The house was perfect. My five year old asked if we were able to move there haha! With three kids under five it’s the perfect place to rent with it being so close to the beach. This is our second summer to stay with 979 and we hope to be back next summer too!

We had a wonderful stay at this house! The views from the property were beautiful and made our mornings truly special. The area was very peaceful, quiet, and relaxing — the perfect place to unwind. The neighbors were very friendly, which made us feel even more comfortable. We also enjoyed the local food, which was delicious. This is by far the absolute best place we have ever stayed. From a family who has been doing this for over twenty years, this place was perfect for us. Definitely a kid friendly place as we had a 7 year old, two 6 years old, a 2 year old and 1 year old. The fact that it was not even a two minute walk to the beach was great!!! The community itself was so quiet and peaceful!!! The views were fantastic!! We will definitely stay again!!!

Our family of four enjoyed this house. We have stayed at treasure island every summer for the past five summers and this house has been our best one yet. The proximity to the beach is just about as close as you can get. The house is so tastefully decorated and clean. It rained almost the whole weekend so it was nice to be in a nice house!

What a great beach house. The location is great!! You can see and hear the beach from the porch and it's just a very short walk to the beach. The beach is great and wasn't very crowded. while it's a public beach there isn't a public access point close by so not a lot of cars. The house was exactly has described. We had 3 adults and 4 children and it was plenty of room. The kitchen is well stocked with essential kitchen items to cook great meals. The kids loved that they had a room to their selves. The TV is user friendly and has everything you might want to watch. They have a small vacuum to use to help keep the sand cleaned up which was nice to have. There is plenty of seating indoors and out for meals and relaxing. The beds are super comfortable, the bedding is great! Our biggest suggestions to others would be to bring a few blankets. The ac works great but there are no extra blankets to use like on the couch. Also, bring plenty of bug spray. The mosquitos are fierce.

We had an awesome family spring break at Across the Pass. The house was perfect; very clean and well appointed. We especially liked the welcome gift basket. The neighborhood was great, full of families. Aside from the waves, it was very quiet and secluded! The outdoor shower was not working during out stay. We let 979 know and despite plumbing material shortages due to the recent freezes, they were able to come out the next day and repair the shower for us! Thanks for everything.

This was my 2nd time staying at this lovely home. And 6th time in this neighborhood over the last 5 years. This house is just perfect out of all the houses we have stayed. We love the location and the views. The little decorations are also a great touch. It just fits our family and we feel at home. The neighbors are also very friendly as well. Great house and perfect location. You are steps away from a quiet beach. The house is in a cute little neighborhood. We rented a golf cart to get around as cars aren’t allowed on the beach. Bring bug spray for the mosquitoes. Perfect get away! Stevens house was spotless and we were surprised with a little welcome basket. We would rent again.

Love this house, it's in the perfect location. Very short walk to the beach. Great views from the 2 decks & some of the windows. Cute... love the decor. Clean & spacious. The little welcome basket even included a treat for my dog. :) The cable was out during our stay, but it didn't bother me personally... a note was left to let us know. Will definitely return to this house!

This house is a very short walk from the beach (the entrance is maybe 2 houses away) and because there is no nearby car beach access there are very few cars parked or driving on the beach, in contrast to the west end of Surfside (golf carts are there). House was clean with plenty of kitchen tools, we enjoyed the upper deck to watch the sunset and it was very comfortable for our family of four plus dog. We would definitely stay here again.

I love this place and the location. It was clean and comfy. It has both a Keurig and a coffee maker. It has a crock pot too. Plenty of Kitchen stuff. The only negative I can think of is they did not have but a few glasses to drink out of. I did email them and they got us 4 glasses from the dollar store the next afternoon. So make sure and bring some Solo cups.

This bright cheery beach house was perfect. We hung out on the large lower deck, people and surf watching when not on the beach, which was just steps away. The kitchen was a good size for fixing meals and dishes were nice. There was adequate cookware and some interesting small appliances. TVs actually worked as expected. Would happily book this house again. We were a party of 6 adults and 3 children.

What a fantastic, much needed get-away! Across the Pass could not have been a more relaxing, well maintained, beautiful vacation home. Not to mention the absolute perfect location . . . . Quiet, relaxing and often times one of the few people on the beach. Had we had the opportunity to stay longer we would have! overall the stay was great. the bigger beds where very comfortable (most comfortable i've experienced in renting) and having the beach in walking distance was great. only down side was the amount of mosquitoes which isn't the fault of the place.

For my first time using Airbnb, this property exceeded my expectations. The home was spotless, the beds and linens clean and comfortable. The faux wood floors were a plus as carpet doesn't do well beachside. The bathrooms had good water pressure and nice thoughtful amenities with soaps and essentials. Kitchen was well stocked with nice dishes, coffee cups, pots and pans for cooking. Wifi and Directv worked great. The layout of 1 br down and 2 br up with an upper and lower deck worked great and we had a perfect weekend. There were only four of us, but I would be comfortable with 8-10 in this home. The Across the Pass home is just as it appears and described on the site. Steven responded quickly and we had no issues with check-in. I'll definitely look at 979 properties for future reservations. Overall the house was great! Nice furnishings, decorations, sleeping areas, etc., but a little sparse on kitchen items, no beach towels, etc. Also, not the owners fault, but beach access is a little more difficult than it was the last time we stayed in the area. The walkover at the end of the street in front of the house is fenced off now and you either have to walk under someone else's house or walk through a large lot of unmowed grass at the back to get to the access. We brought our golf cart but there is only one way to enter the beach with a cart, and that entrance was so deep with soft sand that all the carts kept getting stuck. Again, not the owner's fault, but it does make a difference if close beach access is important. Outdoor warm shower is great! I loved the decks to sit out and to view the ocean. Washer & dryer is handy and TVs in every room with Direct TV was nice. Overall we had a very nice time and enjoyed the house.

