tides). A beach that is safe for swimming is a short two blocks away. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes, cookware, and grilling tools. There are three bathrooms, but the downstairs bedroom’s attached bathroom has an odd tub/shower— you’ll have to sit down in the tub to use the shower due to the way it’s built. The property could use some minor maintenance; the coffee table is broken, stair treads are missing a cap, and the vinyl plank flooring has multiple gaps between planks that could pose a trip hazard. As noted by a different reviewer, the exterior could use a power wash. We were initially notified that the washer was broken and would be unavailable for our stay. After several text messages back and forth, the management company was able to secure a repair appointment for our second afternoon. The washer was fully functioning after that. Overall, despite the quirks described above, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would book again.

A private beach is right in front of the home, which is so convenient. House is clean and fully stocked, good communication by management. Would stay again. Only had two issues, neither of which was a dealbreaker. House is is need of a power wash and dishwasher doesn’t get power. Those were the only things stopping a straight 5 star review.

My family of 11 people stayed at Annie by the Sea for a week. We enjoyed it immensely. The space was clean and the view from the porch/balcony was beautiful. Communication with the property manager was easy and helpful.

The stay at Annie by the Sea was great. Loved the house. There was an issue with the refrigerator and I made contact with y’all and the issue was resolved right away. We had one new refrigerator that same day and had a second one delivered the next day. I will certainly recommend you in the future. Thank you again

The house was accurately described on the rental site and was perfect for large families. It was clean, had plenty of rooms, a nice porch and direct beach access. It was great for the kids as well as adults. The weather was not cooperative but thankfully, the home was furnished with games, TV's and plenty of cooking utensils!

The house had everything we needed and an awesome front porch to sit and watch the tide come and go. The beach directly in front of the property was great for little ones, but there's also a bigger beach just a couple blocks drive or walk from the house. The community was quiet and friendly. Perfect place to get away and spend time with family.

The house itself was nice had a little bumps about it but still was an amazing stay for myself and family. The front door needs to be fixed you had to really push to get it open and to close it you almost had to pull pretty hard. Other than that there was some minor issues but overall the entire stay was amazing. The sunrise every morning off the balcony was breathtaking. The walks on the beach and sunsets, my family really enjoyed. Thank you for the beautiful view!