Appreciate you taking the time to write such a detailed review and glad you enjoyed your stay! We agree, it is a beautiful beach. :) Don't know when you were last in the area, but the access at the end of Buccaneer got closed off by the storms. Interestingly, a new access point was formed in that same storm. Now, there is access from 2 spots on the next street over. The Guest Guide in the home has an aerial image of the island with access point identified, so guests don't accidentally trespass on private property. Thanks for your suggestion on additional kitchen items. Will share accordingly. As for the beach towels, we suggest you bring on the inventory list we provide before your stay. Far too many towels got legs and walked away or were damaged from prior guests.

Brand new, great arrangement of the beds, baths and common areas. Loved having a full kitchen and dining area so that we could bring in fresh seafood and do our own crab boil or grill shrimp on the deck with the provided propane grill. Common area deck with tons of seating. And an upper deck; great private place to hang a hammock and enjoy the sound of the waves. Just a few steps to the beach. Never had any crowds on the beach, no late parties or noise complaints. Family friendly, but also a private getaway for honeymooners. We will definitely rent here again.

Thanks for the return trip! We LOVE our repeat guests! That's too bad about the beach and water. It's normally amongst the most pristine in the area. The county clears the beach regularly, but periodic rainstorms can churn things up (incl coastal trash from those pesky litter bug types, sadly).

The house was super clean and cozy. We enjoyed the evening breeze sitting on the patio listening to the waves break. It is only a short walk to the beach. We brought a wagon which made it easy to take your supplies all at once. There is great fishing so be sure to bring a popping rod. The neighbors on both sides of the house are super nice. My only negative would be, they need a couple of large pots for cooking. Other than that we had a great time. We highly recommend this vacation home.

My family and I loved this beach house. The beach was a minute walk and the house itself was the perfect size. The only downside is grocery stores are about 35 min away so I would suggest buying groceries on the way down.

This place is idyllic. The accommodations are very clean and comfy. The views are spectacular and the "peace and quiet" is amazing. I am so thrilled that I chose this spot as opposed to a rental in Galveston. So tranquil and undisturbed. I loved it. My doggies loved it. I will be back many times in the future!

New house with direct TV in all 3 bedrooms; 2 decks overlooking over the ocean; washer and dryer were a huge plus; quiet beach 1 minute walk from door; grocery stores can be found 15- 20 min N on Galveston Island. Lots to do in Galveston 35 min away- museums, restaurants and 2 breweries. But really the beautiful beach is the draw. We look forward to returning to the area and hopefully finding availability at this house!

This is a great house that is within very close walking distance to a relatively quiet and secluded part of the beach. The house was great for our family vacation. The beds, towels, and pillows are top quality. The kitchen was also very open and the grill worked great for cooking out. Plenty of chairs for the porch, and the view is good, although slightly obstructed by a few other houses and power lines. The host was fantastic--he was quick to respond to inquiries with helpful information. Overall, I would recommend the house, especially for the good price during peak July season.

"My husband, sons,and I have stayed two weekends here, and definitely want to spend a week later when we can fit it in. The house and area are incredible! We loved sitting on the beautiful large deck with our morning coffee or afternoon cocktail to enjoy the beautiful view and hear the sounds of the ocean. The house is new, comfortably furnished with quality furnishings and very good quality sheets and towels. The house is very well equipped and even has a nice, large laundry room. We like to enjoy the beach - just lounging and walking, but there are a lot of other things to do here as well. We are thinking of renting a beach golf cart the next time. We recommend this house for a relaxing "leave it all behind" weekend or week. WIFI reception is great. The views and sound of the ocean are superb!"

My family spent a week and can't wait to go back. Because this place is somewhat remote and unspoiled our kids ages 1 to 14 found a multitude of new things to enjoy. This house is in the right location and position for total family vacation enjoyment, almost right on the beach which goes on for many miles. The house was well built for casual and comfortable living. Everything is there, just bring enough groceries! Views and sound of the surf are unbelievable. We really enjoyed sitting out on both balconies and enjoying the views in the mornings and every night!

My husband and 4 young sons had the best vacation ever!  The house is decorated nicely and very casual and comfortable with high quality new bedding and furnishings.  The activities for a young family are endless, the beach is less than 100 feet away and goes on for miles--a child's paradise of new things to experience and enjoy.  The views from both decks are endless and awesome, not to mention the sound of the ocean.  My eight year old cannot wait to go back and learn to crab and surf fish.  I highly recommend for a family vacation or weekend!
